Welcome to Raz Studios. At Raz Studios we pride ourselves on excellence in Dance Education within a fun, positive and supportive environment. Our mission to teach life lesson through the love of Dance whilst creating happy memories. Our values of commitment, connection and growth are the driving force behind the success of Raz Studios. This document provides you with information about Raz Studios and the policies and processes at which all parents/caregivers and students must abide by in order to maintain the fun, positive and supportive environment that Raz Studios strives for. Age group structure Please contact Raz Studios to discuss what age group/classes your child is best suited to. Fees Raz Studios offers 2 methods of payment. i) Weekly direct debit ii) Upfront payment prior to the commencement of each term via direct debit, EFT or cash. With the exception of term 1 where fees are due by the end of week 1. Families will be required to select their preferred method of payment upon enrolment. Families choosing to pay upfront, if payments are not cleared by mentioned dates (below), your child will not be permitted to pat rake in classes. Any late payments will incur a $10.00 administration fee per child per fortnight that payment is overdue. Families choosing to pay via direct debit, payments that ‘bounce’ will incur a $10.00 fee per child per time the payment is not successful. Families choosing to pay via direct debit must complete the Ezidebit form before Raz Studios can confirm enrolment. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Enrolment (which can be viewed by clicking HERE), fees are charged per week per child and term. Term due dates for 2022 are listed below should you wish to pay for your child’s fees up front each term: Term 1- 6th February 2022
Term 2- 25th April 2022 Term 3- 17th July 2022 Term 4- 9th October 2022 Classes that will incur additional fess include solos, HSC dance tutoring and exam preparation. Classes do not run on Public holidays. Raz Studios does not charge for classes that fall on Public holidays. Enrolment fees must be paid upon your child/children’s enrolment in Raz Studios. The enrolment fee is $30.00 per student or for a family of 3 or more students $60.00. Procedure for fee payment at Raz Studios Raz Studios will send an invoice via email to each family in or about week 9 of each term for the following term. Raz Studios processes payments each Monday and any questions or queries related t accounts will be addressed by Raz Studios accounts manager on Mondays only. Fees as at 30.12.21 (Raz Studios reserves the right to change/alter the fees or fee payment procedure at any time without notice). All prices stated are per child. All prices include GST. FREE trial lessons are valid for new students of Raz Studios only. Existing students may trial as many classes as they wish in week 1 of term1 with their invoice reflecting the amount of classes that they wish to continue with. For example, a student may trial 5 classes in week 1 and choose to do 3 of them, the invoice will then reflect 3 classes being undertaken for the entirety of term 1.
Fees are non-refundable or transferrable under any circumstance except in an extreme medical situation where a detailed letter from a certified medical practitioner is required to be given to Raz Studios principal within 1 week of the illness/incident. Creative Kids and Active Kids vouchers Raz Studios is an official provider for both Creative Kids and Active Kids vouchers. Please note that all vouchers must be submitted prior to the commencement of the term that you wish to use them for and should a voucher bounce a $20.00 administration fee per bounced voucher will be charged. All vouchers must be sent to lenae@razstudios.com.au by the set date (below). Any vouchers not received by the set date will be stored and used for the following term. All fees must be paid in full by the due date of each term. For example, if your fees are $300.00 and you have submitted 1x Active Kids voucher, you are required to pay the balance of $200.00 by the due date otherwise you will encounter the late administration fee. Raz Studios has a fact sheet on how to submit and use your voucher at Raz Studios. This factsheet is sent to all new families (who have primary or high school aged student) upon their enrolment. More information about both Active and Creative kids vouchers can be found at www.servicensw.gov.au . Dates for voucher submission can be found below; Term Date vouchers must be submitted by 1 6th February 2022 2 25th April 2022 3 17th July 2022 4 9th October 2022 How to pay fees if choosing to pay term fees upfront) or other associated payments Option 1 (Cash)- Hand a clearly labelled envelop (for example, John Citizen, Term 1 fees) to Lenae Razbusek with the correct money enclosed. Option 2 (Direct Deposit)- Direct bank deposit (account details are on all invoices). If you direct deposit any money, please write the transaction description as your child’s name and the invoice number. You then need to forward the remittance advice to lenae@razstudios.com.au Option 3 (EFTPOS)- EFTPOS is available at the studio. All payments will receive a receipt via email Missed lessons Any lessons that are missed are not refundable or transferable. Out of courtesy if your child is unable to attend class it is appreciated if a text message is sent to the Raz Studios phone so that your child’s teacher can be notified. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, if you provide a minimum of 24hours written notice to Raz Studios (via either text or email) that your child is unable to attend class, we may offer a make-up lesson for the same or similar age/class where possible in the same term. Raz Studios offers a maximum of 2 make up lessons per term per student. If classes are missed due to a performance, these classes will not be made up. Fees from those classes will cover performance related costs. If classes are missed due to Raz Studios organising 2 performance events within a term, Raz Studios will make up 1 of those classes.
Public holidays Raz Studios does not operate on NSW public holidays. Invoices reflect this. Uniform and presentation for class Feeling unified and equal is important in all children’s lives. At Raz Studios we believe that wearing a uniform to class creates a sense of belonging for all children and helps to create a sense of pride and connection. All students must attend every lesson in their correct uniform. Any student who is not in the correct uniform after week 3 of term 1 will not be permitted to enter class. Dance Circus Full Length Raz tights Cirque Raz singlet For all shoe requirements please refer to page 5 and 6. All male dancers are to wear black shorts or ¾ pants with a Raz Studios t-shirt. The only jacket/jumper that is permitted to be worn to class is the Raz Studios hoodie jacket or Raz Studios slim fit jacket. Please note no students will be permitted to wear flared long length pants into any class, this is a safety precaution. Only official Raz Studios and Ready Set Dance uniforms are to be worn in class. In cooler months it is advised that students wear ballet tights (or tan tights for intermediate and seniors), a Raz cross over and leg warmers. The only jacket that is permitted to be worn is the Raz Studios hoodie or Raz Studios slim fit jacket. Hair must be in a bun for all Ballet and Pointè classes. For all other classes hair is to be pulled back off the face and tied up tightly to ensure that it is secure. A head band is suggested in order to keep hair off the face. What should my child bring to class with them? Please ensure that your child brings a drink bottle with water in it to class each week. If your child has a break between classes it is advised that they bring a healthy snack to eat (in the waiting room). We are a nut free studio. Please remember that eating is NOT permitted in the studio under any circumstances and water is the only drink that is permitted. Correct footwear Raz Studios practices and encourages safe dance practice for all students! A part of safe dance and ensuring the safety of your child is that your child is wearing the correct footwear for each class. Your child will not be permitted to participate in any class where they do not have the correct shoes. Below is a table outlining the correct footwear for each discipline taught at Raz Studios. If you need help in choosing or getting your child’s shoes please do not hesitate to contact Lenae Razbusek on 0435 470 446. Please note that if your child does not have the correct footwear they may be asked to sit down in class. Safety first! Please ensure that you seek professional assistance from the friendly staff at Centrestage Dancewear or Bloch when purchasing your child’s Dance shoes. Poor fitting or non-dance specific shoes can be detrimental to your child’s health. After consultation with specialised Dance medical specialists Raz Studios strongly advises against purchasing any shoes from department store such as Big W, Kmart and Aldi as these shoes are not safe for your child to wear and can cause long term damage to their growing feet/bodies. ALL int and snr students MUST wear black lace up tap shoes. Please note- students in cheerleading and acro will be required to purchase additional shoes for the concert. Where to purchase your child’s uniform and shoes For all Raz Studios apparel and various class uniform requirements please see Raz Studios staff. For all of your dance shoe needs we highly recommend Centerstage Dancewear on Monaro St Seven Hills, otherwise Bloch at Rouse Hill or Parramatta do stock all of your child’s dance shoe requirements. Flair Dancewear in Wetherill Park will also be able to assist with all of your show requirements. Supervision and collection of children Raz Studios is not responsible for students past the time of the conclusion of their class or prior to their class beginning. If you are running late for any reason, please send Lenae Razbusek a text message to 0435 470 446 stating your child’s name and how late you will be.
Raz Studios is not responsible for children outside of class time. This includes prior to classes commencing for the day and after the last class. If your child/ siblings are inside the studio whether that be whilst they are in class, whilst they are waiting for class to commence or waiting to be picked up it is expected that they sit on the side of the studio and behave appropriately. If your child is running around inside the studio prior to classes commencing they will be asked to wait in the waiting room as it can be a potential safety concern. This is also expected of any siblings present. Please ensure that you are on time to collect you children as children become quiet anxious when they are waiting to be picked up. Punctuality to class is essential for your child’s learning, so please ensure that you are at the studio ready for class 5 minutes prior to the commencement of your child’s class. All students are to be escorted to and from their classes by a parent or guardian. No students are permitted to walk from the car park to the studio by themselves. If your child has a gap between classes prior arrangements may be made with Miss Lenae prior to the commencement of the term for your child to sit in the studio with the class teacher. Students will not be permitted to wait in the studio if they have no other classes to attend. Students may wait in the waiting room at any time, however if they are not physically enrolled in a class that is happening at the said time, Raz Studios is not responsible for their supervision. Siblings who are not enrolled students of Raz Studios are not permitted to sit and wait in the studio at any time and must be under direct supervision of parents whilst at the studio. Positive attitude At Raz Studios we pride ourselves in providing a fun and safe learning environment. When at Raz Studios every single person including the students, the parents and the staff have the right to feel safe. It is an expectation of Raz Studios that all students show their utmost respect towards their teachers and other staff and that all students are friendly towards each other. It is also an agreement of enrolling your child at Raz Studios that you as a parent/caregiver will also exhibit a positive and friendly attitude towards the staff, other students and other parents/caregivers. Therefore any parent/caregiver who is aggressive or rude towards any Raz Studios staff member will be asked to leave Raz Studios and not return. Raz Studios has a strict ZERO tolerance to negativity, gossiping and rudeness. It is requested that any issues are addressed with Lenae Razbusek at a time scheduled that works for both the parent/caregivers as well as Lenae Razbusek and is done in a confidential manner. ZERO tolerance to Bullying Raz Studios has a ZERO tolerance to bullying policy. Every single child has the right to feel happy and safe whilst at dancing. Dancing is a place where every child should feel loved, valued and special. If bullying occurs within Raz Studios, all students involved will be spoken to by the class teacher and then Raz Studios principal Lenae Razbusek. The parents of those involved will be spoken to by Lenae Razbusek and depending upon the situation, the student/students whom bullies another child may be suspended from class or asked to leave Raz Studios at the discretion of Lenae Razbusek with no refund of any fees given. This includes but is not limited to verbal bullying within the studio and cyber bullying outside of class time. Raz Studios is proud of the safe learning environment that we have created and will not tolerate any bullying (by both students and parent/caregivers). At Raz Studios we have an extensive Bullying Policy which is made readily available to all of our families for your referenc.
Bullying, Harassment and discrimination Raz Studio has a zero tolerance to bullying, harassment and discrimination. Intentional sexual harassment is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment or a fine. It is the policy of Raz Studios that bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination and other forms of inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. The following procedure informs students and parents of the type of behaviour that is unacceptable and provides persons who are the victims of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment or discrimination with a means of redress. Complaints will be dealt with fairly, promptly and in a confidential manner. Harassment Harassment is any type of behaviour that the other person does not want and is abusive, belittling or offensive. It does not matter whether it was intended, and may be explicit or implicit, verbal or non-verbal. Sexual Harassment Sexual harassment is unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature by one person to another. Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and other verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Students and/or parents may not always realise that their behaviour constitutes sexual harassment but must recognise that what is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to another. Examples of harassment include: - insensitive jokes and pranks - lewd comments about appearance - inappropriate body contact - displays of sexually offensive material, e.g. pin-ups - requests for sexual favours - speculation about a person’s private life and sexual activities; and - threatened or actual sexual violence. Bullying Bullying is repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed towards a person or group of persons, that creates a risk to their health and safety. Examples of bullying include: - insensitive jokes - pranks intended to humiliate - deliberate exclusion from conversations - abusive, threatening or insulting words and behaviour - displaying abusive writing and pictures, and - spreading of malicious rumours. Complaints All complaints of bullying, harassment and discrimination will be treated very seriously. Any person who reports bullying, harassment or discrimination will not be victimised. Raz Studios is concerned to ensure that students and parents feel able to raise grievances through the this procedures and that no individual will be penalised for doing so, unless it is untrue and made maliciously.
Complaints of bullying, harassment or discrimination must be lodged with Lenae Razbusek who will ensure a full investigation into the complaint and will take the appropriate steps, as she sees fit, to resolve the complaint including, but not limited to: 1. Speaking to the students and /or parents / guardian of the student; 2. Terminating the enrolment of a student 3. Prohibiting a person or persons from attending or entering the property where classes are conducted; and 4. Refer the matter to external parties (such as the legal and enforcement authorities) Social Media Raz Studios has a Facebook page which we encourage all students and their families to ‘like’. We regularly post photos and information on our page. We also an Instagram page. Raz Studios acknowledges its students and parents have the right to contribute content to public communications on websites, blogs and business or social media sites not operated by us. However, inappropriate behaviour on such sites has the potential to cause damage to Raz Studios where those communications can be linked to Raz Studios. All students and parents must therefore refrain from posting, sending, forwarding or using, in any way, any inappropriate material including but not limited to material which: - is intended to (or could possibly) cause insult, offence, intimidation or humiliation to Raz Studios or its students, parents, business partners or suppliers; - defamatory or could adversely affect the image, reputation, viability or profitability of Raz Studios, or its students, parents, business partners or suppliers; and/or - confidential information relating to Raz Studios, students, parents, business partners or suppliers. All students and parents of Raz Studios must comply with this policy. Any breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of the enrolment. For the purposes of this policy, ‘Social Media’ means all internet-based publishing technologies including, but not limited to, social or business networking sites (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn), video and/or photo sharing websites (i.e. YouTube, Flickr), business/corporate and personal blogs, micro-blogs (i.e. Twitter), chat rooms and/or forums. Due to respecting the privacy of Raz Studios staff parents/caregivers are not permitted to contact any Raz Studios staff members via their personal social media accounts or personal phones. All communication must go through official Raz Studios means. Parents/ caregivers are not permitted to ‘friend/follow’ Raz Studios staff. Exclusivity As per our Terms and Conditions, by enrolling your child at Raz Studios you agree that your child will dance exclusively at Raz Studios. No Raz Studios student is permitted to undertake classes, workshops or any other form of lessons at other studios or performing arts organisations under any circumstance. This includes but is not limited to partaking in regular or casual lessons, workshops, junior cheersquads, extension classes or holiday programs. This poses an extreme conflict in interest, is immoral and will not be tolerated.
Performance group/Troupe Raz Studios has a team of performance groups which perform at many community and charity events as well as competitions throughout the year. Entry into performance groups is by invitation only, however, if you wish for your child to be considered please speak with Raz Studios principal Lenae Razbusek. Any student wishing to partake in performance groups must do at least 3 classes per week at Raz Studios, one of which must be Jazz. Students accepted into Troupe are required to sign the Troupe agreement and pay a once off annual fee of $50.00 per student. This fee covers expenses such as routine entry fees for eisteddfods and staffing for such events. Students will not be permitted to commence troupe classes until their contract is signed and returned and their annual fee is paid. Trophy Every student who is enrolled in Raz Studios will receive a trophy at the end of year. To receive this trophy your child needs to attend class regularly, participate in the concert and fees must be up to date. We also award a number of perpetual trophies each year. All perpetual trophy winners get to keep the perpetual trophy until the following concert. Mid-Year Showcase Our annual midyear showcase will be held at The Greater Western Sydney Performing Arts Centre (on the grounds of Plumpton High School) on 3rd July 2022. Concert Our annual concert will be held at The Show Room, St Mary’s Band Clubon Sunday 4th December 2022. All students will be required to arrive at a designated time and no students will be permitted to leave before the conclusion of the concert. All students are encouraged to participate in the concert as a whole years worth of tuition will be put on display. More information regarding times will be given closer to the date. Concert ticket sales Concert tickets will go on sale on 5th November 2022. All concert tickets are sold online through TryBooking. Exact details including the links to purchase tickets will be provided early term 4. Costumes Each child will have 1 routine per class to perform in our end of year concert. This means that they will have 1 costume per class that they do. Ready Set Dance students will wear 1 costume for all of their routines. Ready Set Ballet will have a separate tutu. Costume are purchased via the Raz Studios online costume store. The store will be activated in term 2 with costume purchases needing to be finalised by 16th October 2022. Once costumes are paid for they are not refundable under any circumstance as they will be ordered through our suppliers as a custom order. It is expected that each and every component of every costume is labelled with your child’s name to help assist our dressers at the concert.
All costumes will be distributed to students during class time close to photo day. No costume will be distributed to students who have any outstanding fees or fundraising money/products. Sticker books and charts Children strive off positive encouragement and feedback. At Raz Studios every child in our Ready Set Dance, Ready Set Ballet, TumbleTown and Little Monkeys will receive a sticker on their sticker chart as a reward for active participation, listening to instructions and having fun whilst dancing each week. Exam Work Exam work will be offered in Ballet and Tap. Exam work is embedded in all classes and exercises are taught to all students. This is how students learn the basic techniques of the chosen discipline which they can then put into practice. However, not all students will be expected to or will sit their exams. Sitting exams is upon invitation by the class teacher and the decision of the Principal Lenae Razbusek along with your child’s teacher is final. The Ballet syllabus that Raz Studios follows is Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). The Tap syllabus that Raz Studios follows is Glen Wood Tap (GWT). Entering exams will incur additional fees. Students whom wish to/are invited to sit for their exams will be required to participate in additional classes per week in preparation. These classes will incur additional fees and cannot be included in any discounted packages. Full uniform will be required when sitting exams which may incur additional fees. Please note that students sitting their RAD ballet exams will be required to purchase a specific uniform. Details will be provided to your child once it has been confirmed that they will be sitting their exam. Solo classes Solo classes offer one on one classes with your child and their teacher. Solo classes help students improve on their own personal performance skills and techniques with very close attention and direction. Solo students are encouraged to compete in eisteddfords, talent quests, performances, showcases and any other opportunities that may arise. Solo classes are by invitation only. If you are interested in your child having a solo lesson you need to speak with Raz Studios principal Lenae Razbusek. Along with your child’s class teacher Lenae Razbusek’s decision is final. Solo classes will incur additional fees that cannot be included in the specials or price packages. P.O.A. Solo classes will also incur additional fees for costumes. Solo classes are subject to availability of teachers and studio space. All students who do solos MUST do Ballet. There will be no exceptions to this rule. When a student is ready to start to enter eisteddfods and various competitions, this is done by the parent/caregiver and is done so at their expense. Your child’s teacher or Lenae Razbusek will inform you of when your child is ready to start to enter such competitions and will suggest some places to enter your child. The parent/caregiver will be responsible for sending through and paying for all entries made and the parent/caregiver is responsible for taking their child to and from said competitions.
Pointé All students who wish to do Pointé at Raz Studios must attend a regular ballet class on a weekly basis in addition to their Pointé class. No student will be permitted to start Pointé at Raz Studios (regardless of prior training) without an assessment by their ballet teacher or Raz Studios principal Lenae Razbusek and a clearance from Raz Studios preferred specialist Dance Physiotherapist whose joint decision will be final. All students whom wish to participate in Pointé classes (regardless of prior training) must get a physiotherapist pre Pointé assessment completed by the physiotherapist recommended by Lenae Razbusek. The details of the dance physiotherapist will be given only upon application. No other physiotherapists recommendations will be considered. It is asked that prior to purchasing your child’s Pointé shoes that you consult your child’s ballet teacher and that you consult them before sewing on the ribbons. Please note that the safety of your child is the most important thing to us at Raz Studios so therefore no child will be permitted to do/start Pointé until it is deemed that they are physically ready and capable. Injury Management Raz Studios wishes to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our class environment for the benefit of our students and parents. As a consequence of this, we encourage employees, students and parents to regard accident prevention and safely as a collective and individual responsibility. We are therefore committed to: - undertaking risk management activities to adequately manage risks to persons in the our class environment;. - Compliance with all relevant legislation standards, and other requirements. - Providing adequate facilities to protect the welfare of all students and parents at our sites. Students and parents must: - Take reasonable care, in using our premises and facilities, so as to prevent injuries to self and others; - Co-operate in reasonable changes designed to assist preventing injuries or illnesses (such as Covid19); - Notify Raz Studios of an injury incurred on our sites as soon as possible; - Co-operate in reasonable efforts by Raz Studios to identify the cause and reasons for the injury to enable the implementation of improved processes (if any); - Comply with the requirements of any Injury Risk Management Plan (that we may introduce at a site) Drugs and Alcohol
Raz Studios is a drug and alcohol-free environment. The use of controlled substances is inconsistent with the behaviour expected of students, parents or visitors who attend our sites; it subjects all employees, students, parents and visitors of Raz Studios to our facilities to unacceptable safety risks and it undermines our ability to operate effectively and efficiently. Therefore: - The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, sale or use of a controlled substance (such as alcohol) at any premises we operate is strictly prohibited. - Persons who breach this policy may be required to leave the premises immediately and/or may be prohibited from attending the premises into the future. Smoke-free environment Raz Studios provides a healthy, comfortable and enjoyable environment for all its students and parents. The health hazards related to smoking are well documented. These health hazards impact on both the smoker and the non-smoker who is exposed to second-hand smoke. Therefore, Raz Studios will provide a smoke-free environment to all its students, parents and visitors who attend our premises. Therefore: - All Raz Studios sites are smoke-free. No smoking is permitted by staff, students, parents and visitors in external areas on any site controlled by Raz Studios. This includes entrances to buildings and offices, boundary fences and gardens. If persons wish to smoke they must leave our site to do so. - This policy is applicable to all employees, students parents, visitors, contractors and all others accessing our sites and facilities. Anything not covered in this policy booklet will be dealt with by the decision made by Raz Studios principal Lenae Razbusek whose decision is final and shall not be entered into.
