RENAUD « PUTAIN D’EXPO ! » EXHIBITION 16 OCTOBER 2020 TO 2 MAY 2021 MUSÉE DE LA MUSIQUE – CITÉ DE LA MUSIQUE The exhibition proposes an initiatory journey in the form of landscapes, between musical imagination and real-life stories. Unpublished archives reveal the poetic and family roots of this child from the Porte d’Orléans, in love with his native Paris. The exhibition takes visitors along the pavements where Re- naud took his first steps as a street singer and then follows him on to the stages of café-concerts. The heir to Aristide Bruant and the gritty chanson réaliste, the touching teenager in May 1968, the writer of ballads becomes a veritable ar- tist with the now (in)famous song Hexagone. Curators: Johanna Copans and David Séchan Partnership with Universal Music France WHAT IS THE RENAUD EXHIBITION? • An initiatory journey of musical imagination and real-life stories • The discovery of musical fictions penned by Renaud • An immersion in the heart of the singer’s humanistic struggles, his words, his actions and his social struggles fundamental for all generations. In connection with the exhibition: Concert La Bande à Renaud, Monday 26 October at 8.30pm Several generations of singers have covered some of his most beautiful songs. La Bande à Renaud takes to the stage today for this exceptional concert under the musical direction of Édith Fambuena. See opening hours and admission prices for the exhibitions on pages 16 et 17. 9
