2018-19 SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION
Dear Prospective Sponsor:
Thank you for considering a sponsorship for the upcoming Missoula Jr. Bruins
season. The Missoula Jr. Bruins are a member of the North American 3 Hockey
League (NA3HL). The Missoula Jr. Bruins are owned by Jason and Liz DiMatteo of
Missoula. Jason and Liz are active members of Missoula’s hockey community and
are excited to connect and network with organizations in the Missoula community.
The generosity of individuals and businesses like you make our Missoula Jr.
Bruins hockey program successful and strong! Here are four reasons why you
should sponsor the Missoula Jr. Bruins.
• Increase awareness of your company’s products and services. Each
sponsorship package has benefits for the sponsor built in: signage, website
advertising, company name on uniforms, etc. Through a sponsorship, a
company’s brand will be in front of the hockey market of parents, coaches,
program organizers, players and fans.
• A welcomed form of advertising. In most settings consumers are inclined
to tune out advertising. Although many traditional ways of reaching
consumers are failing, hockey sponsorships are a positive and engaging
way to market a brand. Parent’s, coaches, players and fans like to see the
companies that are supporting local sports.

costs vary from organization to organization, they commonly range from
$100 up to $5,000+. When comparing the cost of other marketing outlets

contribution to their community. Overall this can evoke a community-wide
feeling that a company understands the impact and importance of sports.

THE BRUINS AND THE NA3HL
The Team
The NA3HL announced the lone expansion team for the 2016-17 season
in the Missoula Jr. Bruins back on May 31, 2016. Missoula, a former
AWHL market prior to its merger with the NA3HL in 2013-14, lies directly
in the heart of the NA3HL Frontier Division footprint of Montana and
Wyoming, which will now consist of eight teams. The Junior Bruins will
became the league’s 48th member club overall.
The team is owned and operated by Jason and Liz DiMatteo. The team
will play its home games out of Glacier Ice Rink. Glacier Ice Rink is located on the grounds of the Missoula
County Fairgrounds. The Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association (MAYHA), a nonprofit organization,
operates the rink.
The Bruins have hired Cliff Cook to be the team’s second head coach in franchise history with the departure
of long-time coach Marcus Baxter. Coach Cook has over 20 years coaching experience from the Mite level
through Juniors. While this is Coach Cook’s first year in the NA3HL, he has three years junior experience in
the WSHL, a season in the now defunct MnJHL and a season in the USPHL. While in the MnJHL and USPHL
he helped lead teams to league championships and USA Hockey Junior National Tournament appearances,
including a National runner-up finish with the USPHL’s New York Aviators in 2015.
Glacier Ice Rink
The Glacier Ice Rink is a two-sheet ice arena located in Missoula,
Montana. It is operated by the Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association
(MAYHA), a non profit organization whose mission is to “provide
recreational opportunities for learning and playing the game of hockey and
other ice skating activities for children and adults in our community.” The
rink is open 10 months a year and offers youth and adult hockey leagues,
hockey tournaments and public skating sessions. Glacier Ice Rink is also
home to the Missoula Figure Skating Club, the Missoula Curling Club, the Missoula Referees Association, and
the Women’s Hockey Association of Missoula (WHAM).
The League
Entering its eighth season in 2017-18, the North American 3
Hockey League (NA3HL), one of 6 USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier
III Junior leagues, serves as one of the top training grounds in the
country by providing the best coaching, exposure and developmental
vehicles available for student-athletes in its classification.
The primary mission of the NA3HL, which is managed
organizationally by the NAHL, is to provide a structured developmental
environment for student-athletes whose youth options are limited but are
still reaching their potential and have aspirations of playing in the NAHL or United States Hockey League
(USHL) and eventually the NCAA or American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).
In addition to its regular-season schedule and playoffs, the NA3HL, which boasts a geographical
footprint with 47 teams in 21 states (Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,
Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming) allowing players to compete and excel
academically at home, will participate in the NAHL’s high-exposure events, which attract hundreds of
college, junior and professional coaches and scouts.
