The '78 Sleepmaster

Our incredibly
humble start.
After arriving from Austria in 1938, a major Melbourne retailer offered
cash in advance for 100 polyester quilts. It was this opportunity that enabled
the purchase of our first quilting machine. Ever since then, we use the latest
technology in our production process. Paul was born in 1945 and studied
textiles engineering in the 1960's. Over time, Paul grew into the Sleepmaster
family business, bringing with him his innovative ideas and new solutions.
Paul became the principal of Sleepmaster during the 1970’s.
From these humble beginnings the business grew from a small family
operation, into a privately owned, professionally run company, yet it still retains
the family atmosphere amongst its' employees, suppliers and customers.
The creation of SlumberTrek Australia Pty Ltd.
Sleepmaster was sold in 1995 and in July of the same year, we saw the
beginning of SlumberTrek Australia Pty Ltd. The business has evolved from
a camping supplier, to broader consumer lifestyle products.
