This project was financed by an aid of over a quarter million Indian rupees provided by the Rotary Club of Burnaby Hastings, Rotary District 504, Canada on the one hand and resources in men, money and materials raised by the Rotary Club of Lucknow Khaas of Rotary District 312. AMRITSAR The Canadian Deputy High Commissioner to India, His Excellency Mr. Gary Smith, accompanies by his First Secretary- Development, and five delegate Rotarians 27 JANUARY 2019 AJAY NAGAR from Burnaby, Canada, visited some of the camps and made a first hand appraisal of the enormity of medical problems in rural India 01 FEBRUARY 2020 and the contribution made in this field by PROJECT EYESIGHT 1989. Rotarian Jagdish K Hansraj, Secretary— Organizing Committee of the Rotary Club of Lucknow Khaas recollects: • The committee decided that mid- December will be the right time to start the camps; THATI KHARA • Increase the number of patients per camp and decrease the total number of camps to reduce overheads; 10 MARCH 2019 AMRITSAR • Enlarging the area of publicity to maximize coverage; • Greater involvement of local population in 29 FEBRUARY 2020 the management of camps. • Rotary Club of Lucknow Khaas will provide planning and organizational expertise and the equipment and infrastructure from its own resources. A boy born blind has seen this beautiful world again with the help of Canadian Eyesight Global and Rotary support Gurpreet Sing, a boy born blind in 2009, when he was 3 months old inflicted cataract in both eyes, came to the CEG Eye Camp in Amritsar, India. Canadian Eyesight Global's eye surgeon Rtn. Dr. Bhupinder Singh, MS, Chief Consultant at the Nirmaljot Eye Hospital, Amritsar. We did a very special surgery which had to be done in the general anesthesia and very special type of Intraocular lenses had to be implanted in the case of such small children. The surgery was very successful. Now he is 12 years of age and is studying in 6th Standard (6th Grade). He is a very intelligent boy.
