What do I do if I am refused a Visa If you are refused a visa you may appeal the decision within two months. 3.6 Organise your Visa However, you would need to check with the CIT International Office if it is possible to have a delayed start as this is not usually allowed. Many non-EU students need to apply for a visa to the Embassy of Ireland or You may be entitled to refund of your deposit and fees the Consulate in their home country. This can take 6-8 weeks, so it is important to allow plenty of time for this when planning for your admission date. 4 Pre Departure 4.1 Plan your trip Cost of Living Getting to Cork & CIT Rent Approximately €100 (depending on type of accommodation) per week excluding/including electricity/gas. Public Transport The Leap Card is a convenient way to pay for public transport services in Ireland with fares up to 30% cheaper than cash tickets. AIR Cork International Airport is the country's second busiest airport after Dublin and serves more than Shopping 50 destinations. The airport is located just 10 minutes from Cork City Centre. 4.2 Orientation Registration and Orientation takes place early September before classes begin so students should aim to be in Ireland at least 3 days beforehand. Students should inform the International Office of their arrival date as soon as they have booked their flights. The full schedule regarding time and location will be emailed to you at the end of July 2020. Joining a society will give you the opportunity to enhance your skills in organising events, activities and managing finance.
