HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN OF BELLA VISTA The Honorary Life Membership program of PW was GATHERINGS established early last century in the Presbyterian PW Fall Luncheon Church to honor faithful service to the women’s Friday, September 12, 2020 — 12:00 noon organization and to the church. Funds derived from Potluck Luncheon / Hostess: Rebecca Circle these memberships support the PW Leadership Development Grant Program which enables individuals PW Christmas Tea to engage in leadership development opportunities. Saturday, December 5, 2020 — 2:00 pm An Honorary Life Membership is presented by our Afternoon Tea / Hostess: Lydia Circle local Presbyterian Women to a church member for faithful service and leadership in PW and the Church. PW Spring Luncheon A deadline for written nominations is set by the PW Friday, March 5, 2021 — 12:00 noon Coordinating Team. A committee (composed of the Potluck Luncheon / Hostess: PW Coordinating last three recipients of the award) tallies the Team nominations and submits the name to the church-wide PW for the pin and certificate to be presented to the PW Birthday Luncheon recipient at a PW Gathering. The leaf represents growth of our personal and Churchwide Gathering corporate response to Jesus Christ as we Thursday, August 5 — Sunday, August 8, 2021 nurture our faith. St. Louis, Missouri The dove indicates our work for peace in our own lives and throughout the world, shown in the Arkansas Presbytery Retreat globe. At the center of the design is the cross, by Friday, August 20—Saturday, August 21, 2021 which our sins are forgiven and we are freed to Host Church: Mt. The outline of the central figure forms a cross. The right figure holds a book to guide her reading, studying, praying or meditating. The left figure reaches out to care for others and the circle represents the church worldwide where women offer their gifts and talents. History of Presbyterian Women Presbyterian Women began more than 200 years ago by supporting missionaries with donations and prayers. The first national organization for women in our denomination was the Women’s General Missionary Society, established in 1875. Financial support of missions was phenomenal and included the Thank Offering (begun in 1888) and the Birthday Offering (begun in 1922, both of which continue today. In 1930 the office of elder was open to women and the ordination of women began in 1958. 4 13

The Bible study is from Shelton Horizons (our national 3/16/21 Nancy Sharon magazine). The theme this year Ortman Warner is “Into the Light”. 4/20/21 Judy Lorna Sterrett Nancy To Support the mission of the church worldwide Massman Ortman Each circle has a special mission 5/18/21 Lorna Lorna they support. One circle packs Sterrett Sterrett shoeboxes and they also collect 6/15/20 Deloris Nancy Sharon sweatshirts and other items for Jennings Ortman Warner Gravette students as Christmas. The third circle donates funds for the parenting program of Head Start students. Through our mission pledges we also support other local agencies, the Presbytery of Arkansas and Churchwide mission projects throughout the world. 12 5

MARTHA GARVIN CIRCLE Meets at 12:30 pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month in Fellowship Hall to pack shoeboxes, followed by 1:00 pm circle meeting Mission Projects: Shoebox Ministry and Our quilting group makes twin size quilts for Vera Lloyd Gravette High School Presbyterian Home in Monticello where a quilt is given to each youth on arrival for them to keep.
