We believe in all children achieving their maximum potential through personalised learning. We aim to prepare our children to be responsible citizens who have the confidence, resilience and adaptability to meet the challenges of the changing world. Our School Motto: ‘Children First’
Broadway Primary School Our Exciting Curriculum At Broadway Primary School we believe that the curriculum should be active, fun and engaging. Our teachers share a common philosophy towards education and strive to provide learning activities which are interactive and ‘hands on’. Teachers at Broadway have high expectations of the children and support them to achieve their full potential. During our morning sessions, a strong emphasis is placed on the development of key literacy and numeracy skills. Maths is skilfully taught across the school and children leave us at the age of eleven with a good understanding of key mathematical concepts. The school also achieves high standards in reading and writing. At Broadway we particularly encourage children to take great pride in their written work. During the afternoon we focus on the wider curriculum. Each class enjoys a new topic each half term which is planned to capture their interest whilst giving them a good understanding of the key skills required across the curriculum in ICT, History, Geography, Science, Religion, Art, Technology and Personal, Social and Health Education. Topics are taught with a cross curricular approach and teachers aim to include a visitor to the school to enhance the learning or a school trip each half term. “Our School is Four Walls Containing the Future”
Broadway Primary School Being Active and Healthy Broadway Primary has been awarded ‘Healthy School’ status for our commitment to helping the children to develop a healthy lifestyle. Encouraging children to engage in sport is very important to us. We also have excellent links with our local high school which enables us to use the sports facilities usually enjoyed by secondary school children. The school also offers outdoor and adventurous activities to our Year 6 children. Each year we organise a residential holiday for our older children which gives them the opportunity to join in with more extreme sports such as abseiling, canoeing and rock climbing. The importance of leading a healthy lifestyle is taught through our well developed curriculum for Personal, Social and Health Education. The school has achieved recognition for the work we do in this area. “Our School is Four Walls Containing the Future”
Broadway Primary School Thinking of Others At Broadway we encourage the children to think about others. Behaviour at Broadway is outstanding and our positive behaviour policy encourages children to think about how their behaviour impacts upon others. All members of our school community show respect for each other. Charity work is an important part of school life at Broadway. We regularly organise activities to raise money for charities in the local area and overseas in order to help our children to understand the importance of thinking of others. We have raised money for ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’, ‘Hearing Dogs for the Deaf’ and once bought an entire farmyard of animals for an African Village! During the school year we hold a number of events to which we invite parents, carers and grandparents. Our Christmas performances are always popular . Throughout the year, classes take turns to lead a parents’ assembly during which they show the school community what they have been learning in class. Parents are always welcome at our Harvest Service and there is also a special day at Christmas time on which we invite grandparents and senior citizens in for a coffee afternoon. By organising these events we aim to teach our children the importance of community. “Our School is Four Walls Containing the Future”
Broadway Primary School Find Your Talent! At Broadway we aim to provide as many opportunities for each child to find their talent. This happens everyday in our classrooms as teachers work hard to ensure that pupils of all abilities achieve their potential. Outside of the classroom we are particularly proud of our music provision at Broadway. Our school orchestra is open to any child who shows a desire to learn music and a talent for performing. They play each day in assembly and attend musical events in the local area. They show off their talents each year in our annual ‘Musical Evening’, along with all children who learn an instrument at Broadway. Lessons are available for children to learn a variety of instruments including keyboard, violin, clarinet and flute. “Our School is Four Walls Containing the Future”

It is important that parents download the school app as soon as possible and register their details. The user name for the app is Broadway and the pass- word is Parent.
