COVID-19 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS To travel to Canada, you need to be exempted from Canadian travel restrictions ˒ To hold a valid permit or an introduction letter issued before March 18 2020 and to be able to prove that your travel is essential. ˒ Attestation : Postgraduate with research program only. You supervisor need to ask for it at the registrar office at admission@etsmtl.ca ˒ Non-discretionary or non-optional purpose : Refer to the IRCC directive for the explanations accepted for travel for non-discretionary purposes ˒ Pass a health check conducted by airlines before you’ll be allowed to board your flight ˒ Wear a non-medical mask or face covering during travel (including to the place you’ll quarantine) ˒ Have a plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada.
COVID-19 ON CAMPUS THE ÉTS CAMPUS WAS CLOSED ON MARCH 17 ˒ 100% online summer session ˒ Since May 4, gradual resumption of research activities on campus FAll SESSION WILL BE HYBRID FORMULA ˒ For current students, a majority of courses online with access to the campus for practical work and laboratories ˒ For new international students, fall session 100% remotely, with special registration procedures ˒ Services and departments are open, with administrative staff on rotation
COVID-19 SANITARY MESURES Wearing a mask covering the nose and mouth is obligatory in: ˒ Public transport (buses, metro, taxis, etc.) and public places that are closed or partially covered (shops, educational establishments, restaurants and bars, workplaces, cinemas, etc.) Gatherings are limited to: ˒ Maximum of 10 people, from 3 households in a private place ˒ Maximum of 250 people in indoor public places ˒ Maximum of 250 people in outdoor public places

YOUR FIRST STEPS 2. GET YOUR STUDENT CARD 1. Conect on your portal Mon ÉTS; 2. Open Téléchargement de votre photo; 3. Download your picture; 4. Dowload a picture from an ID; 5. Send you document. Gives access to: Library, Sports centre, labs, exam In Canada: you will receive it by post Outside Canada: You won’t receive it by post.
YOUR FIRST STEPS 3. FINALIZE THE REGISTRATION FOR YOUR COURSES Reminders ˒ It’s your responsibility to register for courses (except for Ph.D) ˒ Full-time is mandatory for international students ˒ 2nd and 3rd cycles = 9 credits per session Course modifications with reimbursement From August 31 to September 13, 2020 (modification, addition and cancellation) Note: the dates may change when the course is offered on an intensive basis, check the dates on the schedule. Course registration with Cheminot software (download) ˒ You must enter your universal access code to connect to the Cheminot application. Ex: aa12345 ˒ Your password was sent to you with your admission letter. If you forgot it, reset it from MonÉTS or write to accueilbdr@etsmtl.ca English courses in Concordia and McGill university First you must choose your courses (university websites) and fill out the CREPUQ form

OTHER ADMINISTRATIVES PROCEDURES OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT GET YOUR SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER Make an appointment, bring the required documents The Social Insurance Number (SIN / NAS) is (ex.: passport, ID, ÉTS registration) mandatory to be able to work in Canada. Master’s with thesis : 15 credits (5 courses completed) + 30 credits for the mémoire Master's with project : 30 credits ( 10 courses completed) + 15 credits for the project PhD: 6 credits (2 courses completed) + 9 credits for your doctoral examination The doctoral examination is divided into three distinct courses taken over three terms: DGA1031 – Problématique de recherche (Research topic) (3 credits) DGA1032 – Examen écrit (Written exam) (3 credits) DGA1033 – Examen oral (Oral exam: defending your research project) (3 credits)
