ASSISTANT PRODUCER PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITY: CALL FOR CANDIDATES Studio 3 Arts is hoping to secure a fellowship for an emerging producer for a placement in 2015. It offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in producing high- quality arts projects in East London. The fellow will work closely with S3A’s Artistic Director, Associate Producer and the wider team. The fellowship is a bespoke programme, which will be tailored to the individual fellow and their training and development needs. “All Fellowships should offer an opportunity for a talented and motivated emerging performing arts creative to work under the guidance of experienced mentors to develop their skills, experiment, create and showcase their work, and experience the reality of working in a professional performing arts environment.”(BBC PAF guidelines) The opportunity and the process Each year, the BBC Performing Arts Fund awards bursaries to emerging theatre makers for a placement with an arts organisation. There is a two-stage process in securing a fellowship: 1. your application to become S3A’s chosen candidate for a fellowship 2. S3A’s application for a BBC Performing Arts Fund’s fellowship grant. Only if S3A is successful in securing a grant will the fellowship go ahead. This call is therefore to become our chosen fellowship candidate for our application to the BBC Performing Arts Fund. The fellowship bursary of £10,000 covers per diems, accommodation and travel costs to ensure the fellow is not out of pocket during the placement. Timeline: Applications to become the Studio 3 Arts fellowship candidate are open until 5pm on FRIDAY 8 August. The BBC Performing Arts fund assessment of applications takes place between 18 August and 28 November. Shortlisted organisations and fellows are invited to a meeting as part of this process. Fellowship candidates need to be ready to attend this meeting and to contribute the application. The fellowship takes place in 2015. The duration depends on the programme of work, and the weekly working hours of the fellow.
