BIM Projects (Building Information Modelling) BIM, to use the industry acronym, has for many years now been a core component or our design process. Good Architects have always evolved innovative forms while thinking and sketching in 3D. Significant investment in training, hardware and software some years ago, means the vast majority of our design work is delivered in 3D to maximise collaborative engagement and minimise misunderstandings. Utilising 3D modelling software and state of the art software, photo realistic imagery is achievable very early in a design process, which can be further enhanced by integration into drone technology imaging.

Using state of the art 3D scanning technology we can undertake surveys that would otherwise be very difficult either through limited access or due to the number of components involved. The output from the scan is a point cloud model which contains a huge amount of information. This can be used for a variety of purposes, not least of which as a basis to produce a building model. The team members at IMA who undertake the scans are trained on the equipment and have a thorough understanding of best practices to ensure efficient scanning whilst minimising disruption.
