18 BentPylon BentPylon 19 The Heroes of H.P.D.E words Jeff Woodard, We’ve been blessed with enough instructors for our June event that we will have a one to one ratio in our student pairings. For our drivers, this means that they don’t have to share their instructor with a driver in another run group. For our instructors, this means that they are able to give 100% of their attention to just one student/driver. In the past we’ve had instructors moving between multiple cars, trying to remember what they had covered and what they were working on with each driver. As I mentioned, this group goes home tired. At the end of any clubs’ H.P.D.E. If you have the experience and think you might want to begin working towards joining our instructor corp., please contact one of our chief instructors, Dale Timmister or Gary Nichols for some weekend, there is one group direction. If you have never done an H.P.D.E, please contact me and I’d be happy to answer any questions. We have an instructor just waiting to sit in your right seat, passing along the years of wisdom they’ve stored away. Our next event will be in October and if you’re considering attending, that always goes home totally do not delay in registering as soon as it opens. Steve McQueen is credited with the words: “Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting”. H.P.D.E is not racing, but the quote still holds true for our weekends at Mid-Ohio, “Everything before and after is just waiting”. If you can’t wait for your next track day, then you’re one of us. Always keep your Eye’s Up and we’ll see you on track in October. They frequently experience unappreciative clubs and (believe it or not), occasionally an ungrateful Zone 4 2021 High Performance Driving Schedule student. From the October 29-31 AR Pitt Race right seat, Jim calmly asked if I knew what I’d done. I responded that I’d lifted, when I should have kept my right foot planted. Next, he calmly asked “do you plan on doing it again?”. I answered an affirmative “no”, and he (still calmly) said “okay, let’s go then”.
