    Longleaf Commitment Grant
    (Curriculum)
    The Longleaf Commitment is a grant program for 2021

    North Carolina high school or GED graduates who

    will attend Rockingham Community College starting
    in the Spring 2022 semester. Eligible 2021 high school
    graduates will receive this grant (it’s not a loan!) for
    tuition and fees toward a degree or to attain transfer
    credit. Full-time eligible students are guaranteed to
    receive at least $1,400 per semester for four semesters
    (two years). Less than full-time students may receive a
    partial award. Please encourage all 2021 High School
    grads to attend RCC this spring. See back cover.

Cybersecurity Analyst:                    This course prepares students to evaluate the weaknesses of
traditional and wireless networks for the purpose of incident response, reconstruction, and investigative
techniques. It is for professionals looking to perform data analysis and interpret the results, use threat                     new
detection tools, and protect applications and systems within an organization. Skills covered include threat
and vulnerability management, security architecture, and cyber-incident response. Students will prepare
for the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) exam.  An intermediate IT skill level is recommended. Class
meets face-to-face one night a week and a portion of the coursework is delivered online. Prepayment of
tuition and purchase of the course materials is required. Registration fees do not include certification exam fees.

                                                        This tuition-free program helps qualifying
                                                        adults complete a high school diploma through
                                                        individualized instruction. Students must pass
                                                        required high school level courses and students
                                                        are awarded credit for previously completed high

                                                        Many students in our program are preparing to
                                                        take an exam such as HiSET® or GED®, to earn a
                                                        high school equivalency credential. Other students
                                                        may have already completed a high school
                                                        credential, but are improving their reading and
                                                        math skills to be more competitive in the workforce
                                                        or more successful in college courses.
