Our women in political leadership have been really honoured in such a way that two of our very own women in Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, were elected as members of the Political Management Committee as Speaker and Council Whip respectively. Our loving and ever so warm mother, Cllr. Yoliswa Sechoaro was elected the District Council Speaker and the pleasant Mme Itumeleng Lethoko, the newly elected Council Whip, were sworn in during this special month as well as phenominal women with capacity and quality, Cllr. Priscilla Kwanaite and Cllr. Mmathapelo Tlhako were also elected as Members of Communication Manager: the Mayoral Committee. On the 19th August 2016 the Council chambers were packed as dignitaries, supporters of political parties, officials and community members came together to witness a total number of fourty three(43) new council members being sworn-in. Different political parties will represent their members during their term of office. The ANC had the largest number of representatives amounting to (27) twenty seven Councillors, followed By EFF with (8) councillors, DA with (5) five councillors and one (1) Councillor for AAA, AIC and F4SD respectively. The Troyka was chosen with no opposition as the ruling party had majority.
