Youth Soccer
Spring Youth Soccer (Ages 4 - 14)
Spring Soccer Registration will take place at the Recreation Office during normal front counter hours (Monday-Friday, 11:30am-
4:00pm) and online 24/7 during the entire month of JANUARY. To register online, you must have an email address on file, and
a username and password (PIN). For first time users, this can be set-up by the Recreation Department. To get set-up with a
username and password, please e-mail us at recreation@ci.plymouth.mi.us or call us at (734)455-6620.

SOCCER FAQ's
When does the Fall 2018 Season run? The Spring 2018 Game Season is scheduled to begin September 8 and will end October 28. Practice
begins a week or two before games.
When are games? Games are played primarily on weekends but may have an occasional mid-week game. Saturday games can be from
9am to 7pm. Sunday games are anywhere from 12pm to 7pm. Mid-week games generally begin at 6:00pm, unless requested differently by
the coach. The U5 & U6 instructional program generally plays in 60 minute blocks on Saturdays however coaches have the option of
practicing during the week instead of before the games.
When do they practice? U7 and older practice days and fields are determined by the ―Practice Field Lottery‖ held at the general coaches
meeting. The time is determined by the coaches’ availability. U5 & U6, the coaches have the option of practicing before the games or
during the week, depending on coaches’ availability.
When will I be notified that my child has been placed on a team? The coaches will call the players approximately 2 weeks before the
season starts. They receive their rosters at the general coaches meeting, held 2-3 weeks prior to the season starts.
How are teams determined? Fall Seasons - With the exception of the U5 program, all returning coaches are allowed to request players
from their previous season if also requested to do so by the player’s parent. Once those players are chosen, an Age Group Coordinator
distributes the remaining players and rosters are viewed and approved by ALL the coaches in the division. Due to roster maximums
enforced by the State Association and other factors, not all requests for placement can be honored.
Spring Seasons - The Spring season is a continuation of the Fall. Teams from the Fall remain together unless there are specific requests.
New players for the Spring season will fill any holes existing on a roster or will form new teams.
I live in Plymouth Township or have a Plymouth mailing address, why do I pay more? At this time, because no Plymouth Township taxes
are put toward recreation services, Plymouth Township Residents and persons that live in Northville with Plymouth mailing addresses do
not qualify for the lower City of Plymouth resident rates. City of Plymouth Residents contribute to the support of the City of Plymouth
Recreation Department through their property taxes, therefore, they receive a lower rate.
Cultural Center Room Rentals
Our reception and meeting rooms are the perfect places for business meetings, civic clubs, wedding receptions, showers, and
other special events. For more information and up to date room rates, contact Michelle at (734) 455-6620 ext 304.
Large Reception Room
Our Reception Room accommodates up to 160 people and includes a stage and dance floor. It features 6’ round tables that can
comfortably seat 8-10 per table. Room can be divided to accommodate up to 90 people.
Meeting Rooms
Comfortably seat up to 50 people with the flexibility of theater, classroom or round table seating.
Room Rates
All room rental fees must be paid in full at time of reservation. Rentals include set up and use of tables and chairs.
Security/Damage Deposits
Security/Damage deposits are required for all one-time rentals. The deposit shall be 50% of the total room rental cost, up to but not to
exceed $250.
Alcohol
The Plymouth Cultural Center holds a State of Michigan Class C Liquor License. State law requires that no alcoholic beverages may be
present in this facility, unless they are supplied by the Plymouth Cultural Center Recreation Department.

Special Events
Snowman Photo Contest
Gather up all the snow and creativity you can and start building! Build a
snowman, dress him up, and take a picture. Drop-off the picture at the City of
Plymouth Recreation Office or send it in by mail, email, or fax, whatever it takes. Just get
the picture to the office along with the child’s name, address, phone City of Plymouth Recreation

Daddy-Daughter Dance
Come dance the night away at the City of Plymouth Recreation Department’s 7th annual Daddy Daughter Dance!
Dads, uncles and grandfathers, grab your little lady and get ready for an evening packed with dancing and
memories! Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Semi-formal, dressy-casual attire recommended.
Advance ticket purchase is required due to limited space. Sorry, NO WALK-INS will be accepted.

House Hockey FAQ’s:
What is House Hockey? House Hockey is a recreational hockey team. Players are selected by a draft of all age eligible
players and all players get an equal chance to play, regardless of skill level. Players can expect to skate 2-3 times a week.
When does the season start? When does it end? What is the cost? The official season start date is September 1. The draft
skate to place players on teams will be held August 18 (child must be pre-registered to participate). Teams will skate through
the end of March. The cost for the season varies on the choices made by each individual team. Typically, a player on the
house team can expect to pay between $1,200-$1,800 for the season. Each player is responsible for providing their own
equipment, including skates and sticks. The team provides jerseys, socks, and pucks.
What days and time will my team skate? Ice is rotated amongst the teams. Younger age teams typically skate earlier in the
day with later evening times reserved for the older age groups. The schedule varies, dependent on ice availability at the rinks.
The PHA skates primarily out of the Plymouth Cultural Center.
What is included in the registration fee? The registration fee paid by each player covers the cost of home/away jerseys and
socks (which the player keeps) and administration fees and costs involved in running a hockey association. It is non-
refundable.

Youth Hockey
Learn to Play Hockey 2018-19 Season
Administered through the Plymouth Hockey Association
This is an intro to hockey program and is intended for players 4 to 9 years of age (birth dates in 2009-2014)
Learn to Play Hockey Registration Options
Session #350100-01 skates September 8 through October 20
Session #350100-03 skates October 27 through December 15 (no skate Nov 24)
Session #350100-05 skates January 5 through February 23 (no skate February 2)
Session #350100-07 skates March 2 through April 27 (no skates March 30 or April 6)
On ice instructional skates are held on Saturdays from 2:00pm-2:50pm. The fee for each session is $85* Please Note: to cancel
registration and request a refund, the request must be made at least 14 days before the start of the session. In addition, we
are unable to issue credit or offer make-up skates for missed dates. *USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the 2018-19
playing season. USA Hockey is the governing body of youth hockey. Registration is free to children 6 & Under. There is a $45
fee for children 7 & Older that is in addition to the program fee. Register at www.USAHockey.com before the first skate and

Full equipment is needed and includes shin guards, hockey socks, athletic supporter with cup (boys) / pelvis protector (girls),
hockey pants, elbow pads, gloves, shoulder pads, jersey, unexpired hockey helmet with full face guard, neck guard, skates and
ice hockey stick. A limited quantity of gear sets are available to borrow for the season and can be reserved on-line. Please

Adult Slow Flow Yoga Cardio Kickboxing

Zumba Bunnies
Zumba Bunnies is a unique program with a fast paced Ballet (ages 3-5)
environment and constant flow of music. Kids will think that Our Ballet classes concentrate on being “lovely” and dancing

Tumblebunnies Music (ages 3-5) Stop-Motion Animation

Residents and persons that live in Northville with Plymouth mailing addresses do NOT qualify for the lower City of Plymouth resident rates since no taxes
are put toward recreation services.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
READ BEFORE SIGNING
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the City of Plymouth’s sports program, related events and activities, the
undersigned acknowledges, appreciates and agrees that:
1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while
particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
2. I accept all responsibility to inform the coach or instructor of any pertinent medical information required as part of this activity.
3. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others
and assume full responsibility for my participation; and
4. I will willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant
hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and being such to the attention of the nearest official immediately;
and,
5. I, for myself, my child, and on behalf of our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release and hold harmless, and agree to
defend and indemnify the City of Plymouth, their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors,
advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (Releasees), with respect to any and all injury, disability,
death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether arising from the negligence of the Releasees, any other entity or individual, or otherwise, to
the fullest extent permitted by law.
6. The City of Plymouth Cultural Center, and each of its rooms, including, but not limited to those which are rented to the public, with the exception of
the restrooms, are/may be under video surveillance at all times and any persons or activities which take place therein may be viewed by City
employees and third-parties any time.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I
HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND I SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

ONLINE
To register online, you must have an email address on file, and a username and password (PIN). For first time
users, this must be issued by the Recreation Department, and residency must be verified.
REFUNDS
All patron requested refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee, and payment for any classes that have
taken place at the time of the refund request. Any other applicable fees will be withheld unless the program
is cancelled by the City of Plymouth Recreation Department. Please see sport-specific refund policies for any
athletic programs.
PHOTO POLICY
In order to keep our publications up to date, City of Plymouth photographers take pictures in a number of
classes and programs. These photos are used for upcoming brochures, flyers, and other advertisements for
City activities. If you do not want to be photographed, please let the photographers know when they enter
the classroom.
