CARA CASTRONUOVA’S (“The Biggest Loser”) WARRIOR GIRL GET FIT CAMP For girls ages 8-17 Hofstra University Monday-Friday July 1-12 (no camp July 4) Make Summer 2013 the BEST SUMMER EVER! STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY! Do you sometimes feel unhealthy and unhappy with yourself? Are you lacking in confidence? Do you want to feel strong, fit, and healthy? Do you want to like your body but don’t want the unfair pressure to be too thin or “perfect”? “Warrior Girl” is a new fitness and weight loss camp led by TV personality and celebrity fitness trainer Cara Castronuova of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”. It is a fun and empowering place for girls to sweat, work out, laugh, learn, dance, and have the time of their lives learning how to be healthy and fit. You’ll learn how to have fun and how to LOVE exercise, how to eat correctly for a healthy life, and learn about yourself in a program that focuses on positive self-image. There will be a nurturing support system of coaches (led by Cara Castronuova) that want nothing more than to see you get strong and confident. And you will make friendships with other girls that hopefully last a lifetime. “THE BIGGEST LOSER” TRAINER WILL HELP YOU BE THE BEST VERSION OF “YOU” POSSIBLE! Boxer and martial arts expert Cara Castronuova, who successfully trained contestants on NBC’s hit show, “The Biggest Loser” to lose THOUSANDS of pounds- will be at Hofstra University for a summer camp program like no other! She will personally teach you her secrets of fitness, nutrition, and strength! She will also teach you some really cool self-defense moves and boxing moves to defend yourself! MEET YOUR INNER WARRIOR GIRL! Cara believes that being “fit” includes not just exercise and diet, but most importantly the girl you are on the inside. The program will focus on health and wellness, NOT on superficial things like “looking hot.” While weight loss and body toning will obviously be a goal, we will focus more importantly on positive body image and self-acceptance. A PLAN DESIGNED JUST FOR YOU!
Cara will meet with each camper individually during the program to create a personalized plan. Cara will teach daily classes and workouts, and be available throughout the camp for guidance and support. Additionally, participants will have direct access by phone and email to Cara for additional questions. MEET OTHER GIRLS JUST LIKE YOU! ABOUT CARA CASTRONUOVA A two-time Golden Gloves winner and certified trainer, who was once ranked nationally by USA Boxing, Cara is a consummate athlete whose passion for boxing and being fit began very early in her childhood. Born and raised in Elmont, NY she began boxing at the age of five in the family garage with her father, a former Marine. She wrestled in high school and then as a student at Hofstra University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Cara went on to obtain a Master of Sports Science from the International Sports Science Association. She secured a job as a head trainer for Season 11 of “The Biggest Loser”, where she helped the contestants lose literally thousands of pounds of excess fat and to get their lives back together. Cara is currently working on a new reality show pilot, and a fitness DVD that she is running a test group for. Cara has also been training celebrities and athletes to reach their goals, and has started her Woman Warriors Boot Camp Program. “My real passion lies in training regular women to feel strong and beautiful,” says Cara. “That is why I started the Woman Warrior program”. Cara has trained extensively in martial arts and other fighting techniques, which led to acting opportunities as a stuntwoman and stunt coordinator, and worked as a reporter and fitness writer for various press outlets, and as an announcer and sports commentator for boxing venues including Madison Square Garden. Castronuova learned firsthand that, in boxing and in life, a comeback is important, and that fighting mentality has served her well, both professionally and personally. Now she looks forward to helping others find their “warrior within” and make their own comebacks on the road to good health.
