Advice Guide and Booking Procedure We are delighted to showcase what wonderful experiences we can provide your child this academic year. There are a number of curriculum based enrichment opportunities that support the relevant subject area that your child might be studying, along with a structured Enrichment Week in July 2022. Please spend time with your child looking through the booklet, identifying the trips that would be suitable for them, and making sure the trip is available to your child's year group or option group, as some are for specific year groups or option groups. We have worked hard to ensure there are a number of trips and residentials which cover a range of price brackets, we do not expect your child to go on every trip however we recommend looking at the financial impact it will have for your family, along with identifying when deposits and payments will need to be in for before registering your interest on a trip. All of the experiences that are available for your child will be opened up on Parentpay for you to register your child’s interest for a trip from Monday 20th September until Monday 4th October. Please make sure it is an experience your child wants to go on and you can ensure all payment structures are adhered to (see page 31) This year it will not be on a first come first served basis. Once we have received all of the names registered for each trip, we will then undertake our selection process (see page 33).Once this is completed, we will confirm if your child has been given a place on the trip or if they have been put on the waiting list, on Monday 18th October. Having received confirmation we will then open up Parentpay for you to settle deposits which will need to be paid no later than Monday 1st November. At this stage, if you have not paid your deposit,, we will then look to the waiting list to cover the allocated places for each trip. • Please read through the full terms and conditions on Pages 34 and 35 before committing to any trip. Enrichment week July 2022 Each year group will have a particular curriculum focus for the week. We have also made every effort to offer trips and residentials at different price ranges to suit all. Year 7 and 8, alongside their curriculum focus, will have a residential available for them to register their interest for, this will be a great way of forging new relationships and working on their resilience by attempting some of the tasks and activities during each residential. Should you register your interest for the Lake District or Hereford residentials please be aware that you would be away for the week so would be unable to attend the curriculum focused day trips such as Newstead Abbey or Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Year 9 will all have a fun packed activity day on site which will be ran by Lea Green, along with day trips made available such as Silverstone race track and Bletchley Park to work on their inquisitiveness. Year 10 will be undertaking their work experience Monday - Thursday before the whole school will be involved in a sponsored event during Friday morning, more details to follow on this. For further details about Enrichment Week please see page 18. “AIM HIGH” Working together to make our school even better

Further details will follow from the Personal Development Team. CONDUCT AGREEMENT Tibshelf Community School prides itself on the exemplary conduct of its students. The school also expects students to attain an excellent level of attendance in line with the school Attendance Policy. Enrichment trips/activities are arranged in total confidence that this conduct will continue. Taking students away on trips places extra responsibility on the staff concerned and they must be assured that the students will not present either a risk to themselves or to other students. Please read and discuss with your child the importance of taking ownership of the responsibility in this document. Student conduct is monitored in lessons, in their general behaviour around school and as part of the attendance monitoring system. This will be a vital factor in determining whether they are allowed to attend their trip/activity. • We understand that behaviour and attendance will be monitored and will play a vital part in the decision as to whether a student can attend a chosen trip • We understand that the school has the final decision as to whether a student is able to attend a trip • We understand that any penalties imposed due to a cancellation or removal from a trip are liable for payment by the parent/carer • We understand that the cost for any property damaged while on a trip/activity due to carelessness, misconduct or deliberate intent will be the responsibility of the parent/carer • We understand that any behaviour not to a reasonable standard whilst on the trip, will result in arrangements being made for your child returning before the rest of the group. Parents/carers will be responsible for collecting your child or any expenses incurred as a result of this. • We understand that students are expected to have a great time whilst supporting and encouraging fellow students in a safe and responsible manner • We understand that all students are expected to uphold the excellent reputation of Tibshelf Community School. By making the initial payment for a trip/activity you and your child are automatically agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of this Conduct Agreement
