Background OCP Foundation support for Food & Nutrition security The OCP Foundation Morocco is dedicated to create better conditions for the needy across the world. It seeks to meet the needs of local population throughout Africa and Asia to promote South -South cooperation. It focuses on economic, social and agriculture development for feeding growing world population. OCP Foundation has supported a pilot project on Integrated Farming System Approach in Rajasthan and Karnataka since 2014 with ISAP as implementing partner contributing towards economic social and agriculture development. . Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) Partner in the process Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP), is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 2001 under Section 25 of the Companies Act. ISAP was set up by a group of Agriculture and Management Professionals with the aim to enhance livelihood opportunities for rural communities and sustainability. ISAP has more than 300 dedicated full time associates spread across 18 States of India working in Rural Development and CSR Projects focused on Sustainable Intensification of Agriculture and use of ICT Women Empowerment Skill Education & Entrepreneurship Development Water and Sanitation Renewable Energy Elderly Care and Health ISAP’s Rich Field Experience ISAP is working with more than 500,000 small holder farmers / producers and has set up and mentored more than 240 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). ISAP has undertaken vocational skill training and job placement for more than 20,000 unemployed youth. ISAP has trained more than 6200 candidates under Agri-Clinics and Agribusiness Centers (ACABC) Program of Government of India for Agri- entrepreneurship and helped to set up more than 2400 successful agri-allied micro, small and medium enterprises. Context: National Conference Keeping in view the positives and learnings of the OCPF-IFS Project, OCP Foundation and ISAP have planned National Conference “KRISHI SANKALP” on Enhancing Farmers’ Income through Integrated Farming System (IFS) Approach, on April 10 and 11, 2019 at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The participating agencies would include Union and State Government departments, Scientists from ICAR and Agricultural Universities, Civil Society Organizations, Corporates and farmers. Objectives To deliberate on IFS approach as a tool for farmer empowerment. To share learnings fromKarnataka& Rajasthan where IFS project was implemented. To deliberate further refinements for IFS model including delivery mechanism, role of FPOs and technologies required. Todeliberate on scaling up of IFS model across India for Farmer Empowerment.
