PRESCHOOL/YOUTH SPORTS CONT. ESPORTS Youth Baseball (Ages 4-7) Step up to the plate; it's baseball time! This summer discover the fun of baseball with us as we learn about hitting, catching, fielding, throwing and so much more. Perfect for the young person who has some experience, or those who are brand new to the sport! Coaches will pitch to players, with tees being used when needed. Weekly format will consist of practice time followed by a fun game against another team. All players receive a team t-shirt. **Parent volunteer coaches needed! Please indicate your interest at the time of registration.** Dates: Tuesdays, June 8-July 20 (no program July 6) Time: Ages 4&5: 6:00-7:00pm; Ages 6&7: 7:00-8:00pm Location: TBD Fee: $58/Chaska or Carver Resident; $72/Non-Resident Register for Youth Baseball Ages 7+. The Blaze Fire Gaming and Esports Club is a fun, Flag Football (Ages 5– Grade 8) safe way for the gamers in your household to play with Join the fun! ARTS PROGRAMMING In partnership with the Carver County Arts Consortium Introduction to Watercolor (Ages 6 and up) For artists with and without disabilities. Meet new friends while learning watercolor techniques. In this fun-filled 45 minute class you will learn three basic watercolor techniques and celebrate each others work at the end! Please register early as space for these classes will be limited. Teaching Artist - This class is instructed by Anne Krocak. Anne has a Masters of Art Education and Special Education Certification. She has been teaching groups from funders of the National Center of Disease Control to early childhood classes. She has won numerous awards for her arts programing with people with multiple physical, emotional and mental special needs and is excited to bring her joyful art classes to the CCC. To learn more about Anne Krocak please go to her web site at www.annekrocak.com Empowering Self Through Art Workshop Ages 12+ Come enjoy this free art workshop geared to people with and without disabilities to learn about Public Art - Photography and Improv. comedy, sharing your perspectives, learning about inclusion while finding your voice and creating a community wide outdoor display. No experience required! We will meet via ZOOM for an hour and a half for six weeks. During this fast-paced workshop we will share our beliefs and voice, learn strategies for handling difficult conversations, meet new people, gain deeper understanding our similarities and differences while learning techniques in photography. We will see a live performance by BLACKOUT-Improv Comedy, and have a 45 minute intensive improv. experience - led by Joy, a professional Improv performer. We will discuss a different topic each week and work in small groups to have discussions to support each other while having FUN! All community members are encouraged to come learn from each other, share your voice and make an impact in our community through art. We will also build confidence and use your new skills to share your message in a Carver County Public Art Display! BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities are encouraged to participate and welcome to this community building workshop! ASL interpretation available. (This opportunity is free thanks to a grant from The MN State Arts Board and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment) Dates: Thursdays, March 18-April 22 Time: 6:30-8:00pm Limited childcare available. ARTS CONT. Pottery for Adults (Ages 18+) This class is a great opportunity for students of all levels to explore clay on the potter’s wheel in a fun and creative atmosphere. Beginning students will learn methods and techniques of handling clay and shape it into various objects. Students with previous experience will learn techniques to make more complex pieces and develop their skills. No experience or artistic ability needed for this pottery wheel class. Join us for six weeks of fun playing in clay. We will be hosting each class with safety precautions in place due to Covid-19. Classes are limited to 7 students with social distancing, sanitizing and cleaning protocols before, during, and after class. Face masks are required due to state mandate. Equipment provided. Kids Day Out! (Grades 1-5) Join us for exciting Youth Geocaching for S’mores (Ages 8-14) non-school day adventures! We’re looking for aspiring treasure hunters to join us on a quest for treasure—s’mores! After a brief training on the Thursday, April 1st: history and use of GPS navigation, participants use GPS units to Ice skating, pizza lunch and movie in the CCC theater seek out secret caches hidden throughout the Regional Park. Friday, April 2nd Finish the class by cooking a smore over a bonfire! Extreme Kids focuses on enrichment opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of children and families. SWIM LESSONS @ the CCC Kids entering grades 1-6th fall of 2021. ADULT SPORTS Softball Leagues Co-Rec League: Games are played Thursday evenings at Chaska Lions Park. Start date: April 22. Registration deadline April 8th. We are offering pre-registration scheduled programs, some walk-in "OPEN" hours, and enrichment/education opportunities, too. For those who are not able or uncomfortable returning to in-person activities at this time we will continue to maintain some virtual programming in our Lodge Facebook group as well as a variety of ZOOM sessions. FITNESS GROUP FITNESS Currently (March 8-21) in-person fitness classes are ‘paused’ per the MN Dept of Health’s recommendation.
