Wayne County History Our Neighbors Wayne County, Ohio, named for famed Revolutionary War Wayne County, together with neighboring Holmes, Brigadier General Anthony Wayne, was organized largely Stark, and Tuscarawas Counties, is home to the largest within its present borders in 1812.
