The Conservatives believe that the government plans on running massive deficits for the federal government should consider next half decade — with no real plan to balance the measures that address mortgage budget. rules, the tax code, foreign buyers, and money laundering. In fact, as a result of these massive deficits, interest costs on the debt are expected to double over the next five years. That means fewer dollars in five years to pay for healthcare and social programs. It also means higher taxes and a growing risk of inflation. The Liberal government has proposed scattered new spending, but the budget fails to address the most important task at hand: delivering vaccines to provinces so that we can emerge from the third wave of the pandemic. To improve the Canadian economy, Canada’s Conservatives are proposing a Canada Recovery Plan. The plan secures Canadians’ personal finances by recovering millions of jobs in the sectors hit hardest by the pandemic, helping those who have suffered the most, including women, seniors, and young people. We also need to ensure that stimulus measures are targeted and time-limited to avoid creating a structural deficit. Finally, we need to get the economy growing again after years of slow growth, so that we have the revenue to pay for government services that Canadians rely on.
