Kindergarten Enrichment Center Stage Preschool is so excited to offer our Kindergarten Enrichment for children 5 to 6 years old, who are in kindergarten age in the Loudoun County School system. We wanted to create an environment that was as close to kindergarten as possible. We are basing our curriculum on Loudoun county's benchmarks and structure. Center stage preschool also includes 3 student assessments each year. Center Stage teachers are child advocates, educators as well as parent partners. Our goal is to have our kindergartners meet first grade ready and excited! “My son has been going to both the Afterschool program as well as the karate side for the past 2 ½ years and he absolutely loves it! Everyone on both sides is so nice and make everyone feel like family. The afterschool program is great because they pick up my son from school, help him with homework and take him over to karate class. They also have a great summer camp that we have done the last 3 summers as well. They do tons of fun things each week in the summer including going to the pool, to the movies, playground trips and even educational field trips. I highly recommend Super Kicks in all avenues so I encourage you to check them out!! – Jennifer Robinson

FAQs What is the difference between daycare and preschool? A daycare, or childcare center, is designed to provide safe care for your child, while the preschool is intended to stimulate learning, creativity, and essential skill development to prepare your child for the classroom experience. How do I determine which school will be the best to educate my child and prepare him/her for kindergarten? You first need to determine your goals for your child’s education. You should then visit several preschools to view the interactions with the staff in person. At what age should my child enroll in preschool? Most children begin preschool age of three, but ultimately, the best answer is based on your child’s readiness, which an educator can help to determine. Center Stage accepts children ages 3-6. What is your educational philosophy? We believe that the ages between 3 and 6 years old is an incredibly important time in a child’s life. It’s the “absorbent phase” which means that whatever they experience, touch, taste, play with...their whole environment, goes with them for the rest of their lives. We believe that children should have a voice and a choice, and need to learn the lost art of communication, which is why our performing arts program is so important to us. This is why our facility is technology free, so their imaginations can run free. On average, how long have your teachers been teaching? We take education seriously, so we employee only experienced educators. Our teachers have an average of eight years of classroom experience, totaling 88 hours of teaching experience under our roof! What is your children to teacher ratio? At Center Stage Preschool, we pride ourselves in our low ratios! Virginia state requires that we maintain a 10 to 1 ratio for ages 3-6. However, some of our classrooms are 4 to 1, some of them are 7 to 1, and we will never go above 9-1.
What safety certifications do your staff have? All our lead teachers have an Early Childhood Education or an equivalent DSS (Department of Social Services) certified education. All staff are First Aid and CPR certified and all of our Lead Teachers are Mat and FEMA certified. What is your staff turnover rate? It ranges from 3 to 5%, which is very low. Our turnover rate is lower than the average because we create a positive environment not only for children, but also for our staff. What do you mean when you say you are a “Montessori approach?” We believe there is merit in both the traditional preschool experience, as well as the Montessori philosophy, and to choose one method or the other can leave out some important aspects of learning development for a child. There are some facets of the school where the learning and activities are child-led, lending to the Montessori school of thought, as well as the traditional model where we sit down and learn as a group. Are children of different ages mixed together? Our classes are mixed ages from 3-6, because we believe that children can be at one level academically, and a completely different level socially. This structure creates leaders, as well as the format for children to set higher bars for themselves to achieve what their friends are achieving. We believe that a student’s age doesn’t dictate what they are capable of learning, doing, and achieving. Do you welcome parent involvement? Can I stop by unannounced? The answer to both is a resounding yes! Our school is a community that embraces the whole family. We host events throughout the year, including picnics and performances in our main facility, to encourage families to be involved in their child’s experience. And if you’d like to get an inside look at your child at play or the classroom, you can view the live streaming videos that we have set up for our clients from our mobile app. What will my child be learning in your preschool? We introduce the fundamentals of arithmetic, art, reading, music, and science, as well as enrichment programs for music, the arts, dance, yoga and karate. How often do you clean the rooms and toys? Throughout the day, we sanitize as we go, ensuring that everything is clean and safe for your child. Then we have a professional cleaning service come through and clean our facility from top to bottom once per day. What is your policy regarding sick children? In order to keep our children and their families, as well as our staff, as healthy as possible, we require that any child with a fever higher than 100.3f, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious disease be kept at home.
How do you communicate with parents? All of our parents receive a daily, personalized report from our teachers that document their eating, naps, and other important notes. Parents are regularly updated from teachers regarding the child’s progress, and we invite parents to speak with our staff at anytime. It addition we provide a monthly calendar to share news, event information, and other notes with our parent community. Do you video monitor classrooms? Yes! Our smaller classrooms have one video camera each, and our large room has three cameras. Our entire building has video surveillance 24/7. Once you become one of our clients, we provide you with access to our online video monitoring, where you can watch your child in real time from our app. How much time will my child spend on an electronic tablet? None! We are a technology free facility. How often will my child go outside? We have two distinct times that we go outside per day, weather permitting. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. We have a covered play area which provides shade in the summer! How do you handle behavior issues? We have three methods to handle behavioral challenges. We model the correct behavior and use redirection techniques. If these approaches are not successful we use a “glue technique” where we pull the child closer into the teachers and make them a special helper. Does my child need to be potty-trained to be enrolled at Center Stage? Yes. children are required to be potty-trained; however, it is OK for a child to wear a “pull-up” during nap-time. What if someone other than my spouse/partner with myself has to pick up my child? In order to protect your child, we require that you provide the names of any individual who has permission to pick up your child. We require advanced notice from you when someone other than a family member will be picking up your child and we will check identification. If we have any concerns or questions, we ask that you are available via cell phone to provide confirmation. What security measures are in place to protect my child? Your child’s safety and your peace of mind are of the utmost importance at Center Stage Preschool. Our entire facility is fenced in, and the outside entrance is monitored throughout the day. All visitors must register at our office, and we also maintain video monitoring it every classroom, including the playground. We also use fingerprint and facial recognition biometrics to have access to our student classrooms. Once you enroll, we will register you in our system so that you also have access.
Do you provide meals and snacks? Yes! We cater all our meals and snacks from School House Grill, a local catering company that specializes in preschool. They prepare and serve nutritious, home-cooked meals and snacks for our children. Our weekly menus are posted in our school. For our half-day students, one snack is provided. Our full-day students receive a balanced lunch and two snacks. Our facility is nut- free to ensure the safety of our students. What hours are you open? We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We have part-time half-day programs as well as full time 5-day programs and operate year-round! Do you have nap-time? Yes! We provide comfortable rest mats for your child to sleep on and ask that parents provide a blanket for nap-time that can be washed regularly at home. How often do you have fire drills? We have fire drills once a month! What is your registration fee? We have a one time application fee of $100. There is an annual enrollment fee of $100 billed each year in August. Do I have to wait for a specific time to enroll? No -- we have an open enrollment policy year-round, depending on openings. When do you bill for tuition? We have weekly billing. All tuition is billed in anticipation of the upcoming time period. Billing is done on the Thursday prior to attendance through BrightWheel. Being a parent who already has experience with an older Montessori educated child, I can confidently say that Center Stage is easily at par or higher than any Montessori schools in and around Loudoun. The teachers are awesome! They are straight forward and ask us about our goals for our children and are ever willing to work with us. The child to teacher ratio helps them give a lot of individual attention to every child. They communicate every day to us and send us lesson plans and pictures of our child throughout the day. I would highly recommend Center Stage to anyone looking for a good preschool or daycare for their kid. They are Montessori and more!” – Aj PN
