Family is the most important thing in the world. Main Event St-Labre 200 is a competition made up of three distinct elements in the pursuit for the prized Spark Plug Cup. 1. Build-Off: Material was distributed July 3rd so teams could start building from home. Usually this all done within 24 hours on site. 2. Heats: Teams race to 100 laps. Three races will clas- sify each team in a different final. A-side are the top two of each heat. Third and fourth go to B-side and fifth to seventh move on to C-side finals. 3. Finals: A-side finals teams keep racing to reach 200 laps total. During the heat races if the 2nd place team finishes 98 laps when the first team crossed, they com- plete there last lap and then during the finals will have to race another 101 laps to complete the 200 laps.. B-side finals race 75 laps. C-side finals race 50 laps.
T & A Speedway Track Info Thanks to Unger Excavating and all their hard work. We have a brand new resurfaced track which is exactly ¼ mile. With 200 laps it makes for a 50 mile race that will last about 2 ½ hours. Contrary to all other races in the world the track will be running in a clockwise direction like last year. Water will be added to the track to keep the dust down. Although this creates a muddy and slick track, it prepares the drivers mentally on how to drive and also allows the drivers to learn the potential of their carts in a slower environment. If the weather co-operates, the track will dry up gradually as the race progresses. As it dries up, drivers will get braver and pick up speed around the long straightaway and sweeping curves. If you see carts pulled over by the race marshal in the middle of the track, they are likely getting disciplined in the penalty box. This free 15 second stay in the box is triggered by either dangerous driving, out of bounds driv- ing, or speeding in the pit area. Rule #1 on the track is safety for the people out there. I will wait for it to be safe before I get down from my tow quad and before I hook up to a broken go-cart. I will then proceed to their pit area where the pit crew will be waiting with panic in their eyes. Although they hate seeing their go-cart getting towed, they appreciate when it gets delivered to their pit. Using modern transmitter technology, go-cart laps are automatically counted. Our system is ranked for precise fraction of a second lap counting. Secondary checks are in place and every crossing is confirmed by highly trained lap counting technicians. Silver Sponsors A.
