Broska Ended The Year on a High Note • Waltco, an international manufacturer of truck lift gates, announced it would relocate to Streetsboro • 185 full-time, high wage jobs at start, possible growth to 305 in the next few years • Completed Frost Road project • Began city-wide traffic signal project • Groundbreaking on new spec building on Wellman Road • Revised Gas Tax will add $415,000 into our road program

Broska Traffic Enforcement and Traffic Accidents Over 3 million vehicles traverse the city annually Three fatal traffic accidents-most we’ve had in many years Total traffic crashes decreased and are trending downward ODOT and the City invested millions of dollars to make our roads safer There were over 6,500 traffic stops resulting in 1,927 citations DUI Arrests continue to be some of the highest in the county

Broska Calls for Service SFD Responded to 2,426 calls for service in 2019 This is a slight decrease over 2018 Over 1,870 of those calls were EMS resulting in 1,282 transports to local hospitals They responded to 24 calls for structure fires or fires in a building resulting in a fire loss of $298,200

Broska Providing Excellence in Emergency Care • One of the quickest 911 Call to Balloon time for cardiac intervention, time is muscle, the quicker we get our patient to definitive care, the better chance of limiting damage to the heart muscle • Highly qualified and highly trained, citizens and guests of Streetsboro receive the highest levels of Emergency Medical Care • The Fire Department recently was awarded an ISO 2 Rating, less than 2% of the FD’s in the nation have attained this ranking!

Broska Community Involvement • SFD is involved in the Community, notably • SFD Partnered with UH and Berry Global to provide “Stop the Bleed” Training, the program will be extended to religious and other organizations • Safety Town • Smoke detector program • Trunk or Treat • CPR programs • Team with Parks and Rec to provide the delivery of Christmas presents by Santa, keeps growing and growing!

Broska New Fire Station • Thank you to the voters of Streetsboro for passing the fire levy • The project is scheduled for groundbreaking in the spring • Will be a state of the art facility so we can continue to provide superior services to our residents

City of Streetsboro State of the City 2020 – Mayor Glenn M. Broska We’re Strong because We’re Cautious • Due to lost businesses, union negotiations and settlements, 2019 was projected to have a deficit of more than $840,000 • Thanks to strong fiscal management the deficit was only $252,682 • The deficit would not have existed at all but we resolved a lawsuit and paid $625,000; otherwise we would have been in the black for $372,000 • Thank you to the team for coming together and carefully monitoring of all department expenditures to minimize our dollars at risk

Broska Challenges and Opportunities • Our biggest issue for new high-wage jobs is the lack of vacant industrial space • Manufacturers want to build their products, not a building. They don’t want to build new; would rather move in. • We are slowly filling vacant retail spaces • Arby’s, Panda Express, Dean Caputo’s Power House Gym, Sport Cards & Collectibles, and Family Farm & Home are some of our newest retail establishments

Broska Streetsboro 2020 Crain’s Big Book of Lists • Step2 is one of the 100 largest employers in Northeast Ohio • Also one of the largest manufacturing companies ranked by full time employees! • Automated Packaging Systems is one of NEOH’s largest employee-owned companies (defined as those with an employee stock ownership plan) • Delta Systems and the Technology House Ltd. has some of the highest number of employees for a family owned business • City of Streetsboro is one of the wealthiest suburbs of NEOH

Broska 2019 Parks Projects • Thomas Heritage & City Park Maps - highlight trails in each park. • Marketing Videos – showcase some of the key amenities within Streetsboro park with drone footage. • New covered dugouts on Field 8 & 9 – complete the project started in 2018. • Tree Planting in new parking lot islands, along field 8, along walking path entrance and around playgrounds. • New City Park Storage Shed – used by the youth organizations. • Field 3 Home Run fence – brings the total numbers of fields with home run fences to 6 out of 9 fields. • Parks Maintenance building improvements: new garage doors, heated indoor space. • Thomas Heritage Park – trail blazing (Eagle Scout Project).
