Some of the nation's best-known companies thrive in the Sanford area.
Worldwide leaders like Moen, Wyeth, Coty, Tyson Foods, and Caterpillar.
Sanford announced four major economic development projects in
less than 12 months, and the city is positioned to make more major
economic developments in the future.

Through6, an on-demand, full cut & sew, vertical manufacturing
solution specializing in innovative sublimation and DTG apparel, will open a new facility in Lee County. The company plans to locate the
operation in phases, with total employment of 160 jobs and $2 million in capital investments when the Sanford facility is fully operational.

Audentes Therapeutics, an Astellas company based in San Francisco, California, will open a new facility in Lee County.
The life-sciences company has purchased a recently-completed shell building located in Central Carolina Enterprise
Park and will create 209 jobs at an average salary of $83,900. The company will be investing $109.4M in Sanford over a
five-year period.

                                            Bharat Forge will open a new facility in Lee County. The company plans to
                                            locate the operation in two phases, the first creating 304 jobs and the second creating 156 jobs.
                                            In total, the company plans to create 460 new full-time jobs, investing $170.9 million in Sanford,
                                            serving clients in the automotive sector.

                                            Pfizer, the world's largest biopharmaceutical company, announced that their Sanford campus
                                            that they would undergo a major facility
expansion. The company will invest half a billion dollars to advance its state of the art
gene therapy facility. At completion, this project will employ approximately 300 people.
This announcement comes less than two years after Pfizer first announced the relocation
of a gene therapy production facility to the Sanford campus, adding 40 new jobs and $100
million dollars in Investment.

economic drivers
Sanford City Council awarded approximately $12
million in construction contracts to extend the City
of Sanford's wastewater collection system to the
Moncure Megasite. Located near the intersection of
Old US-1 and US-1, the 2,500-acre North Carolina
Certified Site is a cooperative endeavor between
the City of Sanford and Chatham County. It is
expected to serve as an economic development
catalyst that will benefit Chatham, Harnett, Lee,
and Wake counties, the central Carolina region, and
the state as a whole.

In June of 2021, the Developers of the Chatham
County megasite began marketing the site
as Triangle Innovation Point. The name and                                                       M
rebranding came after the Developers repositioned
the site to focus more as a potential hub for tech
and life sciences instead of manufacturing.
The first phase of the project, TIP East will make
up 400 acres on the western portion of the site.                                                       SITE
