Camp is fun in the sun – and so much more! Away from home in the caring environment of summer camp, girls learn and grow so much. They take responsibility for caring for themselves. They contribute in a group environment, pursuing things that are meaningful to them. They discover the best version of themselves. Camp is uniquely suited for supporting this growth based on independence, new opportunities, and a warm community. Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas summer camps are spaces for friendship and sisterhood. All of our sites offer classic camp experiences like archery, arts & crafts, team building, swimming, campfires, sing-alongs, and games. As a girl grows in the program, they have the opportunity to take the lead with meaningful mentorship from amazing role models. Each property has its own special identity and collection of offerings. Details for each camp property can be found on their page of this guide. Camp Bette Perot Camp Bette Perot is all about the horses and a trip to the barn is the highlight of each day. Hands-on horse activities include trail rides, arena classes, and much more! Campers can also swim, practice archery, and complete ropes course challenges. They’ll try their hands at leatherworking, wilderness exploration, and more. Camp activities progress by age. Camp Gambill Enjoy waterfront and wilderness activities on a peaceful lake. Cozy cabins make for a comfortable stay. On the water, Girl Scouts can swim, kayak, sail, and paddleboat. Camp Rocky Point Waterfront fun, target sports, and cool new crafts on the shores of Lake Texoma. Adventure is the name of the game. Platform tents provide a camping experience unlike any other. The waterfront is alive with swimming, log-rolling, paddleboarding, and canoeing. On land, Girl Scouts will try archery and other target sports, woodworking, and more. Resident Camp Leadership Programs The Counselor-and Mariner-in-Training program (CIT and MIT) is our all-new leadership program integrated into camp for Girl Scout Seniors. Girls have all the fun of the full camp experience with their peers while practicing leadership skills and contributing to the entire camp community. Throughout the week, CIT/MITs and Wranglers-in-Training (WITs) get to mentor a group of younger girls and/or assist with daily camp activities. They also get intentional teambuilding and challenge activities that help them reflect on who they want to be, develop their voices, and grow their service to others. Plus, as older girls, they get some special privileges and chances to choose activities. The STEM Center The STEM Center is a 90-acre living laboratory in Dallas. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are all around you when you’re in nature. This summer, enjoy traditional camp activities like swimming, hiking, archery, and teambuilding, while also getting hands on with cooking, aviation, robotics and chemistry. Available transportation options are a seperate registration. All camp registrations require a $100 non-refundable deposit be paid online.
