From the President’s Desk This spring, RCC will continue to award a grant or Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund scholarship to ALL curriculum students and most (Continuing Education) 96+ hour continuing education students. Longleaf Commitment Grant (Curriculum) The Longleaf Commitment is a grant program for 2021 Dr. Mark O. Kinlaw North Carolina high school or GED graduates who President will attend Rockingham Community College starting in the Spring 2022 semester. Eligible 2021 high school graduates will receive this grant (it’s not a loan!) for tuition and fees toward a degree or to attain transfer credit. Full-time eligible students are guaranteed to receive at least $1,400 per semester for four semesters (two years). Less than full-time students may receive a partial award. Please encourage all 2021 High School grads to attend RCC this spring. See back cover. It is for professionals looking to perform data analysis and interpret the results, use threat new detection tools, and protect applications and systems within an organization. Skills covered include threat and vulnerability management, security architecture, and cyber-incident response. Students will prepare for the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) exam. An intermediate IT skill level is recommended. Class meets face-to-face one night a week and a portion of the coursework is delivered online.
