About Business to Arts Established in 1988, Business to Arts is a membership-based, charitable organisation (CHY 9871, RCN: 20024741) that brokers, enables and supports creative partnerships between businesses, individuals and the arts. We work with our corporate members on arts sponsorship, commissioning, corporate social responsibility programmes, internal and external communications and event programming. We also work with artists and arts organisations providing a range of training opportunities and coaching to help diversify income streams, grow audiences and enhance strategic planning. We are known for our in-house programmes, which include the Business to Arts Awards, our annual showcase of leading corporate and cultural partnerships in Ireland; Fundit.ie our crowdfunding website; and New Stream our arts fundraising capacity-building programme. Our corporate network ranges across the business sectors from local family-run companies, SMEs, universities, semi-state companies to FDIs and corporate foundations. Our arts affiliate base extends from individual artists to the National Cultural Institutions, and includes all art forms. We have approximately 300 members and affiliates. Business to Arts CEO Forum in association with PwC Biographies Dearbhail McDonald is an award-winning Journalist, Author and Broadcaster. Dearbhail is a global Eisenhower Fellow, the former Group Business Editor of Independent News Media and a recipient of the Mary Cummins Award for Women of Outstanding Achievement in Media. The Newry-born writer served as a board member of Fighting Words, Ireland’s national creative writing centre for children and young adults. She received an inaugural Dublin City University Special Alumni Achievement Award for her contribution to public affairs journalism and is an Irish Tatler Media Woman of the Year. Dearbhail holds an LLB (Law) from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters Degree in Journalism from Dublin City University. Cathal Marley was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ervia in 2020. He joined Ervia in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer, and has over 20 years’ experience in the utilities and infrastructure sector, having previously worked in senior roles across the electricity industry with ESB. He holds an MBA from Michael Smurfit Business School, UCD, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Council Member of the IMI and a member of the DCU Audit Committee. His early career was spent with EY in Dublin and Eastern Europe. Tania Banotti is the Director of Creative Ireland. Creative Ireland is a 5 year ‘all-of-government programme’ involving many government departments, state and semi-state agencies, local authorities, NGOs, communities and individuals. Tania has a background managing creative organisations. She has previously held the role of CEO of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners of Ireland, the professional body for creative and media ad agencies. She was the first Director of Theatre Forum, the representative body for theatre and the performing arts, and one of the founders and then Secretary of the National Campaign for the Arts. She was also Chief Executive of Screen Producers Ireland, the association for TV, animation and feature film production companies. #BtoACEOForum
Business to Arts CEO Forum in association with PwC Biographies Virginia Teehan is the Chief Executive of the Heritage Council and a cultural leader with significant experience in the fields of heritage protection and interpretation with a wealth of executive and non-executive experience across museums and galleries and universities. As a professional archivist and curator, Virginia established the first University Archives service in the third level sector and has worked with UCC, the Hunt Museum, Limerick, and as Executive Producer for the RTÉ/UCC award winning three-part documentary The Atlas of the Irish Revolution. As a curator, researcher and lecturer, Virginia has lectured and published extensively on art history and her special interest in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement. She has curated over eighty exhibitions in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany and the USA. Feargal O’Rourke is the Managing Partner of PwC Ireland and a member of the PwC EMEA Leadership Team. Prior to this he was the Head of PwC Ireland’s Tax and Legal Services practice. He played a major role in the Irish and Global Tax policy debate and shared platforms with Irish and foreign politicians as well as key OECD tax officials. He has been appointed by a number of Irish Governments to various roles including serving on the board of Forfás and as one of Ireland’s “independent persons of standing” under the terms of the EU Double Taxation Arbitration Convention. He works primarily in the Foreign Direct Investment sector of PwC and has 25 years Partner experience advising US companies, on their operations in Ireland and Europe. David McRedmond was appointed Chief Executive Officer of An Post in 2016. He has led the Company’s Transformation programme and return to financial stability, revenue growth and profit. David is personally driving An Post’s Sustainability Charter, having positioned Climate Action; Decent Work & Economic Growth; Sustainable Cities & Communities; Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure; and Responsible Consumption & Production at the centre of An Post’s business transformation strategy. He was previously CEO of TV3, Commercial Director of Eircom and Managing Director of Eircom Enterprises. David was appointed chairman of Eir in 2018; he is a director of Premier Lotteries Ireland (the National Lottery) and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. #BtoACEOForum
