Thanks to all who embraced Pirate Day to promote our upcoming production of Pirates of the Curry Bean. We are full steam ahead with rehearsals, practising our year level songs, choreography, delivery of lines and acting in character. Our Year 5/6 students spent this morning rehearsing together and I was fortunate enough to pop in briefly to see some of the rehearsal. We hope you have marked Tuesday 24th July in your calendar. The matinee performance will be at 1:00pm and the evening show will start at 7:00pm. It was great to see all the costumes at this morning’s Pirate Parade. Thanks to the Production Team for organising today’s fun celebration of our upcoming musical production. Compass Update Trent and Liz have been busy emailing Compass login details to our school community. If you have missed this email with your individual log in, please contact the school office to let us know. We are currently in a transition period, moving more communications onto our new Compass system. Class teachers have been marking attendance via Compass, late arrivals and early dismissals are now recorded on Compass, and we will be adding various notifications to Compass throughout the year. From Term 3 we will be sending all event, excursion and incursion notices via Compass. We also thank our Fundraising Team, as Compass was purchased for our community with fundraising money. Thanks also to School Council for approving this purchase. Thank you also for the very positive feedback we have received from our community regarding the ease of Compass. Parent Teacher Interviews / Three-Way Conferences Parent Teacher Interviews (Prep-Year 1) and Three-Way Conferences (Years 2-6) will be held in the last week of this term, Monday 25th to Friday 29th June. Happenings Around the School Year 4s Challenge Based Learning Project On both Tuesday and Thursday this week, our Year 4s have spent time making honey joys to sell to raise funds for some new flagpoles and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. Many staff and students enjoyed their honey joy snacks this week. Personally speaking, they tasted delicious. Thank you, Year 4s.
