What is A star’s sign? A star’s sign is an animation proposal based on the thirteen zodiacs, it will be a mature rated show and produced in my own art style. The thirteen zodiacs will be spilt into four groups based on their element. This being Fire, Water, Air and Earth. Each group will have three zodiac and they will have their own class and fighting style. These three categories will be Warrior, Mage and Weapon. The Warriors will be the leader of each group.
Character iterations Each element will be represented by a culture to give a more diverse range of character outcomes. This will be an exception with the thirteenth zodiac Ophiuchus which has been described having traits of both fire and air zodiacs. For the purpose of the story line Ophiuchus will be an outcast from the fire group which are the main protagonist in the story. The zodiac weapons are Gemini, Aries, Pisces, and Virgo. All the mentioned zodiacs transform into weapons for the warrior in each group. These weapons will still reflect the culture they are influenced by.

OPHIUCHUS Nov 30 – Dec 10 House Ophiuchus represented Unity. Its people were spirited, magnetic, impulsive, clever, flamboyant, and at times jealous, power-hungry, and temperamental. At their hearts, they were healers who hoped to one day rid the Zodiac of every ill—disease, violence, etc— and bring everyone closer together. Ophiuchans had a natural affinity for snakes, and there was a special species of serpent, the Zawinder, with whom their House’s Zodai developed a psychic connection. Each Zodai would capture and adopt his own Zawinder, which they would then use to spread messages to others in the swamp.
Character Sheets These are the final character sheets for all thirteen zodiacs. I wanted to them all to be presented in a pose that helped show some of their personalities as well as a clear turnaround of each character too. The four weapon zodiacs have their final weapon design on the sheet so that you can see the clear contrast in the design.
Poster Parallax I wanted to work on some promotional material for the project. This poster is split up to also be used as a parallax. It would be something that can be used on advertising for Netflix, to draw the viewers’ attention with the slight movement.
Cover Art This was another piece of promotional material that I decided to produce for the project. The main focus of this piece was for cover or box art but this could easily be used as a poster for the animation with the addition of the ‘A star’s sign’ Logo placed in the negative space.
StoryBoard Sketch These are the original plans from the storyboard. Even though they start out rough you should be able to get a sense of direction with the story. The story throughout the sketches was clear enough to move onto the inking stage but some of the camera angles need to be changed to match the tone of the scenes.
Final Story Boards Although industry storyboard are usual clean and precise, I decided to work more towards an animatic which gave me the chance to work a lot closer than I normally do. The most important part of this was creating the sense of movement through the animatic so that the animators would have a better understanding of direction and pace.
