Purpose To keep people of Bugbrooke informed on all matters affecting them at this extraordinary time. Latest Advice Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service We are still being called out to increased numbers of bonfires. If planning gardening projects, please consider the amount of waste they can produce and whether it can be composted. Please avoid burn- ing garden waste. Bonfires can easily spread out of control. #NorthantsTogether Facebook 17th April Northamptonshire Police- Coronavirus Update Northamptonshire Police Coronavirus Update Hello, The aim of this message is to reassure you and the community in the current climate of International uncertainty. I guess the question is how does Coronavirus affect the current Sponsorship PCSO role. Having spo- ken to my line manager currently it is business as normal (or as normal as it can be in uncertain times). A number of back office Police Support staff have been asked to work from home, and those who need to work in buildings like our Justice Centre at Brackmills or our Response Hub at Daventry have been spread out to sites such as Towcester Station to minimise spread of infection. I am working out of Towcester myself, the reason for this is to reduce my need to use our Force wifi network, giving room for other essential users who may need to work from home. I will still patrol around both Bugbrooke and Nether Heyford and these will be a mixture of both foot and vehicle patrols. Liaising with local business and ensuring social distancing measures are com- plied with. From being on patrol yesterday I noted many people were trying to avoid one another with- out the need for draconian enforcement. Obviously we have had to suspend Community Surgeries for the time being, the locations where these are held are closed for the forseable anyway. I will not be visiting people unless there is a specific operational need to. Out of respect will try to avoid those who may fall into the governments category of elderly or vulnerable. I am available on the phone by dialing 101 extension 345806, my phone is on if I am on duty. Alterna- tively you can email me Matt.Taylor@northants.pnn.police.uk. If you wish to report a crime or incident to us, if there is no haste it is recommended you do this online at www.northants.police.uk. I will see crimes recorded on the ward on the daily briefing that I am pro- vided with. Obviously you can do this by phone on either 101 or 999 if the matter is more time critical. Please be mindful of what you share on social media, there are a lot of sources of false information, they only serve to fuel peoples worries and concerns. Please use the latest government briefings at www.gov.uk/coronavirus for any updates. Please feel free to share my twitter account @pcsomatthew so you can see some of my activities. Importantly stay safe, stay well. Also to Northamptonshire Community Foundation for the grant of £3,000 for the purchase of a stock of non-perishable goods, and to South Northants Food and Education Alliance, who organised the delivery of boxes to enable us to supplement the supermarket collections. Dave Clayson, Facebook 2nd April Bugbrooke Food Distribution Scheme -We began the operation of our surplus food distribution scheme
in July of last year. We collect from Aldi, Tesco and Waitrose stores twice a week. Given the recent restrictions on movements, we are switching to a delivery system with effect from Friday, 27th March. If there are any villagers that are suffering hardship as a result of the current emergency, then please con- tact me to discuss how we may help. David Clayson Contact details:dave.clayson@gmail.com 07802 333908 26th March 2020 Bugbrooke Surplus Food Scheme: we will be opening tomorrow, as usual, 5.00-5.30pm. Visitors must queue outside at least 2 metres apart (if you do not do so, you will be asked to leave!), and will be invited in one at a time. Thereafter, we will be running a delivery only service, so those attending tomorrow will be able to fill in a form to request the service. We will be coordinating this service with the Bugbrooke Volun- teer initiatives. The Parish Council will be financially supporting both services - many thanks for their help. Facebook Dave Clayson 24th March Bugbrooke Surplus Food Distribution Scheme: I am excited to tell you that the Church Council (the team that are responsible for St Michael and All Angels Church) has just donated £10,000 to support all the ef- forts to help those most affected by the current crisis. The funds are being taken from those set aside for the maintenance and repair of the Sunday School buildings (over £30,000 has had to be spent on them in the last 2 years). The money will go to support any expansion of the food distribution scheme that may bDe required, to buy ingredients for Phillippa and her team if they need to cook and distribute food, to Louise's volunteer army, and to those who may have problems before the Government's support packages kick-in. Let me know if you, or anyone you know, is in that position. Thank you Church for your incredible gift.—facebook - Dave Clayson 21st March Bugbrooke Surplus Food Distribution: a big thank you to Heygates for 410kgs of flour for us to use to sup- port villagers through the crisis. Patients and Staff safety is paramount.—Bugbrooke Surgery 20th March Feedback— I just had a video conference appointment with a Dr at Bugbrooke medical practice. It was abso- lutely fantastic and really easy to do! Well done Bugbrooke surgery for adapting so quickly and ef- fectively to all that is going on in the world! What a great service! - facebook Sarah Wilcox 24th March Latest from the Pharmacy Unprecedented times means unprecedented measures. Which is why I have taken the decision to open Bugbrooke Pharmacy on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday from 10-5pm. I will be running with minimal staff to allow the team to have a much needed physical and mental rest and we will not be offering our delivery service as well as having the Post Office closed over those two days. From Tuesday 14th April I have decided to reduce the opening hours of the Post Office to 10.00- 17.00 so I can manage my team in the safest manner and limit non-essential visits which unfortu- nately I have seen increase over the past week. I would also like to remind everyone we are only taking card payments for the pharmacy and the Post office. The only exceptions being with the Post Office where cash deposits and for those who need to top up their gas or electricity cards being allowed. Finally, being limited in size and struggling to enforce safe distancing I have decided to limit access to the pharmacy as well as the Post Office to one person at a time. Thank you for your understanding over this difficult time and I would like to wish yourself and your loved ones all the best. Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save lives. Kind regards Ranjit@Bugbrooke Pharmac - facebook 8th April 2020 Midwife —Laura Ducker I’m the midwife at bugbrooke. On annual leave this next week so no clinics, but from 30th when I am back - all clinics will run as they normally do. Just please don’t come in to the surgery if you have any symptoms (cough/high temp) or if anybody in your household has symp- toms or self isolating.! Some appointments may be performed over the phone. This may change over the coming weeks however you will be contacted if any changes occur that will affect you. Until then stay safe and continue social distancing. (Facebook –21st March) General Assistance
Transport help Public transport situation Stagecoach Revised timetables in operation from Monday 30th March 2020 Following the Prime Ministers announcement imposing further restrictions on movements on Monday 23rd March, we have had to review the services that were due to come into effect from 30th March. Instead, we will run a level of service similar to Sundays with additional journeys added early morn- ing and in the evening to cater for NHS staff and key worker shift patterns. We will also run a limited service in areas that don’t have Sunday routes to avoid areas being cut off. In line with the Prime Minister’s announcements we would ask our customers to only travel if essen- tial for them to do so D2, D3 Buses will run a Sunday service all week. We would invite you to stand at 3pm and raise a glass of refreshment of your choice and say the following toast: “For those that gave so much, we thank you”.
