4th Grade Campers Week 1: June 6-10 AM (9am-12pm) Kitchen Chemistry June 6-10 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Come experiment with all edible ingredients! Learn about states of matter with ice cream and lip gloss. Discover acids and bases with cabbage juice. Make ooblek and taffy. Use candies to experiment with colors. Makes toys from milk and learn about casein. Don’t miss this week full of chemistry explored with edible reactants! Nerf Wars June 6-10 • 9am - 12pm • 2-6th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, ASP Teacher Epic battles await! Join this exciting week to play against your buddies. Nerf guns and darts are provided but campers can bring their own. Enjoy a week of building bunkers, target practice, and lots of competitive play. PM (1-4pm) Woodworking 101 June 6-10 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $175 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Use manual tools to create amazing wooden structures! Participants learn the proper way to use a hammer, nails, screw drivers, and small saws. No power tools used. Campers build and take home a birdhouse, a car/truck, a decor piece, and a project of their choosing during the week. Week 2: June 13-17 AM (9am-12pm) Archery June 13-17• 9am - 12pm • 4-8th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Join this camp as a beginner or with some experience. Participants learn how to safely shoot a bow and arrow, strengthen their aim with lots of target practice, and experiment with different types of bows. They design and create their own arrow to take as a keepsake. Basketball Jr. June 13-17 • 9am - 12pm • 1-4th • $150 Teacher: Charles Wimphrie, ASP Teacher, Former Pro Player, and Retired University Head Basketball Coach This awesome week will get you ballin’! Practice your dribbling, shooting, and passing with fun drills and exciting games! Learn the rules and set plays. Improve your team work, individual skill, and have fun.
Green Screen Fun June 13-17 • 9am - 12pm • 3-5th • $150 Teacher: Mr. Dove, Mr. Dove, Actor, Youtuber, and Former Elementary School Media Teacher If you had the power to poof yourself anywhere, where would you go? Green Screens are used by movie studios and by YouTubers to create special effects that can take them crazy places. They can get you there too. Join this exciting and sometimes silly week to learn how a green screen works, use special effects (iPads provided) and finally go to those places, you thought you never could! Painting Techniques June 13-17 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Come learn techniques to create beautiful canvases! Participants learn about composition through layout practice and color blending by mixing all their own colors. Learn about different painting styles and techniques for application and then create painted pieces to take home and treasure. Slimetopia June 13-17 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Science Teacher Powered by Challenge Island®, one can never have enough slime! Introducing a brand new ooey, gooey, squishy, squashy slime-drenched camp extravaganza! Learn the science behind the slime while making at least 10 different kinds of the addictively playful polymer: From butter to bubble; from crunchy to munchy; from fluffy to foamy – we’ve got you and your tribe covered (in slime, that is!). PM (1-4pm) Cartooning June 13-17 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Come create fun figures and comic strips to show action! Learn the stylized methods to make figures look like anime or other cartoon styles, along with how to create a story board for your cartoon plots. Kids in Business June 13-17 • 1pm - 4pm • 4-7th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Teacher Powered by Challenge Island®, we are calling all innovative and inventive kids to an adventure in STEAM and entrepreneurship! You and your tribe design, create, and open new businesses and associated product lines each day of camp: from pet shops to restaurants to fashion and sporting goods stores; from ice cream parlors to toy stores to pop-up holiday shops. Come convince city planners that your tribe’s business belongs in the new Challenge Island Mall. Don’t miss out on this unique entrepreneurial experience! Martial Arts June 13-17 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Greenville Academy of Martial Arts Sifu This is a dynamic class! Join as a beginner or with experience. Sifu (the leader) teaches self-defense skills using Jeet Kune Do methods and combines these skills with a strong focus on character, discipline, and self-control. This unbeatable combination gives campers confidence, martial arts skills, and a fun experience!
Sports Sampler June 13-17 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-6th • $150 Teacher: Jordan Filiatreau, Elementary School PE Teacher Not sure what sport you like best? Come sample them all! Each day we will try out 2 sports so players can test a variety of activities. All sessions focus on technique, knowing the rules of the game, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Sports explored include basketball, soccer, flag football, kickball, volleyball, PE games, and more! Week 3: June 20-24 AM (9am-12pm) Camping Basics June 20-24 • 9am - 12pm • 2-4th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Learn the skills to be an outdoorsmen in this adventurous week! We explore survival skills such as fire making and creating a shelter. We learn fun skills such as knot tying and making bows and arrows. And we learn practical skills like how to walk on a trail and stay safe in the woods. Ceramics June 20-24 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher All hands on deck! Learn the techniques to create beautiful clay pieces of art. Artists learn hand-building techniques to shape clay and start with pinch pots. They also create multiple pieces to fire and learn how to glaze to finish a piece. Flag Football June 20-24 • 9am - 12pm • 1-4th • $150 Teacher: Mr. Dove, ASP Teacher and Flag Football Enthusiast Think you are the next Odell Beckham, Tom Brady or other football star? Then bring your best moves! Through mini-games and skill drills, players learn and practice techniques to improve throwing, catching, and defense. Don’t let ‘em get your flag. No pads or helmet needed. Making the Mod: Designing Modification with Minecraft® June 20-24 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $185 Teacher: Code Ninjas® Professional Sensei Powered by Code Ninjas®. Come learn how to manipulate and master Minecraft® by making your own mods (modifications). Using basic block-based coding, ninjas learn procedures, conditionals, and variables. Create 2D and 3D textures for your Minecraft® world along with custom content, including weapons, armor, and even enemies! Messy, Gooey Science June 20-24 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Science Teacher Powered by Challenge Island®, it’s another week of hands-on science exploration! Come make slime and ooblek, complete experiments to explore states of matter, and challenge yourself to build the biggest rainbow cloud! This class is full of STEAM learning with a messy twist!
PM (1-4 pm) Cupcake Wars June 20-24 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-6th • $165 Teacher: Andreah Hayes, ASP Teacher Come bake and ice something delicious! Learn piping techniques to make the cutest cupcakes around! Campers eat some of their treats, take some home, and the rest are sold at a bake sale at the end of camp, with all funds donated to the charity campers choose. Innovation Station June 20-24 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Ellen Gordon, Elementary School Teacher Explore in this maker space wonderland! Campers will have a variety of materials available to create items as they compete in challenges. Each day brings a new theme, such as creating a vessel that floats, or making whimsical creatures from recycled materials. Participants explore engineering, art, and physics concepts all while creating, building, and collaborating with campmates. Talent Show June 20-24• 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $150 Teacher: Mr. Dove, Mr. Dove, Music Artist, Actor, Youtuber, and Former Elementary School Media Teacher E\Everyone has a talent, what’s yours? Come express yourself and showcase your performing talents. Participants can explore any ability they choose such as singing, acting, comedy, or something totally unique! Simple props are created and there is an end of week showcase of talents for family! Wizardry Party: Potions & Spells June 20-24 • 1pm - 4pm • 4-8th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Science Teacher Powered by Challenge Island®, we’ve brewed up a brand new and magical week of spellbinding adventure based on the famous character, Harry Potter! You and your tribe take a full load of Wizarding Classes from Transfiguration to Flying Broomsticks to Charms and Potions to Magical Beasts. The STEAMtastic camp culminates with an enchanted graduation ceremony for family. Yoga June 20-24 • 1pm - 4pm • K5-5th • $165 Teacher: The Haven Yoga Studio Professional Yogi Get your zen on! Learn the poses and breathing techniques to get your body and mind centered. Create crafts to relax your mind and learn simple meditation techniques.

Each day players work on ball handling skills like dribbling and passing skills, along with shooting skills and movement skills. They learn the rules and how to run plays in both offensive and defensive situations. There are drills, 1-1 activities, 3-3 activities, and full court games so players can develop individual skills and team play. AM (9am-12pm) Fishing June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • 4-7th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher, Certified Science Teacher, and Fishing Enthusiast Visit local fishing holes and catch a big one! Learn how to string a pole, bait a hook, and what type of bait attracts various fish. Practice dragging your line to lure the fish in. All catches are returned to the lake. Poles are provided. Playground Hunt June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • K5-5th • $150 Teacher: Kira Reid, ASP Teacher Join the fun as we hunt for the best playground in the upstate! Each day we will visit a different fun spot to explore the equipment it offers on our quest to find our favorites. Explore the splash pad at Tyger River Park, the zip-lines at Century Park, the slides at Herdklotz Park, the fun of Conestee Park, and the Emmanuel Sullivan Sports Complex/ Fountain Inn Splash Pad . Pop Star June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $150 Teacher: Diana McElwee, ASP Teacher, Vocal Coach, and Former College Professor of Music Calling all singers! Come learn all the tricks to make your vocals magic, like how to control your breathing and how to get more power from your voice! Practice your stage presence, too, and you will be a pop star in no time! Roller Skating June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • K5-5th • $165 Teacher: Angela Pitts, Professional Roller Skater Powered by Roller Time Skating Academy, learn to skate in this exciting class, or strengthen your skills if you have experience. Participants learn basic skating techniques such as how to stop, get up if you fall, and how to skate forward and backward. They learn more advanced skills, such as shoot-the-duck and how to jump as they progress. Skates are provided.
Sewing 101 June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $175 Teacher: Andi Brown, ASP Teacher, Sewing Enthusiast and Former Early Interventionist This camp is for beginners or those with some experience. Learn how to use a sewing machine to create projects. Campers make a throw pillow, pillowcase, and draw string bag. Sewing machines, fabric, and other materials are provided but sewers should bring 1 yard of cotton fabric and 3 yards of matching ribbon for their draw string bag. Participants may bring their own sewing machine if desired. Survival Skills: Wilderness Training June 27 - July 1 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Experts say there are 8 basic how-to skills needed for survival: fire building, potable water, foraging for food, building shelter, tying knots, creating a weapon, basic first aid, and fishing/trapping. Come learn skills for all and build a special tool kit to keep. PM (1-4pm) Origami June 27 - July 1 • 1pm - 4pm • 4-6th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Who knew folding paper could create such cool pieces? Learn the techniques to make movement pieces like animals and games, pretty pieces like flowers and stars, and functional pieces like bookmarks and storage boxes. Artists can enhance their folded creations with embellishments. Rock Climbing June 27 - July 1 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $225 Teacher: Marco Gast, ASP Teacher Calling all adventurists! Each day we visit an indoor climbing facility such as Climb at Blue Ridge, Big Air, and Mauldin Cultural Center climbing wall. Learn how to belay and climb and then practice to your heart’s content! Campers should wear athletic shoes or can rent climbing shoes (fee included in camp price). Spa Creations June 27 - July 1 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Kira Reid, ASP Teacher Enjoy this beautiful week of creating spa accessories. Come make bath bombs, bath salts, scented oils, and body scrubs. Make candles and soaps. This fun week infuses science with beauty as campers learn how to create using many plant based materials.
Week 5: July 5-8 NO MONDAY All Day (9am-4pm) Celebrate USA July 5-8 • 9am - 4pm • K5-5th • $195 Teacher: Charles Wimphrie, ASP Teacher, Former Pro Player, and Retired University Head Basketball Coach This week is nothing but fun as we celebrate being American! Each day there are multiple stations of activities such as games in the gym, crafts and cooking in classrooms, and choice activities proposed by campers. Participants choose their stations each day and make the week their own. We have a cook-out for lunch one day, American style with hamburgers and hot dogs. Week 6: July 11-15 AM (9am-12pm) Dodgeball July 11-15 • 9am - 12pm • 2-6th • $150 Teacher: Jordan Filiatreau, Elementary School PE Teacher Join your friends and play dodgeball and dodgeball style games each day! Learn the rules of the game and play in a safe environment where your teammates are just as excited as you. Improve throwing, ducking, and dodging skills through practice and drills. Improve your team play with endless games and fun! Soft foam balls are used. Drones & Rockets July 11-15 • 9am - 12pm • 4-8th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Explore flight in this cool camp! Campers learn how to fly and control provided drones with practice, practice, practice. As they improve they compete to complete a series of challenges with landing and flying through spaces. They create flying contraptions from simple materials to investigate concepts in lift. They even create rockets to launch. Fort Building July 11-15 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher What is more fun than building a fort? NOTHING! Join this cool week and build forts! Make them from cardboard, sheets, poles, and tape. Then decorate them and play inside. Jewelry Making: Friendship Bracelets & Polymer Clay July 11-15 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Diana McElwee, ASP Teacher, Jewelry Enthusiast, and Former College Professor of Music Make awesome bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and even hair accessories this week! Create fun friendship style bracelets by learning different knotting techniques and experimenting with color complements. Use polymer clay to make a variety of pieces. Polymer clay is fine clay that is shaped and then baked. Learn the techniques to use this clay to create fun jewelry pieces.
Unlock Your Potential: Become a Roblox Developer July 11-15 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $185 Teacher: Code Ninjas® Professional Sensei Powered by Code Ninjas®, come learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, user-generated online gaming platform similar to Minecraft®. Campers use Roblox to create much more than just a game! Open to all levels of experience, this camp teaches ninjas how to plan, design and build their own 3D world in a hands-on, fully guided experience led by an awesome Code Senseis. PM (1-4pm) 3-D Drawing July 11-15• 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher Learn to draw 3-D figures and optical illusions. Open to beginners and those with drawing experience, come learn the shading techniques to show depth and make figures jump off the page. Campers will create a portfolio of drawings. There are silly activities like water balloons, water toss, and water relays, along with slip ‘N slide and sprinkler games. There is one field trip to the Kroc Center for a water day off campus.
Week 7: July 18-22 AM (9am-12pm) Fencing July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 3-8th • $165 Teacher: Foothills Fencing Professional Fencer This unique experience is an Olympic sport! Learn the rules of fencing, the skills for proper footwork, bladework, distance control, fencing etiquette, and how to be a good sportsman. Fencers start with the foil and all protective gear (mask, breastplate, vest, glove) is provided. LEGO Builders July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $150 Teacher: TBA Build it! This exciting camp is full of building challenges using LEGO bricks, such as a machine that moves, tallest structure, a contraption to catch something, and much more! There is also plenty of free build time to create unique and amazing LEGO sculptures. Quilling Paper Art July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Diana McElwee, ASP Teacher, Art Enthusiast, and Former College Professor of Music Quilling is the art of curling paper to make shapes and then putting the shapes together to form a composition. Come learn how to use the tools and techniques to shape strips of paper. Then create a variety of designs such as signs for your room, greeting cards, monogrammed pieces, and even key-chains. Don’t miss this unique camp! Take Care of Your Community July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $150 Teacher: TBA This week we visit local non-profits to learn about their mission and volunteer our talents. Help the animals at an animal rescue. Stock supplies at a local food bank. Stuff toiletry care packages for those at shelters. Plant at a community garden. Most of all fill your heart with love as you learn that being a good citizen and helping your community brings joy to you and others. Ukulele July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Jacob Kiser, ASP Teacher and Guitar Teacher Learn to play this fun and charming stringed instrument! Participants practice how to hold the ukulele, how to strum, how to play chords, and put it all together to create tunes. Ukuleles are provided but campers can bring their own if they prefer. Woodworking Intermediate July 18-22 • 9am - 12pm • 4-7th • $185 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Designed for those with some woodworking experience, either on their own or by completing our Woodworking 101 course first. In this camp build larger pieces using manual tools. Participants practice using a hammer, nails, screw drivers, and small saws. Campers will build small benches during the week which they can take home or leave at ASP for use in our entrance courtyard.
PM (1-4pm) All Around Town July 18-22• 1pm - 4pm • K5-5th • $195 Teacher: Kira Reid, ASP Teacher Visit all your favorite spots and have a blast with friends! Hot spots like The Children’s Museum, Spare Time laser tag, Carolina Dance & Cheer fun gym, Recraft Greenville arts & crafts fun, and the Fountain Inn Splash Pad are all on our path. Don’t miss this week of adventure! Cooking Basics July 18-22 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: TBA Learn basic cooking techniques such as measuring, chopping (using safe plastic knives!), and how to read a recipe. Then use your knowledge to create something delicious. Each day explores a cuisine such as desserts or breakfast foods. Irish Dancing July 18-22 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-6th • $165 Teacher: Grace Runkel, Irish Dancer Immerse yourself in Irish culture through song and dance! To master this stylized dance you need to learn and practice special technical moves with crossed knees, straight posture, and correct foot movements. Ballet shoes are required and provided. Participants can bring their own if they prefer. Soccer July 18-22 • 1pm - 4pm • K5-5th • $150 Teacher: Ralston Moore, Soccer Coach and Former Jamaican National Player Join this camp as a beginner or with some experience. Through drills, games, and small sided matches players improve their technique in dribbling, passing, shooting and team play, all while having a blast! Stop Motion Animation July 18-22 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Mr. Dove, YouTuber, and Former Elementary School Media Teacher If you haven’t done stop motion animation before, you may be missing out. This fun class explores stop motion animation using props, drawings, and technology. Create your own stories, build scenes, create sound effects and more! You will take still pictures and then put them together over and over using technology to exciting show movements. Campers explore art, creativity, technology, and movie-style action in this unique experience. Week 8: July 25-29 AM (9am-12pm) Actors Studio July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $150 Teacher: Mr. Dove, Mr. Dove, Actor, Performer, Youtuber, and Former Elementary School Media Teacher Come explore creativity through voice, body and imagination. Learn the basics of acting using games, fun exercises, and unique scenarios to explore expression. Develop skills in teamwork, self-confidence, self- expression and how to show emotion through body language.
Adventures in 3-D Printing July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 4-7th • $185 Teacher: Code Ninjas® Professional Sensei Powered by Code Ninjas®, campers explore a foundation in 3D modeling by designing simple structures. Ninjas choose a path of creating a new model in TinkerCAD or importing a design to remix. Along the way, learn tips, techniques and associated best practices for exciting explorations in 3D modeling and printing. Get Ready for 4th Grade July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 4th • $165 Teacher: Ellen Gordon, Elementary School Teacher Review key skills in reading, writing and math to start the school year off with confidence! The reading review includes practice with comprehension, plot summarizing, character analysis, using context clues, and sequencing stories. The writing review offers practice in grammatical skills and the writing process. This camp also reviews key math skills such as regrouping, fractions, multiplication/division fluency and problem solving strategies. Slimetopia Glow Camp July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Science Teacher This fun STEAM camp is powered by Challenge Island®. If you are slime crazy and love working in the dark, this camp is for you! Not only will we make different types of slime but we will add in our top challenges, glow-in-the-dark style! Explore slime mixed with roller coasters, putt putt, even a space challenge that will take our imaginations out of this world! Volleyball July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 2-4th • $150 July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 5-6th • $150 July 25-29 • 9am - 12pm • 7-8th • $150 Teacher: Carolina One Volleyball Professional Coaches This camp is for beginners and those with some experience. Strengthen your technique in serving, passing, defense, and scoring. Players will improve individual and group play through drills focused on skill work and small matches every day. Campers are grouped by age and skills giving all opportunities to have fun and improve individual technique.
PM (1-4pm) Arcade Mania July 25-29 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Challenge Island® Science Teacher Powered by Challenge Island®, this Kids-Choice Challenge Island adventure puts a 100% SCREEN-FREE STEAM twist on popular video games: From Super STEAMio to Island Blox to Mine Island to Fort Island to retro-inspired games like Space Aliens and Pinball Machines! You and your STEAM Team will swap game consoles for creativity and joysticks for ingenuity and imagination as you take on Islands of low-tech STEAM challenges created with game-loving kids in mind! Come busta’ rhyme in this trendy and goofy week to explore the rhythm and cadence of comedic rapping. Create song spoofs, remixes and hilarious rap battles. Of course it’ll end with an amazing cypher! While competing with your classmates always remember, keep it clean, keep it witty, and KEEP IT FUNNY. PE Sports July 25-29 • 1pm - 4pm • 1-4th • $150 Teacher: TBA PE is everyone’s favorite subject! Spend this week playing all the games you beg for at school. Ball games, tag games, obstacle courses, team games, individual feats and more in this week of pure fun! Sewing With Patterns July 25-29 • 1pm - 4pm • 4-8th • $185 Teacher: Andi Brown, ASP Teacher, Sewing Enthusiast and Former Early Interventionist This camp is designed for those with some sewing machine experience. Sewers will learn how to use a pattern to create a multiple projects, such as a tote bag. Campers should bring 1 yard of fabric for the tote bag. All other materials are provided, including sewing machines, but participants may bring their own sewing machine if desired. Week 9: August 1-5 AM (9am-12pm) Adventures in Game Design Coding August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $185 Teacher: Code Ninjas® Professional Sensei Powered by Code Ninjas®, ninjas (friends) will explore different programming concepts as they create various games using a block-based programming language called Scratch—a kid-friendly, visual programming environment developed by MIT. Our team will introduce basic game design and programming concepts like loops, functions, and more to create their own games.
Archery August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • 4-8th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Join this camp as a beginner or with some experience. Participants learn how to safely shoot a bow and arrow, strengthen their aim with lots of target practice, and experiment with different types of bows. They design and create their own arrow to take as a keepsake. Broadway August 1-5• 9am - 12pm • 4-7th • $150 Teacher: Diana McElwee, ASP Teacher, Vocal Coach, and Former College Professor of Music Enjoy a week of show tunes and musical theatre. From Hamilton to Cats to The Little Mermaid learn all your favorite songs and dance routines. Practice your how to engage an audience and work on your vocals. Participants select their songs and work individually and on ensemble pieces. Cheerleading August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • K5-5th • $150 Teacher: Ke’Ny-Ja Spurgeon, Cheer & Gymnastics Coach Come learn the basics of cheerleading in a super fun camp. Learn cheers with the movements and chants, along with how to project your voice to lead a crowd. Create cute cheer accessories like megaphones and hair bows. On Friday family is invited to our pep rally. Engineered Art August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher In this great class learn how to make art that moves! From bugs to flying cars, and even an ornithopter, this camp builds wooded objects that are engineered to move with rubber bands and paperclips. This is a true STEAM endeavor! Come learn the science and the art techniques to create cool pieces that fly. Fencing August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • 3-8th • $165 Teacher: Foothills Fencing Professional Fencer This unique experience is an Olympic sport! Learn the rules of fencing, the skills for proper footwork, bladework, distance control, fencing etiquette, and how to be a good sportsman. Fencers start with the foil and all protective gear (mask, breastplate, vest, glove) is provided. Unicorns August 1-5 • 9am - 12pm • 1-4th • $165 Teacher: Andreah Hayes, ASP Teacher Magical unicorns are all around in this whimsical week. Make unicorn crafts and treats. Learn about life as a unicorn: what they eat, where they live, and how they make dreams come true. One day we visit a real unicorn farm at Hidden Pasture Farm.
PM (1-4pm) Capoeira August 1-5 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Melinda Martins, Owner of Upstate Capoeira Capoeira is Afro-Brazilian martial arts that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. Originally developed by slaves, the dance and music was incorporated to disguise fighting technique practice. Led by Upstate Capoeira this exciting camp creates an amazing art with choreographed maneuvers to music. Participants learn the moves, the music, a bit of history and at the end of the week perform for family and friends! Don’t miss this unique offering! Magic Camp: Balloons, Juggling & Tricks August 1-5 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $175 Teacher: Marco Gast, ASP Teacher Become a performer and learn magic tricks, how to juggle, and balloon twisting. Create amazing balloon art and learn the twists to create silly hats, animals, weapons, and flowers. Practice juggling each day and start with scarves then progress to balls. Learn cool magic tricks and wow your friends! Campers receive and keep a kit with a balloon pump and extra balloons. Paper Maché August 1-5 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $165 Teacher: Michael Simpson, ASP Teacher and former Middle School Art & Science Teacher This camp is full of mess and fun! Learn the techniques to form a sculpture piece. Then create your own paper maché paste to build it. Once dry, paint and enhance it to create your own unique sculptures. Artists create their own designs that include animals, giant head pieces, masks, functional pieces or whimsical art. Pet Camp August 1-5 • 1pm - 4pm • 2-5th • $165 Teacher: Andreah Hayes, ASP Teacher Learn how to care for pets like dogs and cats. They need proper care to thrive and this means basics like food and water but it also means love and training. Taking care of pets is hard work but the reward is a gift. Campers make cute items for pets like toys, accessories, and food mats. Some campers keep and some they sell to other campers. During the week we will visit an animal rescue for a lesson, to play with the animals, and donate the money raised from the sale of pet items. Unlock Your Potential: Become a Roblox Developer August 1-5 • 1pm - 4pm • 3-6th • $185 Teacher: Code Ninjas® Professional Sensei Powered by Code Ninjas®, come learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, user-generated online gaming platform similar to Minecraft®. Campers use Roblox to create much more than just a game! Open to all levels of experience, this camp teaches ninjas how to plan, design and build their own 3D world in a hands-on, fully guided experience led by an awesome Code Senseis.
Week 10: August 8-12 All Day (9am-4pm) End of Summer Fun August 8-12 • 9am - 4pm • K5-5th • $235 Teacher: Charles Wimphrie, ASP Teacher This week we enjoy all our favorite things about summer! Play outdoor games, enjoy water toys, and have a watermelon eating contest. At the beginning of the week campers suggest some of their summer favorites and then choose activities to complete each day. We will even take field trips to local parks for last minute summer fun. AM (9am-12pm) Bike & Hike August 8-12 • 9am - 12pm • 4-8th • $150 Teacher: Marco Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Each day is a new adventure as we hike and bike our way through the region! We hike 2 days and bike 3 days. Campers bring their own bikes and helmets. We bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail, Furman, and Lake Conestee. We hike at Croft State Park and Paris Mountain. PM (1-4pm) Archaeology & Geocaching August 8-12 • 1pm - 4pm • 4-8th • $150 Teacher: Marc Gast, Outdoorsman and ASP Teacher Enjoy an exciting week exploring hidden treasure. Campers will work in teams to create artifacts for a society and then bury them for other teams to uncover, giving each camper a chance to create and uncover an archaeological dig. We will also explore geocaching sites around Greenville and learn to read and use maps to find the caches. Campers can even create little trinkets, like friendship bracelets or painted rocks, to leave at some caches.
