24 Stephens Co Jr Livestock Show 77th Stephens County Junior Livestock Show DEDICATION To: Jo Johnson
Stephens Co Jr Livestock Show 25 The Stephens County Junior Livestock Show is dedicated each year to honor an individual who has been an integral part of the development of the Livestock Show. We are proud to name Jo Johnson as the 77th Junior Livestock Show Honoree It seemed natural for Jo to become involved in the livestock show, as it was something that was very important to her Dad, Ralph Darter. He was the 1997 Honoree, who put a great amount of time and effort into the Livestock Show to help make it a success for many years. Jo has been a part of the livestock show since the early 90’s. First, helping her Dad with the premium sale, then, keeping records when her two daughters became involved in showing pigs. Continuing the family tradition Jo and her husband Rick have a small cattle operation that keeps them busy. They are very proud to have been blessed with a family, Jason and Cristina Foster and children, Blayden, Kaylee and Allie; and Justin and DeDe Parks and their children, Emaleigh and Raylen, who have recently started showing cattle. Jo worked for Stephens County thirty years, nine as County Clerk. She enjoys attending her grandchildren’s activities and substitute teaching. Jo is an Honorary Chapter Farmer for Empire FFA. Jo knows, as did her Dad, that it takes many volunteers and financial contributors to make the livestock show a success. So, she shares this honor with all who work tirelessly and generously donate to continue that success.
