Thursday February 18, 2021
We are very excited to invite you to participate in our third Virtual Community
Connections event of the 2020 - 2021 school Year. This event will take place virtually Principal’s
on Thursday, February 18th, through zoom sessions. Parents will have the opportunity Message

We also are holding our Virtual evening Registration Event for our current 6th and 7th
grade students. Parents and students will receive information on how to fill out our
2021-2022 course card for next year's classes. Participants will receive information
about the variety of electives to choose from, a description of the courses,
any prerequisites needed for certain courses, and information about our high school
credit classes. There will be time for a question/answer session if needed. To participate

five PBIS Rewards points for each session they attend. These points will be added to the Pages 5 - 6
students’ PBIS Rewards balance. It’s an evening you won't want to miss!

Hello Bulldog families!
The following items below are important reminders for parents:
Check your parent and student portal. If you have not created your parent portal account, follow this link
for instructions.
Is the contact information in the portal correct? Do we have the correct phone number, email, and mailing
address on file for you? If not, this is an opportunity to update your information through your parent portal
account. Click on Forms Summary and find the emergency card link to make any necessary changes.
Attendance is key to student success. Follow this link for information related to student success and
achievement. Whether your student is attending virtual or in-person, attendance is taken and is a priority
for Pasco County Schools.
Read the Spring 20-21 Education Plan for additional information related to the health and safety of your
student.

Early Release Days are back!
Beginning January 13, Pasco County Schools will be
implementing a two-hour early release day every month.
Each of the four early release days (January 13 - February 3
- March 3 - April 7) will fall on a Wednesday. There will be
no early release day in May.
On each of the early release days, students will be released
two hours early. The bell times, including the early release
times for each school, can be found here. The early release
days, which were implemented for the first time last school
year, provide teachers with an opportunity to complete
professional development and experience training that will
help increase effective instruction and ultimately will benefit
students.
Students who are registered in the district’s PLACE program will be able to stay the extra two
hours with no additional charges. School buses will operate two hours earlier during early release
days. The routes and bus stops will not change.

What to do when your student is Quarantined?
When a student has to be quarantined due to being exposed to a
positive COVID case, they are to complete their class work in their
myLearning courses (http://launchpad/classlink.com/dsbpc). Each
course has "Smarthinking Online Tutoring" to assist students with
completing their work; this tutoring is free and available 24/7 for
ALL secondary courses. IF a teacher has a zoom session for the
students class period, they are welcomed to join. Please know not all
classes have zoom sessions through out the day.
Please ask your child to follow these instructions:
If you are feeling well enough to do your schoolwork at home, you are welcome to continue your classes
and classwork.
Your schedule will not change. You will not be moved to a MySchool Online schedule. You will stay with
your current teacher(s), but your work will be completed through the MyLearning App.
Log in and complete whatever work you feel well enough to do.
To submit your completed work, snap a picture, upload it, and submit it through MyLearning.
Work packets will not be sent home. Please go in MyLearning to complete your classwork.
If you get stuck, email your teacher through your Outlook app or within Canvas. Under “Help” click the
button labeled “Ask Your Instructor (Teacher) a Question”.
If you don’t have a computer, or you are not feeling well enough to do work, don’t worry, your teachers
will help you get caught up when you return.

Honor Roll Students and Families,
Congratulations on your academic achievements this quarter! You should be proud of all that you have
accomplished. It takes a great amount of dedication, effort, and time to get to where you are now. This should
serve as a reminder that each and every one of you are extremely capable of achieving the goals you have set
for yourself.
In an effort to show our appreciation for a job well done, we organized an award ceremony on Thursday,
February 4th. During the ceremony, students received their Honor Roll certificate, dog tags, and a prize.
Due to COVID-19 protocols, we were unable to invite families to the ceremony this year, but students
enrolled on MyStudent Online and parents were invited to participate in the ceremony by ZOOM. MSOL
parents are also able to pick up their Honor Roll Certificates in the front office between 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
