VANCE’S NEWS VIRTUE OF THE MONTH IS MERCY Dear parents and guardians, As we enter the final days of IOWA testing, I want to thank you for having students here promptly for the start of school each morning. We continue testing through next week in most grade levels, so being on time and no appointments assists the staff in VIRTUE OF THE MONTH IS MERCY completing the testing process with the students. If an appointment is needed, please schedule it in the Caring for those who suffer afternoon. CONGRATS TO MATHLETES! On Tuesday, March 12, we will celebrate our first Congratulations to the four teams of mathletes annual St. Ignatius Day. On this day in 1622, Ignatius who competed in the UC Math Bowl last was canonized a saint by Pope Gregory XV. During weekend. A special congrats to Colin B., Joe B., this special day, we will take time to view a short Vincent F., Kyle G., Ian K., Mitch S., Kyle T. This past weekend, over 95 children participated in our first school musical, Annie. The students prepared all year learning the songs, choreography, creating sets, locating outfits and props, and learning their lines. If you were one of over a thousand people in the audience, you know how wonderful it was to see and hear this play. I want to thank Lori Wainscott and her crew of volunteers who helped to supervise and create a remarkable experience for the students and the crowd! Well Done!! DECREE ON CHILD PROTECTION The monthly VIRTUS bulletin was emailed earlier this week. To remain in compliance with the UPCOMING EVENTS Archdiocesan Decree on Child Protection, please read the bulletin and answer the accompanying Mar. 11 Stations of the Cross, 2:30pm question. BOOMER ROAD EXIT Just a quick reminder when exiting the school using Boomer Road that the traffic signal is triggered by a camera that looks down at the intersection of Boomer and North Bend. Please make sure to pull all the way up to the white line to trigger the system to change and begin the process of turning the light PASSION REENACTMENT to green on Boomer Road. This year the Passion Reenactment is taking place on new dates. It will take place on Friday, April 12 for the school and on Palm Sunday, April 14 for the whole parish. We are inviting all current 8th graders to sign up to volunteer to either be in the reenactment or help out with the music or lights. We need your help to make this happen. Rehearsals will take place from 7:00-8:30pm on Thursday evenings in March. Details will be sent out once we get more people signed up.
