Governor Newsom Announced a New Order on August 11th Order Requires all School Employees to be Vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly test proving they are not positive for COVID-19 State Updates Must be in compliance by October 15th Timeline for PUSD: Employees submit proof of vaccination by Friday, August 27th. Weekly testing for non-vaccinated or non-response starts the week of September 7th
Districts are not required to offer COVID-19 Testing PUSD is Offering No Cost COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic scholars and staff with the company Agile Force (they provide the staff) Location at North Campus Testing for Continuing to test scholars in Athletics; open for PUSD staff and scholars COVID-19 in We are not offering open Community Testing PUSD PUSD in process of additional contract for once/week testing at each school site (no cost) to assist with modified quarantine and employee testing with company Predicine (they provide the staff) State notified PUSD on August 10th: eligible for State-supported testing; waiting for more information

California Department of Public Health (CDPH) still has not released the updated guidance for Athletics, Band, Music Testing of athletes and guidance on crowds were tied to Tiered Athletics, System; State ended the Tiered System in June Band, Music: Continuing with: testing of athletes, limiting crowds at games (under 50% capacity), requiring visitors to wear masks at outdoor more games, limiting concessions (Band food truck, Straw Hat Pizza restrictions food truck, Senior Class water) This Friday’s Game (August 27th) will be broadcast on KOFY TV through starting at 7:00PM and all Bay Area on-line sports networks September platforms We will livestream future games
All families who applied by the July 28th deadline were accepted into the PUSD Virtual Independent Study Program PUSD hired 7 Virtual Independent Study Teachers Families who applied after were placed on waitlist Students with disabilities must have an IEP first to determine placements Virtual Waitlist Options include: Wait for spot to open in PUSD, attend in-person Independent Transfer to District with openings (dependent on space) Study PUSD Option B: contracted IS with Edgenuity Teachers for secondary and Stride Teachers for elementary AB 130: PUSD Current Virtual IS enrollment numbers: Elementary: 189 Secondary: 197 (73 Jr High; 124 High School) Numbers are fluid: parents may request to return to in-person and district must place within 5 days Parents can request IS at any time

Contact Tracing and Targeted Quarantine: In PUSD, Contact tracing process is guided by Contra Costa Health; California PUSD has contact tracing teams at each site and District Office Department of Quarantine Rules Public Health Within 6 feet and 15 minutes remains Guidance for Some changes to various scenarios; Ex: At School Sites: Unvaccinated students for exposures when both 2021-2022 are wearing a mask school year and 10 day quarantine Modified: allowed to remain in class IF no symptoms and County Health test twice weekly Quarantine from extra-curricular (unless test negative after Contact Tracing day 6) Fully Vaccinated Students: do not need to quarantine unless they have symptoms or develop symptoms during 14 days
