The BlackBerry Alerter
> The primary function of the BlackBerry Alerter is
notifying staff, who are on call or off duty, that there is an emergency
> The application is installed on
a device and the users can set their status and provide
information as to their location (based on LBS technology)
> The administrator knows in advance
which members of staff are available and where they are
> When a user accepts an alert,
the device sends immediate feedback to the administrator
who can invalidate the alert for further users who might no
longer be needed
