2021 NEW RELEASE ROSES
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
This gorgeous rose is a sport of our
favourite “Love You” and comes to
you as a beautiful classic hybrid tea.
It is graced with salmon pink pointed
flower buds and a cream reverse. A
lush dark green foliage is the perfect
coverage for these blooms, with an
abundance of flowers on the bush, it
is perfect for picking a bunch for in-
doors. This bush is medium height,
up to 1.6 metres with a spread of ap-
proximately 1.1 metres wide, perfect
for any garden space.
RUBY RIBBONS
A dark, dark red, there are almost
hints of black on the edges of some
of the petals. If it wasn't for the
brighter centre of the flower with
yellow stamens the colour would al-
most be too dark. The plant is
spreading, it will trail down over a
low wall or the side of a pot, or if
grown on a flat site will be a mound-
ing ground cover, without getting too
big. Use for ground cover in beds or
borders. Very good in pots and tum-
bling over walls.

2021 NEW RELEASE ROSES Bees’ Paradise Roses ® Bees’ Paradise® is a range of top performing landscape roses for professional use in parks, gar- dens and road medians as well as an exciting addition for home gardens. The four varieties from German rose breeder Tantau will delight nature lovers and create a colourful display in every garden. These landscape roses are a sustainable solution that will bring beauty and colour com- bined with the efficiency of minimal maintenance. They are ideal in mass planting, or in small groups, borders, rockeries and containers. Five to six plants per square metre will create a car- pet of flowers. Bees’ Paradise Roses® are dense, compact and bushy with a low spreading habit to cover the ground, approximately 40-60cm in height. These varieties feature continuous flowering in abun- dance and the spent flowers drop reasonably cleanly. The large clusters of single or semi-double flowers open fully to allow the pollen and nectar to be easily accessible to bees and other in- sects. The plants are surprisingly sturdy with healthy, disease resistant foliage and a high toler- ance to summer heat and sunburn. The four colours are: Red, White, Pink and a Salmon/Yellow Bi Colour. The bees are drawn to the prominent yellow stamens and the colour yellow. Given the volume of flowers and long flower- ing season, these roses contribute to the survival of bees offering food for most of the year. Bees are the world’s most important pollinator, transferring pollen between flowering plants and keeping the cycle of life turning. The vast majority of plants we need for food rely on polli- nation, especially by bees. In fact, nearly two-thirds of Australia’s agricultural production bene- fits from honey bee pollination. Bee Facts
There are over 1,500 species of Australian na-
tive bees.
Not all bees are yellow. Native bees can be
many different colours, including black, yellow,
red metallic green or even black with blue pol-
ka dots
Commercial honey bees (Apis mellifera) are not
native to Australia. They were introduced from
Europe in about 1822.
A single honey bee may collect 1/12 teaspoon
of honey in her lifetime.
Not all bees can sting. Ten species of Australian
native bees are stingless.
Pure honey was found in 2,000 year-old Egyp-
tian pyramids, and was still edible.

winner features rich golden yellow blooms, a mild

plant is reliable and easy to grow with excellent
disease resistance and ideal for use as a border in
massed plantings creating a brilliant colourful
display. A beautiful way to remember your loved
one and help families affected by blood cancer.
BLACK CAVIAR
A very special cultivar! Medium sized blooms with velvet burgundy red flowers and black purple on the
edges, colouring to brighter in the centre. This rose is extremely fragrant, with notes of old fashioned roses,
vanilla and honey jasmine. The flowers are very full and quartered, similar to the shape of old historic roses.
Part proceeds from the sale of the Black Caviar Rose support the National Jockeys Trust.

BUTTERFLY KISSES - VARIETY THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY
Variety The Children’s Charity gives children who are sick, disadvantaged or who
have special needs, life changing help when they need it most. Butterfly Kisses
will help raise funds for this wonderful children’s charity.
This rose is a robust floribunda with large blooms of pearly pink and a medium
fruity citrus fragrance. The blooms on this bush are elegant and
plentiful, appearing in clusters of three to seven flowers
throughout the season. Perfect for beds, borders and mass
plantings, this bush grows to approx. 1m high.
DANIEL MORCOMBE FOUNDATION ROSE
This rose has exquisite, dark red velvety blooms, continuously flowering throughout the growing season and
performs well during our hot summers. The blooms are a classic rose shape with high pointed centres and they
open to a size of approximately 10cm, carried on long, straight stems. The bush is very disease resistant, tall and
upright. At 1.5m in height, it provides attractive glossy green foliage as a back drop and it produces many
beautiful blooms, creating a wonderful display in your garden as well as a spectacular cut-flower rose in
arrangements. Part proceeds from the sale of this rose will assist the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc. The
foundation was established to create a legacy for Daniel by providing a safer environment for children. It
provides child safety awareness programs across Australia and also helps victims of crime.
DOLLY’S DREAM TM
This rose varies in colour and has shades of purple,
mauve, lavender and hues of pink.
In remembrance of Amy “Dolly” Everett, a Royalty is
paid from every sale to the Alannah & Madeline
Foundation, supporting programs that focus on
protecting children from violence and creating
behaviour changes in the community to reduce
bullying and cyber bullying.
FIRESTAR TM
The FireStar is an award-winning rose with
fascinating flowers made up of unusual wavy
petals. The bloom is a kaleidoscope of colours
including scarlet, mandarin orange and raspberry
which soften as the flowers age. A medium to large
flower, with a light herbal scent, this rose is a bushy
disease resistant plant and grows to approximately
1m high x 0.80m wide.
GUARDIAN ANGEL
A beautiful off white shrub rose with excellent fragrance on a
well-shaped bush with many buds to a stem. The elegant
cupped-shaped flowers have over 40 soft petals, that
sometimes appears as a soft pearl colour, with pale apricot
centres in Autumn. This rose has a fresh, pleasing perfume
making it a great choice for indoor cut flowers.
Guardian Angel has good disease resistance and is very easy to
maintain. This bush rose grows to approx. 1.25mtrs high x
75cm wide.

A multiple award-winning rose. A vigorous upright Hybrid Tea,
with striking luminous bright red blooms, a light perfume and
large spiral buds with glossy dark green foliage. Growing to
1.5m tall, this high performance rose is big on impact, just like
the late great Peter Brock.
This rose symbolises and honours the legacy of Australian
motor racing driver, Peter Brock. Peter was awarded the
Australian Medal in 1980 for his unrivalled contribution to
motorsport and his tireless community work. The Peter Brock
Foundation was established before his death in 2006 as part of
his commitment to support individuals, families, community
groups and organisations experiencing difficulties.
S A C WA R O S E
Very vigorous Hybrid Tea with very dark, velvet red large flowers,
sweetly scented. The plant produces stout shoots with plenty of basal
shoots. Large rain resistant flowers that are long lasting. Use in
bedding, small groups. Good for cutting.
The SACWA (South Australian Country Women’s Association)
rose will be promoted and used to raise funds for programs that
support rural aid for farmers across Australia.

Winner of the annual People’s Choice competition in
the National Rose Trial Gardens with a huge 698 votes
out of 1204, “We Will Remember Them” is an
impressive Hybrid Tea with large high-centred blooms
worthy of a prime position in any garden. Growing to
1.7m x 1.2m, this rose produces a prolific number of
decorative blooms of rich yellow, edged with bright
orange petals.
“We Will Remember Them” is to commemorate
Australia’s involvement in the First World War at Villers
Brettenoux. Knight's Roses will donate part proceeds
from the sale of each rose to the Office of Australian
War Graves to assist in the maintenance of war

clusters of 3-5 creamy-white, full flowers. The flowers
remain on the bush for a long time and with a dense,

PLANTING guide Bare Root Roses – Winter Dormant Make sure roots are kept wet until ready for planting. Dig a planting hole twice as wide as roots and combine well-rotted compost. Create a small mound in planting hole for roots to sit on. Position plant so that the main stem or graft is approx. 25mm above soil. Backfill with soil, combining some slow release fertiliser. Water well via deep soaking. Trim back half the stem length (see diagram). Potted Roses – Anytime of the Year Dig a hole larger than pot and combine slow release fertiliser to base of hole. Remove well-watered plant from pot without disturbing roots. Place into hole and gently backfill with soil. Water in well via deep soaking. Trim back stems by half during winter dormancy time. A: Roses do best in a well-drained area that gets at least 5-6 hours a day of direct sunlight. The soil should be pH neutral and have plenty of organic matter. It’s best to plant roses away from trees and other shrubs that have extensive, established root systems. Q: I think my rose bushes may have spider mites. What should I do? A: Signs of spider mites include yellowing, very fine webs and small dark spots under the underside of leaves. If you see these signs, mites may be the cause. Fortunately, spider mites are usually only a problem during the heat of summer, so check under the leaves regularly. If you see signs of mites, spray under all the leaves in the early morning every day for several days and thoroughly wet the ground under the roses to create humidity, which discourages mites. A miticide can be used in severe cases, but this is usually expensive and should not be used more than twice in one year. Q: When is the best time to prune my rose bushes? A: July is the best time to prune roses in Australia (or in August if your area receives frost). Q: What are some guidelines for pruning? A: When pruning a rosebush, you’ll want to cut the bush back by at least half of its height. If there are any sections that did not produce good growth in the past season, trim these areas back. Thin any crowded areas and trim any branches smaller than 1 cm in diameter. It’s also a good idea to spray after pruning to prevent fungal spores such as blackspot, mildew and rust. 23.
