Tour Cost From AUD 9,900/Couple (AUD 4,950 pp Twin Share)
You are invited to join Trendsetter Travel’s NZ golf tour which culminates in attendance at the annual
Couples/Pairs Golf Tournament, to be held in 2021 at Cape Kidnappers. Your tour hosts are David Cooper
and Adrienne Witteman. Apart from playing 3 rounds at Cape Kidnappers, consistently rated in the world’s
top 50 courses, you will stay 3 nights at Cape Kidnappers, 4 nights in Napier, get to enjoy 2 games on local
Hawkes Bay courses and attend a day’s wine tasting including lunch at one of Hawkes Bay’s leading
wineries.
Cape Kidnappers is one of the most luxurious golf resorts in the world. Participating in this annual weekend
event is, by some margin, the best value proposition when staying and playing at Cape Kidnappers. Your 4
nights in Napier is at one of the best hotels in Napier, the 16 room boutique County Hotel with 5 suite room
upgrade options.

Due to travel restrictions, the tour has been moved to late September/early October 2021. Despite,
increased pricing by most suppliers, our tour pricing has been kept unchanged.
Tour transportation will be by coach.
Golf carts will be available for all 5 golf rounds (although for the 2 Hawkes Bay rounds, we have booked all
10 motorised carts which is insufficient for all our tour party) and are included in the tour cost. Carts will be
available for those that are unable to play without a cart. Pull buggies will be available for those that walk.
We look to avoid being rushed at golf – intending to arrive between 45 minutes and 60 minutes before 1st
tee off (we will have 2 tee or multiple tee starts booked at all courses – which should see all our party
complete their respective rounds within 30 minutes of one another) and have time for a refreshing drink
(complimentary other than at Cape Kidnappers) in the club rooms post golf. While you will participate in
the Cape Kidnappers 4BBB 36 hole 2 day event (with attractive prizes), we will run competitions at the 2
golf courses preceding Cape Kidnappers and include our additional independent 4 BBB competition over
the final 2 days at Cape Kidnappers. Strict rules of golf will apply other than the “Irish Rule” for lost balls in
the interests of speeding up play. We are staying in Spring when there is the prospect of good weather.
However this is NZ and there is no guarantee of brilliant weather regardless of the time of the year. The
option exists to extend your stay at Cape Kidnappers at the special unlimited golf package rate.
ITINERARY
Monday 27 September 2021
Fly to Napier and stay 4 nights at the County Hotel, located down town in Napier. We have chosen this
hotel due to it being one of the 2 best hotels in Napier and an easy walk to many of the leading Napier
restaurants. There are flights (all connecting through either Wellington or Auckland) arriving late evening
from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Trendsetter will provide coach transfers to the County Hotel to
meet the late evening Auckland to Napier flight (due to arrive at 8.30 pm – coach pick up time will alter if
flight scheduling changes). Should you choose to arrive on an alternative flight, you will need to make your
own way to our hotel at your own cost (it is only a short 10 minute taxi ride). The cost of the international
flight to and from Napier is NOT included. We have deferred our welcome 2 course private dinner
(including standard beer and wines) in the main dining room of the County Hotel to Tuesday given the
flights recently rescheduled late arrival.
Lead in rooms at County Hotel all include either a King or Queen Bed with shower. Upgraded room options
include:
Spa Suite (3) – larger room with Super King Bed, Spa Bath and separate shower (extra AUD 400 for
4 nights)
Honeymoon Suite (1) – even larger room with Super King Bed, Spa Tub and separate shower (extra
AUD 600 for 4 nights)
Vice Regal Suite (1) – largest Suite including ornate finishes, separate lounge, spa bath and separate
shower (extra AUD 800 for 4 nights)

Tuesday 28 September 2021
Following breakfast, we depart by coach at 11.00 am for 30 minute drive to play Hastings Golf Club (often
know as Bridge Pa), traditionally rated the # 1 course in Hawkes Bay (excluding Cape Kidnappers). We have
booked a 2 tee start from 12.30 pm – the late tee time is useful just in case your golf clubs arrive on a later
connecting flight to Napier and also to provide additional time to adjust to the 2 hour time shift.
7.30 pm - Welcome tour dinner (including standard beer and wines).
Wednesday 29 September 2021
Following breakfast, we depart at 8 45 am for a short 10 minute coach transfer to play Napier Golf Club
where we have a two tee start from 10.00 am.
Independent dining this evening.
Thursday 30 September 2021
We have a non-golf day. After a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a walk around historic Napier with its
many famous Art Deco buildings (Napier was totally destroyed after the famous 1931 earthquake and was
rebuilt with many of the original buildings constructed in the then fashionable Art Deco style), we will
depart by coach at 11.15 am for a 15 minute drive to Mission Estate, one of Hawkes Bay’s leading wineries.
But more importantly, Mission Estate is reknowned for its winery lunches at its famous Convent
homestead. We have a private pre lunch drinks and wine tasting from 12 noon with a two course lunch
from 1 pm. Wine tasting, pre lunch drinks, lunch and standard wines/beers/soft drinks are included as part
of your tour cost. We expect to depart around 3.30 pm.

Friday 1 October 2021
In order to maximise our time at Cape Kidnappers, our coach will leave early at 7.45 am for the
approximate 45 minute drive to Cape Kidnappers, where we have a shot gun tee start at 9.30 am. After
golf, check into your luxurious rooms at
The Farm at Cape Kidnappers. As the
property only has a maximum of 26
rooms, this limits the tournament to a
maximum of 26 pairs. Our group will
obviously dominate the tournament
numbers (and hopefully the podium).
Since December 2019, Cape Kidnappers
and Kauri Cliffs announced a change in
policy whereby lunch (but not drinks) is
included in the room rate – previously
lunches needed to be purchased on your
private account other than lunch on the
Sunday following completion of the
tournament. Our tour price includes the
4 day/3 night Cape Kidnappers stay
comprising Friday’s practice round (including carts), tournament rounds on Saturday and Sunday (carts are
included both days), wonderful prizes, from 6.00 pm a cocktail hour (plus) followed by dinner on all 3
nights, breakfast all 3 mornings, lunches on all days and a complimentary mini bar in your luxury room
(traditionally includes local beers, local wines, soft drinks and home made cookies). However, you will need
3to pay for wines over dinner each night – we expect to organise a private selection at substantially discount
to carded prices.
As you will be a Virtuoso booking, you will also be entitled to a USD 100 spa credit and a room upgrade
subject to availability. Our bookings will be in the Hill Top Suites (46.5 sqm) and upgrades would be to the
deluxe Ridge Suites (63 sqm) and Lodge Suites (65 sqm). Irrespective, all suites are large and luxurious.
Traditionally, around half of our rooms are accorded complimentary upgrades.
Saturday 2 October 2021
After a relaxing breakfast, there is a
circa 9 am two tee start for the 1st
round of the Pairs Tournament (exact
times will be advised the previous
evening). The competition is a
stableford event based upon your slope
adjusted GA handicaps where the best
ball of each 2 ball pair is counted each
hole and then aggregated over the 18
holes. The winning scores are the best 2
ball scores over the full 36 holes (that is
18 holes on each of Saturday and Sunday). Tee times and playing groups are drawn by Cape Kidnappers
and advised the night before each round. This is a very well run event. You should have a few hours free
time between the conclusion of your round and drinks from 6.00 pm
Sunday 3 October 2021
Today is the 2nd round of the Pairs Tournament, after which there will be a buffet lunch and prize giving.
Unlike our visit 2 years previously, we will stay the Sunday night at Cape Kidnappers which will allow a few
hours free time at the resort post lunch and before pre-dinner drinks.
Monday 4 October 2021
Our tour concludes post breakfast and we have organised a coach transfer at approximately 10.00 am (for a
10.15 am departure) for the 45 to 60 minutes transfer to Napier Airport to catch the 12.20 pm currently
scheduled Napier to Auckland flight (to connect with your return flights to Australia). Complimentary
transfers will NOT be provided if you choose to leave at a different time.

4Costings
The cost for the highly inclusive tour package is from AUD 9,900/couple or AUD 4,950 pp twin share. This
includes your Cape Kidnappers 4 day/3 night package, 4 nights additional hotel accommodation in Napier
(including breakfast), all coach transfers (including airport transfers), all green fees, motorised carts, drinks
post golf (other than at Cape Kidnappers), Tuesday evening welcome dinner (including standard drinks),
golf prize money, wine tasting and lunch (including standard drinks) at Mission Estate and all gratuities.
Costings do not include your return flights to NZ/Napier and evening dinners Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday.

Total Price Payable is from AUD 9,900/couple (unchanged from previous pricing notwithstanding supplier
price increases). You can extend your stay at Cape Kidnappers post our tour at a cost of AUD
2,285/couple which is a rate inclusive of unlimited golf.
35% Deposit is payable at the time of booking (AUD 3,500/couple)
Balance due 4 months prior to departure (on 25 May 2021) (range from AUD 6,400 to AUD
7,200/couple)

120 - 91 days – full refund less 25% penalty
90 - 61 days – full refund less 50% penalty

Special Covid 19 condition:
Should travel restrictions be enacted by the New Zealand or Australian Government in relation to
Covid-19 containment efforts, either regional or international, and that prevent the guests
reasonable arrival to Cape Kidnappers, necessary cancellations will result in no penalty provided it
is received by the property 30 days prior to arrival. Deposits paid will be refundable. Should New
Zealand or Australian Government restrictions occur within 30 days or the scheduled arrival, the
full value of deposits paid will be available as credit to be applied towards rescheduled dates.
