Antimicrobial Coating Recommended Test Process and Procedures Testing Procedure I. Cleanliness Test By Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) Method (Optional) a. Equipment Used (by Asahi Lifecare) is Kikkoman ATP Tester b. Take the cotton swab out from the individual casing provided by the supplier. c. Prewet it in the DI or Distilled Water. d. Rub the swab on intended test surface (100cm2) by following horizontal strokes and followed by vertical strokes. e. Placed the cotton swab back to the designated casing till you hear a click sound. f. Shake the casing vigorously till the chemical is in the casing dissolved completely. g. Placed the casing into the reader and READ and record results. II. On Site Microbes Swab Test (In-House or 3rd Party Lab) a. Pre-wet the sterile swab stick in 0.85% sterile saline b. Rub the stick on intended test surface (100cm2) by following horizontal strokes, followed by vertical strokes c. After sampling, store the swabbed stick back to empty swab packaging d. Label the name of the intended surface and date and time of the swab e. Transport and store the swabbed stick to intended laboratory within 4 hours f. Report Results by laboratories with photos of the colonies. Schedule of Swab Test 1. Swab Test should be done before coating 2. Swab Test done after 24 hours of coating or recommended by the coating supplier KH Chew Nov 2021 3. Scheduled swab as per intended timing after coating for example swab every weekly or fortnightly or monthly to check on the coating efficacy towards microbes. 10

Washability Test KH Chew Nov 2021 27
Methodology Adopted from ASTM D4828 - Standard Test Methods for Practical Washability of Organic Coatings • Check WCA & other properties of sample before test • Soak the 3M sponge sufficiently with tap water • Place the wet sponge and holder at one end of the panel so that its long axis is parallel to the length of the sample • Turn on pump to add water while the equipment run • Allow the sponge to travel specific number of cycles • Check WCA & other properties of sample after specific number of cycles • Test pieces were sent for Mueller Hinston Agar (MHA) Plate Testing using E-Coli BL21 in accordance to JIS Z 2801:2010 “Antibacterial products-Test for Speed: 37±1 cycle/min antibacterial activity and efficacy” Load: Dry sponge + holder = 1kg • Incubation period – 24 hours KH Chew Nov 2021 28
