DAY 1 Sunday 20th June, 2021 MELBOURNE TO SUNSHINE COAST With pickup from home, we transfer to Melbourne Airport to join our direct flight to Maroochydore on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We will be met by our O’Shannessy’s coach crew on arrival, and taken on a short drive to Caloundra on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast for the next three nights. OVERNIGHT: Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort , CALOUNDRA DAY 2 Monday 21st June, 2021 MALENY, MARY CAIRNCROSS LOOKOUT AND MONTVILLE We take a scenic drive today up into the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, travelling via Landsborough up the hill to our first stop at the unforgettable Maleny Botanical Gardens and Birdworld Avery. Whether you are an avid botanist, a nature-lover or simply cherish the peace and tranquillity of beautiful gardens and rolling landscapes, a visit to Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World is the perfect day out. Spend some time wandering through the gardens and enjoy a lovely Devonshire Tea before leaving to visit the newly renovated Mary Cairncross Lookout to enjoy the spectacular views. On a clear day you can even see the high rise buildings in Brisbane – and of course the spectacular Glasshouse Mountains. This afternoon, we drive to Montville, stopping to do some window shopping in this quaint village which is approximately 400 metres above sea level. DAY 3 Tuesday 22nd June, 2021 GINGER FACTORY AND MOOLOOLABA RIVER CRUISE After breakfast, we make our way to the Ginger Factory, for a guided tour around the Buderim Ginger Factory. See how ginger is grown, harvested and turned into a delicious range of ginger products. Finish the tour with a tasting and discover why they produce the world’s finest ginger! For lunch today, we take a Seafood Lunch Cruise, enjoying the freshest seafood the Sunshine Coast has to offer whilst cruising the Mooloolaba Harbour, river and canals. We may also see Steve Irwin’s marine research vessel ‘Croc One’. We glide into the main river and canals to enjoy the sights of the Minyama mansions along Millionaires row. OVERNIGHT: Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort , CALOUNDRA DAY 4 Wednesday 23rd June, 2021 MARY POPPINS STATUE, CHILDERS After several lovely relaxing days on the Sunshine Coast, we make our way north making our first stop at Maryborough - a town steeped in history which tells the tales of its captivating colonial past mixed with an artistic vibe everywhere you go. Learn about the magical world of Mary Poppins, as this town is the birthplace of author P.L Travers. A short stroll through heritage-listed Queens Park will lead us to Cherry Tree Lane and the statue of Mary Poppins perched next to the 136-year-old building where P.L Travers was born in 1889. While in Queens Park, take a look at the statue of Duncan Chapman, the first Anzac ashore at Gallopoli, who symbolises the rich military history of Maryborough. We continue our journey passing rows of red rich soil, green macadamia trees dotting the horizon, "hedges" of sugarcane along the roadside and into the main street of Childers. History and heritage oozes out of its facades. We take time for a break and lunch, before continuing on to Bundaberg for our next 2 night stopover. DAY 5 Thursday 24th June, 2021 HINKLER HALL OF AVIATION, BOTANIC GARDENS, BUNDABERG RUM FACTORY This morning we visit the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, Fairymead House Sugar Museum and the beautiful Bundaberg Botanic Gardens. We will be amazed by the awe inspiring, dynamic and unique structure of soaring glass and steel made in the shape of an aircraft wing. The Hinkler Hall of Aviation brings to life the adventures of Australia’s famous pioneer solo aviator, Bert Hinkler. From here we wander over to the Fairymead House for the Sugar Stories tour, learning all about the Bundaberg Sugar industry and the pioneer sugar families. When we have finished looking around, we can stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens, before enjoying lunch at the Café. This afternoon we experience Bundaberg Rum on its hallowed ground, and we’ll quickly discover that the drink itself is only part of the story. We participate in the Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience, which is located within a retired Bondstore that has previously aged some of Bundaberg’s finest rums. This self-paced interactive experience will allow us to see, touch and smell our way through the rich history of Bundaberg Rum. Upon return to our accommodation, we have time to relax before dinner. OVERNIGHT: Bundaberg International Motor Inn, BUNDABERG DAY 6 Friday 25th June, 2021 CREEDS CATTLE STATION, ROCKHAMPTON We take the Rosedale back road through to Miriam Vale, where we meet up with the main Pacific Highway, and continue through to Creed Grazing Co, arriving in time for a sumptuous lunch. Members of the Creed Family will take us around the farm in the coach, immersing us all in the rich history of Australia’s Cattle country pioneers. It is always hard to leave friendly country hospitality, but we need to continue through to Rockhampton for our next 2 night stay. OVERNIGHT: Korte’s Resort, ROCKHAMPTON
DAY 7 Saturday 26th June, 2021 YEPPOON, EMU PARK, ROCKHAMPTON ZOO, CAPRICORN CAVES After a lovely breakfast by the pool at Korte’s Resort, we board the coach for a short drive out to Yeppoon and Emu Park. The lovely seaside town of Yeppoon sits at the heart of Queensland’s Capricorn Coast and boasts the near-tropical blue waters and the stunning colour of the sand makes you realise they have some of Queensland’s best beaches. We will follow the coastline around past Roslyn Bay to Emu Park, making a stop to view the Singing Ship. Read up on the history as we stop at the base of the faintly whistling monument. We continue our morning into the city of Rockhampton to visit the Botanic Gardens and Zoo. We spend some time in both places before enjoying lunch at their café. This afternoon, we head just north of the city to the beautiful Capricorn Caves. These spectacular caves will leave us with lasting memories of ancient geological history, early explorers, the wonders of wildlife and special cave acoustics. We leave the well lit cave through the Zig Zag passage and suspension bridge, finishing with a sense of adventure. OVERNIGHT: Korte’s Resort, ROCKHAMPTON DAY 8 Sunday 27th June, 2021 ROCKHAMPTON TO SPRINGSURE After a leisurely breakfast, we depart Rockhampton making our way west through country outback towns to the Central Highlands area of Queensland, and on to the township of Springsure. The local landmark - Mount Zamia – is a prominent feature, looming above the town. They grow a large range of crops including sunflowers, sorghum, wheat and chickpeas. We stay in Springsure for the next 2 nights, so we can explore Carnarvon Gorge tomorrow. OVERNIGHT: Springsure Overlander Motel, SPRINGSURE
DAY 9 Monday 28th June, 2021 CARNARVON GORGE Carnarvon Gorge is a spectacular gorge system with towering white cliffs and lush side gorges. Located in Carnarvon National Park, it is the Central Highlands’ most popular attraction. Make sure you pack to walking shoes for this adventure. Those who are more energetic will make it through to the "Moss Gardens" and the "Cathedral", whereas others may just like to stroll along the pathway at their own leisure. Either way, we are sure to enjoy this beautiful oasis in the National Park which will leave you breathless. Ancient ferns, aboriginal rock art, whiptail wallabies, fairy wrens, brush tail possums, yellow bellied gliders, greater gliders at night and over 173 species of birds make this a truly special place. View creeks, waterfalls and lush rainforest. After a great day, we make our way back to Springsure for the night. OVERNIGHT: Springsure Overlander Motel, SPRINGSURE DAY 10 Tuesday 29th June, 2021 SPRINGSURE TO CHARTERS TOWERS This morning we drive via Emerald where we view the Historic Railway Station built in 1900 and now classified by the National Trust. Outside the Town Hall is the fossilised tree that is 250 million years old. This tree was unearthed on the banks of the Mackenzie River when a railway bridge was being constructed to one of the local mines and donated to the town on the event of its centenary by BHP Mines. We also view the famous Van Gogh Sunflower Painting which is a tribute to Emerald’s history as the town used to be a huge sunflower producer. After a quick look around we journey further northwards, taking the Gregory Development Road. This deserted outback road, passes through Clermont and the remote Belyando Road House. Upon arrival in Charters Towers, we check into our accommodation for the next 2 nights. OVERNIGHT: Cattlemans Rest Motor Inn, CHARTERS TOWERS
DAY 11 Wednesday 30th June, 2021 TEXAS LONGHORN STATION AND CHARTERS TOWERS This morning we head out of town a short distance to Leahton Park, to discover the largest herd of full blood Texas Longhorn cattle in Australia. The 1,100 acre property is family owned by Michael and Linda, allowing us to enjoy learning about the cattle first hand. They opened in 2009, operating the award winning Texas Longhorn Wagon Tour and Safaris. We take a horse drawn wagon ride and a trip back in time - back to the old west, to the era of the legendary Texas Longhorns! These historical cattle are direct descendants of the millions of Texas Longhorns that walked in the great trail herds from Texas in the late 1800's. Enjoy freshly cooked camp oven damper and billy tea served from the genuine cowboy chuck wagon before taking an informative tour of the custom saddle shop. Learn some of the history of this iconic and magnificent breed of cattle whilst enjoying the yarns with our hosts. Also at Leahton Park we will get to see Water Buffalo, American Bison, African Watusi and Scottish Highland cattle. A unique and memorable Australian outback experience where the Aussie Bush meets the Old West! After a great morning, we make our way back into the township of Charters Towers allowing free time to purchase your own lunch. This afternoon, our local guide will show us all the highlights of Charters Towers, learning all about the last quarter of the 19 th century when the township of Charters Towers boomed as the rich gold deposits under the city were developed. We finish our day with a visit to the Venus Gold Battery. Lunch at own expense and arrangement OVERNIGHT: Cattlemans Rest Motor Inn, CHARTERS TOWERS DAY 12 Thursday 1st July, 2021 CHARTERS TOWERS TO ATHERTON Our drive today continues on the Great Inland Way passing through Greenvale, Lynd Junction, Mount Garnet and Innot Hot Springs. We stop to view the beautiful Millstream Falls, reputedly the widest single-drop falls in Australia. The next township is Ravenshoe. Take a big breath as we drive through, as we are in the highest town in Queensland. We stay on the Atherton Tablelands for the next 2 night stopover. OVERNIGHT: Atherton Motel , ATHERTON
DAY 13 Friday 2nd July, 2021 ATHERTON TABLELANDS A day of exploring the Atherton Tablelands in depth! Our first stop will be at the beautiful Millaa Millaa Waterfall, which is one of the most photographed falls in Australia, so bring your camera. From here we back track a little way and call in to the tiny township of Millaa Millaa, known as the “Village”. At the end of the street, there is a lovey pioneer statue of a cow and a dairy farmer. What makes the Tablelands so special is the combination of its geographic location in the Tropics (between 400 and 1,100 metres), and its pleasant climate along with the volcanic activities that have shaped parts of its landscape. One of the most dramatic examples of this is Lake Barrine – a beautiful volcanic crater lake. Lunch will be at the Tea House after taking a cruise on the lake. Our day hasn’t finished, as we visit the Curtain Fig Tree on our way to try some cheese tasting at Gallo Dairyland – a family owned business. This is a full working dairy that milks, makes cheese and delicious chocolates! After a great day out we return to our accommodation. OVERNIGHT: Atherton Motel, ATHERTON DAY 14 Saturday 3rd July, 2021 ATHERTON TO CAIRNS After breakfast we travel along the top of the Atherton Tablelands through the small town of Tolga – a timber town. If the Tolga Woodworks are open we will stop off for a short visit. Our morning tea stop will be at the Mareeba Heritage Museum, to enjoy some country hospitality at its best, with time to spend walking down memory lane. Kuranda Markets is our next stop allowing time to walk around the markets before taking the Skyrail down to Smithfield. This world heritage Skyrail, is the world’s longest gondola cableway, stretching 7.5 kilometres across the rainforest canopy. At the bottom the coach will meet us to take you directly to our motel in Cairns for the last night on the tour. Lunch at own expense and arrangement OVERNIGHT: Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, CAIRNS DAY 15 Sunday 4th July, 2021 CAIRNS TO MELBOURNE After breakfast, we pack our bags and with a late checkout, we can wander around the waterfront before we head off to Cairns Airport. Our direct flight takes us back to Melbourne, where as always, our chauffeurs await our arrival to take us home after a picturesque tour.

CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL These terms and conditions form the basis of the contract between You and O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours (O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours “We”, “Us”, or ”Our” contract). It is important that You read these terms and conditions carefully and that you understand your rights and obligations. By agreeing to participate in a tour arranged by Us, You are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions in full. Any special requests, dietary/personal must be notified to Our office at the time of booking. All efforts will be made to accommodate any special requests. It is your responsibility to advise O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours of any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate on the tour. No passenger will be permitted to embark on or continue the tour while their physical or mental condition is, in the opinion of any representative of O’Shannessy’s Quality tours, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or whereby they become objectionable to other passengers or they become a hazard to themselves or other passengers. Whilst on tour with O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours should a passenger require medical attention, discharge papers must be provided to a representative of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours before you are able to re-join the tour. O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours has a passenger code of conduct. O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours representatives/ crew or any associated carrier, reserves the right at its discretion to exclude from a tour or to terminate the travel arrangements of any person during the course of the tour without refund, of anyone who: Presents on the day of the tour departure as ill or unwell in any way, including but not limited to: cough, runny nose, sneezing, vomiting or temperature above 37.5 deg C Resides in an Australian suburb, which is the subject of a lockdown order by Your state government, Your request to book on one of Our tours may be denied Is incapable of caring for themselves without a minder/carer Is unable to cope with the requirements of the tour or who may need or require services or facilities that are not available Fails to comply with the reasonable instructions of O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours crew Engages in undesirable behaviour or interferes with the enjoyment of other passengers Is a hazard to themselves or other passengers and/or is likely to become objectionable to other passengers, O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours staff and or third party suppliers Anyone so excluded will be required to disembark at a safe public location, transport from which will be wholly their responsibility. However, if and where possible, O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours staff may assist in obtaining transport. You agree that O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours is released from all liability for You and You agree not to hold O’Shannessy’s Quality Tours responsible for termination of Your travel arrangements.
