Here is a tale of two employees. The first
lives by the employee handbook. He never
violates the letter of any rule. He gets the
minimum done, but his heart just isn’t in
the job. The second guy is different. He
doesn’t even know where his employee
handbook is. But he sure gets the work
done, and then some. The boss wishes he
had a dozen more like this man.
When it comes to Christians, wonder which
follower Jesus would choose? This morning,
come! Let’s be people of both the Word
and the Spirit as we worship Christ.

Our Ladies Aide meets this Monday, August 12, in the Fellowship
Hall at 6 PM. Kathy Pierce will be the hostess.
Volunteers are needed to distribute food for Second Harvest
Food Bank this Tuesday, August 13, at 8:30 AM. Distribution is at
9 AM. Please use our flyers in foyer to spread the word!
Please join us on Sunday, August 18, at 11 AM as Recovery Soldiers
Ministries will lead us in worship, and Ben Cole will be speaking.
Barbecue, beans, coleslaw, and dessert will be provided after the
service. If you would, please volunteer to set-up/and or clean up
(both men and women) by signing up in the foyer. There is also
a Sign-Up Sheet for those who would like to bring a dessert.
6 PM, Sunday, August 18, Paul Clark (David and Jill Clark’s son)
is coming to share details about House of Hope, a mission in
Haiti. We will have delicious desserts to share after the service. If
you would like to volunteer to bring a dessert, please sign up in
the foyer.

include any of your children’s or grandchildren’s achievements.
All men and women are invited for a joint session of Carter
County Christian Men’s and Women’s Fellowships on Tuesday,
August 20, at 7 PM at First Christian Church in Elizabethton with
Paul Peer speaking.
Our Ladies Aide will deliver meals to shut-ins on Monday, August
26. If you would like to volunteer to deliver the meals, or if you
know of someone who would need a meal; please contact a
member of the Ladies Aide.
Please join us Wednesday, August 28, at 6 PM in Fellowship Hall
to watch “Breakthrough” and have FREE snacks. Please invite
your friends and neighbors! There are flyers in foyer to post or
use as an invitation.
Cards are in seats for your Prayer Requests. On the back is a
place for giving or updating your contact information. Please
place your card in our offering plate or give to a greeter.
