POST-SHOW REVIEW What a Show! RHASS News A fter months of planning it is incredibly rewarding to see the hard work of directors, colleagues, volunteers and exhibitors pay off with such a spectacular event. An impressive 189,851 visitors flocked to the Royal Highland Show this year, continuing to demonstrate the appeal of Scotland’s iconic celebration of farming, food and rural life. The Royal Highland Show continues to attract key elected leaders from across the political spectrum including Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Secretary of State for Scotland, David Mundell MP; Fergus Ewing MSP, the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity and Ruth Davidson MSP, Leader of the Conservative party in Scotland. This reinforces the importance of the Royal Highland Show on a political level and we are proud to host these influential individuals in what are crucial times for our industry. The Royal Highland Show is, undoubtedly, the key event in Scotland for members of the public to get face to face with the agricultural, and wider rural, sectors. Many members play a significant role in showcasing the best of Scotland’s farming, food and rural life and we sincerely hope to inspire visitors to explore and engage with rural Scotland and support our industry.
