COUNCILLOR CANDIDATE Stephen Andrew Contact info: info@stephenandrew.ca stephenandrew.ca Twitter: @stephen_andrew Facebook: stephenandrewnews Instagram: stephen_andrewbc I believe a council must listen and act in the interest of ALL in the City of Victoria. I enter this byelection without a manifesto or desire to audition for a higher office, but as someone who wants to see our city run efficiently. This means dealing with the priorities assigned to a local government including; maintenance of roads, sewers and other infrastructure, to guard the official community plan, protect an environment that is sustainable and healthy to ensure citizens are safe with a resourced police and fire department. I believe in affordable housing. I believe in an housing first strategy, but it must be supported housing with dignity and a real opportunity to live a healthy life. I speak from experience. As a young man I have been homeless twice. And to achieve all our goals, we must promote an environment that supports and encourages business, tourism and development. COUNCILLOR CANDIDATE Jeremy L. Caradonna Contact info: jeremycaradonnayyj@gmail.com Electjeremy.ca Facebook: Jeremy L. Caradonna I am an independent, progressive candidate with an abundance of professional experience, a strong leadership record, and years of dedicated service to this community. I teach evenings in Environmental Studies at UVic and work full time as a climate policymaker for the Province. I am a former small business owner who values fiscal responsibility and community resilience. I am also the father of two daughters at South Park Family School. The focus of my campaign is affordable housing (increase supply and develop holistically, while preserving ‘old’ Victoria), climate action (entice homeowners off of natural gas and oil & improve public transit), and making politics less divisive in Victoria. We don’t need slates or municipal parties, we need independent leaders who can solve complex problems via good listening, good governance and respectful dialogue. Better leadership and Consultation will solve many of our problems – and get the Crystal Pool built! Electjeremy.ca. city of victoria | Candidate Pofiles 2020
COUNCILLOR CANDIDATE Peter Forbes Contact info: peterforbescouncil@gmail.com My name is Peter Forbes a.k.a. Positive Pete, Peaches and a couple of other names. Victoria has been my home like yours for many years and I care about our community a great deal. The purpose of putting my name forward for council is to gain a greater understanding of what is actually going on at City Hall. I have a background in small community living which fosters the necessity to communicate and ask questions directly and respectfully. I have no real agenda except to find out where and how efficiently our City is working. This includes City Hall Municipal Staff, Public Works, Fire and Police. Are we satisfied with how our City is being maintained? Are our roads, infrastructure and basic services performing as well as possible? I will ask questions and be very curious! Thank you for your consideration for my bid to be your councillor. Candidate Profiles 2020 | city of victoria
