Welcome

6th Annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk Welcomes You!

Dear Neighbors and Garden Walk Visitors,
The Cooper-Young Garden Club welcomes you to the 6th Annual Cooper-
Young Garden Walk, the largest garden walk in the Mid-South, May 15-16,
from 9 am to 4 pm.
The mission of the Garden Walk is to celebrate urban gardening and inspire
residents and visitors to elevate their corner of the world with beauty, and
provide a sanctuary for people, plants, and pollinators. The theme of this
year’s walk is “Beauty, Health, and Sustainability.”
Our walk is unique not only because of Cooper-Young’s quirky, eclectic
gardens but because of its central location in the heart of Midtown Memphis.
We’re home to historic architecture, robust community pride, trendy shops,
thriving restaurants, diversity, art, and culture.
The 90+ diverse gardens include imaginative urban home gardens and
business green spaces, and an elementary school garden which will delight
all the senses during the Garden Walk’s 2-day span.
Enjoy engaging mini-talks on growing cutting flowers, vertical gardening,
composting, making sauerkraut, and more. Additionally, have the pleasure
of viewing beehives, free range chickens, and composting in action.
Increase your nursery know-how at booths operated by Master Gardeners,
the Herb Society, and many other garden educators and enthusiasts. After
taking in the gardens, shop for garden-themed art and nourish yourself at
Cooper-Young’s award-winning restaurants and breweries. Many will be
offering discounts the day of the walk.
Walk, bike, or drive to the gardens along tree-lined streets, now a nationally
registered arboretum. It’s easy to experience what is fast becoming the
best and largest urban garden walk in the South.
The garden walk is requiring all garden hosts, speakers, visitors, volunteers,
and vendors to keep our event COVID safe by wearing masks and social
               distancing.
To help you fully experience this event, we’ve compiled this suggested
               itinerary.

Refreshing outdoor patio ceiling ideas
from Hunter
We love the unique patios designed by the Cooper Young Garden Walk
homeowners. There are so many patio design ideas and an abundance of
styles. Whether you’re updating your Memphis home or a home out-of-town, you can extend your style from inside to outside
with a few defining features. Pergolas and covered patios can easily be extensions of your home’s aesthetic.
Ceiling fans are key comfort for any space and can be the finishing touch on your patio design. Our designers and engineers
collaborate to come up with beautiful outdoor ceiling fans that include components to withstand humidity and rain,
like our WeatherMax® outdoor fans. Our SureSpeed® guarantee also delivers airflow to keep you cool in the heat of Memphis
summer. The possibilities are endless, but here are a few patio ceiling fan ideas to get you started.

Choosing the right outdoor ceiling fan
First, make sure you choose the right fan for the job. Not all outdoor fans are created equal.
                             • Indoor-rated fans only work for indoor rooms. If you install an indoor fan outside, the fan will
                             eventually malfunction.
                             • Damp-rated fans are great for covered outdoor spaces like patios and porches exposed to mild
                             elements like humidity.
                             • Wet-rated fans are engineered to withstand being exposed to direct rain on pergolas.
                              • WeatherMax outdoor fans are Engineered for the elements™. They feature ultra-durable
materials that are salt-air and corrosion resistant and can withstand direct exposure to heavy rain.

Modern outdoor ceiling fans
Traditional outdoor ceiling fans utilized palm leaf blades and multi-arm lights. Our designers reimagined modern outdoor
ceiling fans with looks that are sleek, stylish, and versatile. They’re also equipped with modern technology to make your space
comfortable as well as good-looking.

The Trimaran modern ceiling fan has a simple yet strong design paired with classic
finishes. Its sleek design complements a variety of modern patio styles without overpowering
your design. It fits with gallery-esqe patios with marble tile and a terrazzo table. Or it can go
in tropical pergolas with monstera leaf pillows and rattan furniture. Built with WeatherMax, it
can handle the tropical weather, too. See this one in person on the Andrew Michael Italian

The Original ceiling fan
Nothing cools like the Original, the Hunter Original®. The traditional beauty of the Original
has graced thousands of patios since its introduction in 1906. Made with cast-iron and
real-wood blades, this fan is known for lasting generations. We even provide a relocation
kit, because so many people want to take their Original with them when they move. Feel
the breeze of the Original at Huey’s downtown.

Go big or go home
For oversized outdoor spaces, you need an outdoor ceiling fan with the performance
and style to match. The 72-inch Overton fan fits the bill. The ten-bladed design
makes a statement while the rest of the design is understated enough to be used on
any style patio, from modern industrial to contemporary country. It’s built
with our SureSpeed® Guarantee, so you know your family will be cool and
comfortable all summer long. Imagine this one on your own patio!
There are plenty of stylish outdoor fan designs to help inspire your patio design
ideas. Check out Hunterfan.com for more.
