2021 CONSTRUCTION PHASING MILESTONES • August 12, 2021 - Runway 22R Localizer (LOC) – CDA Work Completed. FAA Flight checks completed June 1 – Procedures for runway 22R ILS completed on August 12, 2021 charting date • October 1, 2021 – Opening of Taxiway PP • December 2, 2021 – Reopening of Runway 9R/27L – Primarily Departures • Summer 2022 – Commissioning of Runway 9R/27L NAVAIDs 4
TAXIWAYS A & B RELOCATION – ADVANCE WORK SCOPE OF WORK: Phased site preparation and construction of utility infrastructure in preparation for the connection of Taxiways K & L to Taxiways A & B. Work includes construction of airfield pavements, airfield lighting and signage, pavement removal, underground utilities, grading and drainage, cargo tunnel strengthening and pump station relocation. Project site is located in the Air Operations Area (AOA). Completion Date: August 23, 2021 6
REHABILITATION FOR TAXIWAYS Y, Y1, Y2, Y3 & Y4 H6237.21-00 Rehabilitation for Taxiways Y, Y1, Y2, Y3 & Y4 CONSTRUCTION Rehabilitation for Taxiway Y and associated taxiways includes the following work: mill and overlay taxiway mainline and shoulder pavement, including deep crack repair; construction of full-depth pavement, including demolition, grading, and utilities at the Taxiway Y3 fillet; and airfield electrical upgrades of lighting and signage. FAA lighting adjustments, pavement markings, and in-pavement weather sensor are also included. Work starts September 2021 Work complete January 2022 8
TERMINAL 5 EXPANSION -- $1.2 BILLION IN TOTAL INVESTMENT NOW UNDERWAY CONCOURSE EXPANSION ROADWAY NEW T5 KEY HIGHLIGHTS: EXPANSION TERMINAL 5 PARKING HOTEL EXPANDED GATE GARAGE AND HOLDROOMS AND PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AMENITIES CURBSIDE 10 additional gates EXPANSION NEW SKYTEAM LOUNGE (2 will be A380 compatible) Reconfigured international arrivals NEW BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM facility and security checkpoint KEY OPENING DATES: New airline lounges (consolidated SkyTeam lounge) and expanded Mid 2022 Sept. 2022 Mid 2023 After 2024 commercial offerings First Gates in Delta Air Lines Parking Garage opens Curbside roadway New Concourse relocates to Terminal 5 expansion and new hotel 10
TERMNAL 5 CONCOURSE M EXTENSION CONSTRUCTION Superstructure completed in mid- 2021. Glazing, roofing, and curtain wall installation ongoing for the 270,000 SF concourse extension. Work also includes loading dock, airfield operations and break rooms, restrooms, and systems for future concessions. 11
TERMNAL 5 REPURPOSING CONSTRUCTION Superstructure completed in mid- 2021. Glazing, roofing, and curtain wall installation ongoing. Development of new checked baggage inspection system and build-out of future airline lounges to begin in fall 2021. 12
TERMNAL 5 BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM REPLACEMENT CONSTRUCTION Replacement of the Terminal 5 baggage handling system with new control system, baggage make-up carousels, conveyors, early bag storage system and TSA checked baggage inspection system. Current construction includes a temporary make-up building to allow phased closures of the existing baggage make-up. 13
TERMNAL 5 GARAGE CONSTRUCTION Construction of a 1,750 stall public parking garage and reconfiguration of existing surface parking. Current construction includes advanced ComEd and water main relocation work throughout the site. NOTE: RENDERING IS ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY. ACTUAL DEVELOPMENT SUBJECT TO CHANGE. 14
