PREVIEW OF NOVEMBER 2021 DESERT TOUR STAY AND PLAY WHERE THE PROS PLAY! As with all our tours, Teed Up’s focus is on the best golf courses and real golf facilities, not non-golfer travel agent bus tours and sight seeing designed by people that don’t play golf! I first visited Palm Springs in 2001 and was completely blown away—I had never imagined a place like this existed. The landscape, the colours and the quality of golf courses, were all amazing. I've been back a few times since, but I have never really taken a group on a dedicated Desert tour— so, in November 2021, it’s on! I have put together a great mix of courses, (some really private) and we will have an incredible time throughout this trip. This trip is limited to only 24 golfers, so I am sure that it will sell out . I hope that you can join me for Teed Up’s Desert Golf Tour in November 2021. Mike Mosher, Director of Golf & PGA Professional Teed Up Golf Tours SCOTTSDALE Located in the beautiful landscape of the Sonoran Desert, Scottsdale is a chic, sophisticated and thoroughly modern community which has attracted a strong following of golfers seeking golf in a dramatic desert landscape. With a wonderful year-round climate and some sensational resorts, it’s the perfect venue for that USA golf break you’ve always dreamed about. Teed Up is often asked by our customers, what are the best golf courses in Scottsdale? We have picked 4 (subject to change and availability until tour is locked in) of what we feel are some of the best – Troon North, We-Ko-Pa, Southern Dunes and Quintero. Superb views and a fantastic layout on all the courses, makes for challenging and fun golf. Stunning desert scenery with mountain backdrops; lush green fairways form an oasis of green. PALM SPRINGS The desert oasis of Palm Springs is home to a number of beautiful golf resorts, many boasting PGA-calibre championship courses. Filled with wonderful scenery and blessed with a glorious climate, it’s little surprise why Palm Springs come out on most people’s golf vacation list. Here you will find the perfect environment for enjoying and improving your game: abundant sunshine, low humidity, dramatic desert scenery and easy accessibility. Make sure to pack your sunglasses and sun screen as the Golden State will deliver when it comes to the weather. ITINERARY DAY 3 Golf: Silverrock Resort SilverRock Resort is an Arnold Palmer Classic Course and is one of the Home Courses of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Measuring at 7578 yards from the tips, it is the longest layout in Palm Springs and is one of the longest courses on the PGA tour. Opened in early 2005, this layout is situated right at the base of Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains – and is closer to these mountains than any other public course in the Palm Springs area. As a result, the views are postcard quality, with gorgeous backdrops and surrounding vistas. Combined with outstanding conditioning from tee to green and wonderful service, Silver Rock provides one of the most memorable golfing experiences in La Quinta – or anywhere! You will absolutely love this layout. SILVEROCK GOLF COURSE DAY 4 DAY AT LEISURE Thursday 11th Nov 2021 Today you can take the opportunity to explore Palm Springs or simply relax and enjoy all of the facilities offered at your resort
ITINERARY DAY 5 Golf: The Palms Golf Course Enjoy a true classic golfing experience – with no tee times, fast play, and no overcrowding – at The Palms Golf Club in La Quinta. Ideally located just a few minutes away from Palm Springs, this is The Ultimate private club. Playing at The Palms Golf Club guarantees breathtaking views of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains, fresh citrusy air and spectacular 18- hole regulation-length course designed by Bryan Curling and Fred Couples. This is not your typical resort course. The Palms Golf Club is home to more than 50 PGA and LPGA professionals, which includes the likes of Arnold Palmer and Fred Couples and more than a hundred single-digit handicap amateurs. THE PALMS GOLF COURSE
ITINERARY DAY 6 Golf: La Quinta Country Club The La Quinta Resort Mountain Course combines everything the desert has to offer. Many famous tournaments have been played on this legendary and exclusive “VIP players only” golfer’s paradise. Watch for the par-3 16th hole which has a green that is surrounded by desert mountain rocks. This ultra-challenging course features pot bunkers and rock formations, as well as incredible elevations of tee boxes and well-bunkered greens. Ascending to the top of the elevated tee box of the signature 16th enables you to fully appreciate the majesty of this course, named one of Golf Magazine’s Top 100 You Can Play. The Mountain course has been the home to the World Cup, the PGA National Club Pro Championships and the California State Open. One of the top courses in the valley. LA QUINTA—MOUNTAIN COURSE
ITINERARY DAY 7 Drive to Arizona Check in at The Scott Resort & Spa (4.5 hours) Less than 5 minutes’ drive to Old Town Scottsdale, this hotel and spa boasts a torch lit pool, a sandy beach pool and a sun terrace. All rooms include plush bathrobes and premium spa-inspired bath amenities. A flat screen TV, iHome docking station and an in room laptop safe are provided in each room. DAY 8 Golf: Troon North – Monument Course Another Arizona club with a global reputation, Troon North is a truly special place to play. Monument remains one of the most highly regarded layouts in the area, demanding great accuracy and a fine touch on the lightning fast greens. Tom Weiskopf has recently renovated both the Pinnacle and the Monument courses, making them even better than ever. TROON NORTH—MONUMENT COURSE
ITINERARY DAY 9 Golf: We-Ko-Pa Golf Club – Saguaro Course Although slightly younger than its parent course, the Saguaro has quickly gained a reputation that it’s up there with the Cholla. Like many of the courses in Scottsdale, the terrain is spectacular with a scenic layout offering a great desert golfing experience. Already ranked by Golfweek as the best public course in Arizona, don’t miss out on the Saguaro at We-Ko-Pa. WE KO PA—SAGUARO COURSE DAY 10 DAY AT LEISURE Scottsdale is known for its architecture, arts and dining scene so there is plenty to do on your day off—or do nothing at all while enjoying the sunshine by the pool at the Scott Resort.
ITINERARY DAY 11 Golf: Southern Dunes Golf Club This incredible desert course stretches over 320 acres in the south- west of Arizona, incorporating both wide fairways and generous landing areas. One of the amazing accolades for this course includes the 2016 award for the Number 5 Best Course You Can Play in Arizona. Sculpted by Schmidt-Curley Design Inc. in 2002, the course incorporates the sensational landscape as well as towering mounds and hollow valleys for an incredibly scenic game. Precision is required from the tee due to the dunes-style layout, but the difficulty lies within the deep, strategically place bunkers and the multi-tiered greens to provide a challenging round for players of all skill levels. SOUTHERN DUNES GOLF COURSE
ITINERARY DAY 12 Quintero Golf and Country Club Quintero Golf Club sprawls across the high Sonoran desert, bordering Lake Pleasant. It is tucked away in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, but still conveniently located less than an hour northwest of Phoenix. Acres of protected Federal Lands surround the course, further enhancing its secluded feel. Rees Jones and Steve Weisser designed the golf course. He deftly incorporated the rolling hills and valleys as well as hundreds of native cacti and trees including Saguaro, Ocotillo, and Acacia. The dramatic elevation changes guarantee that a flat lie is hard to find. The course is undoubtedly a formidable test but with as many as nine tees per hole, it is accessible to a wide range of skill levels. Quintero G.C. is popular not only for the quality of the design but also for the scenery provided by the mountain views on every hole and the lush landscaping.
