2022 NEDA ANNUAL CONFERENCE MAY 11-13, 2022 - THE PEPPERMILL Connect with other economic developers from across the state at the 2022 NEDA Annual Conference on May 11-13, 2022 in Valentine, NE! The 2022 NEDA Annual Conference is once again the place to be for professionals involved in Economic Development. The convention will feature educational sessions requested by Economic Development professionals that will draw members from across the state. For three days, professionals from across the state will come together in Valentine to take advantage of leading educational programming, ideas, and networking opportunities applicable to their everyday work lives. Conference Speakers & Session Descriptions “Growing Me = Growing Them” - Kayla Schnuelle What is your growth edge and why does it matter? How do you carve out intentional time to grow YOU? Join Kayla in a highly engaging session to uncover how personal discernment can reshape your trajectory. Giving from an empty cup doesn’t neces- sarily fill other cups, so focusing on YOU is critical. “Redemptive Entrepreneurship & Hiring the Formerly Incarcerated” - Jeremy Bouman In this session you will learn about a workforce readiness program in Nebraska called RISE that is preparing returning citizens for employment both pre-release and post-release. You will also learn about federal incentives your business can ac- cess through second chance hiring including tax credits, insurance bonds and wage reimbursement. Finally, you will also learn about the RISE Business Academy, a pro- gram helping returning citizens start small businesses in Nebraska. “Growing Community Together” - Angie Stenger Despite a global pandemic, Northeast Nebraska kept things moving in the effort to proactively transform the regional economy and population growth. Angie Stenger, Executive Director of Growing Together Northeast Nebraska will share some of the community successes and the value of community partnerships. “Valentine “The 3 R’s” – Recreation, Reservation, Ranching” Mike Burge, ED Director will facilitate a conversation with Dean Jacobs -Chamber Director, Regina Osburn – Director of Tourism, and Roger Brashears – Prairie Club Director of Operations on the local economy make up, contributors, and diversifica- tion here in Valentine. “The Good Life is Calling Campaign Update ” – Clint! Runge The State of Nebraska teamed up with Archrival to create the national brand cam- paign “The Good Life is Calling.” Clint!
