1 General Information 1.1 Knowledge of Track Rules It is the responsibility of racers and team members to understand the rules at Tuxedo Park Raceway. Tuxedo Park Raceway uses rules from NKA, AKRA, Briggs & Stratton and IKF and knowledge of the rules of your class resides with the participant. It is a best practice to have copies of rules that are applicable to your class available at all times. It is possible that rules could change during the year. The team at Tuxedo Park Raceway will make every effort to notify those impacted by any changes. 1.2 Code of Conduct Racer/Parent is responsible for the conduct of individuals in their pit. The negative actions of an observer/helper could result in disciplinary action for the participant. 1.3 MyRacePass Tuxedo Park Raceway is a member of the MyRacePass network. Line ups, results, points and scoring for Tuxedo Park Raceway will be available on the MyRacePass Ap. 1.4 General Safety 1.4.1 Raceceiver Raceceivers will be required for all Junior participants. Tuxedo Park Raceway will not require Raceceivers in Adult classes, but we encourage that adult racers to use them. There will limited quantities available each week for $15 per night. Channel 454.000 will be used at Tuxedo Park Raceway. We strongly recommend that you purchase the Raceceiver brand and stay away from the Nitro Bee version. 1.4.2 Fire extinguisher Fire extinguishers are not required, but we encourage all participants to have an extinguisher in their pit. 1.4.3 Open Flame Tuxedo Park Raceway is sanctioned by NKA. Open flames are not allowed in the pits during NKA sanctioned events. There is no escalation structure for violation of this rule. Penalties will be determined by Tuxedo Park Raceway staff. 1.4.4 Motorized Vehicles in the pits Motorized vehicles are not allowed in the pits at any event. There are some circumstances were a push vehicle through the pits is necessary. Those requiring a push vehicle should first clear it with Tuxedo Park Raceway staff. Failure to comply with this rule could lead to disciplinary action. 1.4.5 Racer Safety Equipment All safety equipment must meet NKA standards as explained in their rules package.
All helmets must be closed faced. Hoodies are not allowed. Participants with long hair must have it tied and/or tucked inside uniform. Gloves must be worn at all times when participant is on the racing surface. 1.4.6 Lead Ballast Lead must be identified and secured in accordance with NKA requirements. 1.5 General Information 1.5.1 Pit Stall Reservation Pit stalls can be reserved for $40. This fee is good for the year and includes special events unless otherwise specified. Priority will be given to track/race/class sponsors of Tuxedo Park Raceway. Please contact Tuxedo Park Raceway if you are interested in reserving a pit spot. 1.5.2 Rainout Information If the decision has not been posted in any of the sources identified above, then it has not been made yet. 1.5.3 Proof of Age Tuxedo Park Raceway reserves the right to request proof of age of any driver at any time. Your age on December 31st 2019, determines your competition age for the entire year. Tuxedo Park Raceway recommends that you keep a copy of a minor racers birth certificate with them at all time. 1.6 Sanctioning 1.7 Entries that don’t meet class requirements In our area there is a wide variety of tire and engine combinations. Tuxedo Park Raceway does not want to turn away any racer, but we will also not make a habit of having small classes cannibalize each other. If Tuxedo Park Raceway believes that you race package is comparable to the offerings at the track, you may be required to race with that class. Performance of the kart compared to the standard offering will be used to determine where that kart will start in the feature. Karts that do not meet the requirements of Tuxedo Park Raceway’s current offerings are not eligible for track points or post-race awards. Example 1: If a Cage Junior 1 racer shows up with a Briggs 206, they will race with the Cage Junior 1 class. They will not be eligible for track points or post-race awards. Example 2: If a Cage Adult 206 racer shows up with Hoosier tires, they will race with the Cage Adult 206 (Carlisle Tires). They will not be eligible for track points or post-race awards. Example 3: If a Flat Junior 2 racer shows up with a Predator engine, they will race with the Flat Junior 2 (Clone). They must have a restrictor that matches the requirements of the class. In the case of a Briggs 206, the slide/opening must be appropriate for the class. They will not be eligible for track points or post-race awards.
1.8 Technical Infractions Any racer that fails technical inspection during a heat will be scored in last place for their heat. They will be scored behind DNS and DNF entries for the heat. Any racer that fails technical inspection following a feature will score zero(0) points for the event. Any junior racer that is missing a restrictor or has an altered restrictor will be subject to suspension. This is a safety issue and there will be zero tolerance for restrictor related issues. 1.9 Awards This is what we will do… There will be no post race awards in any unsponsored, non regular with less than 5 participants. All racers that participate in 75% of the all “Points” events will be eligible for post season awards. 1.10 Fuel Jay’s Oil & Propane at 237 West 13th in Crete, NE (Regular 87 – Non Ethanol) will be used as the fuel standard for all events unless otherwise specified. Verification before the event will be available pre race. 1.11 Race Format 1.11.1 Event Operations Unless otherwise specified, pits will open at 4:00 PM. Drawing a registration will close at 6:00 PM. Races will start at 7. Any participant that is late to registration may have the opportunity to start last in their heat races. 1.11.2 Race Operations Tuxedo Park Raceway will utilize the two(2) heat and feature format. Heat starting position will be determined by registration draw (Low to front). Feature starting position will be determined by finishing average in the heat races. Racers with the lowest combined average finishing position in the heat races will start at the front of the feature. Ties will be broken by registration draw. Tuxedo Park Raceway will use this format for all events unless otherwise specified. It is the racer’s responsibility to be prepared to race at time/order required. Tuxedo Park Raceway will make attempts to announce order, but the ultimate responsibility resides with racer/team. 1.11.3 Race Distances Beginner Classes: Heats – 6 Laps, Feature – 12 Laps Amateur & JR Classes: Heats – 8 Laps, Feature – 15 Laps Adult Classes: Heats – 10 Laps, Feature – 18 Laps 1.12 Season Points Points will be scored at each race throughout the season. There may be events during the season that are not a part of the points season. Those races will be identified as “No Points” on the schedule.
Tuxedo Park Raceway will only maintain points for the classes that are listed in the “Class Structure” section. Tuxedo Park Raceway is open to adding weekly classes, but it is best that participants communicate their expectations if their class is not available. Tuxedo Park Raceway uses the NKA scoring system. Please visit NKAonline.com (Section 10.5.19 in 2018 Manual). Exception, Tuxedo Park raceway will not use the total kart bonus in the NKA system. 1.13 Fees Pit Stall Reservation (Optional): $40 Registration Fee: $30. This fee will be once per year for each class that you participate in. All registration funds will be towards end of season awards. There is no registration fee for special events. Racer Pass: $25. It is $15 for each additional class. Pit Pass: $10 Spectator Area: Free It is important to understand that it is a requirement that anyone person in our pit area has a pit pass. NKA does not recognize the “hot/cold” pit process. Individuals without proper insurance in the pit area puts the entire program in jeopardy. Anyone within the pit area that does not have a pit pass faces possible disciplinary action not only for themselves, but racer/team they are with. 1.14 Contact Information Phone: 402-871-3423 Email: nick.a.dice@gmail.com Facebook: Tuxedo Park Raceway Website: racetuxedo.com 1.15 Claims The purpose of a claim is to keep cost of selected classes to a minimum. Only racers in the class can claim others in the class. Tuxedo Park Raceway is also eligible to claim. Tuxedo Park Raceway has the right to refuse any claim for any reason. Racers that refuse claim lose any points and/or awards that would have been scored in the feature. There are no further penalties for claim refusal. 2 Class Structure Tuxedo Park Raceway will make every effort to not turn away any racers, but it is up to participants to communicate with Tuxedo Park Raceway prior to coming to the facility if their class is not listed.

Skirt of piston must remain as produced. No chamfering, radiusing or breaking of edges permitted. Up to .010” over pistons allowed. Connecting Rod: Stock Box Stock rod only. Stock rod bolts only. Length of from top of journal to bottom of wrist pin hole 2.375” max and 2.350” min. Honing of journal end and wrist pin hole permitted, those surfaces must remain flat. Oil hole size .179” max, .0180” no go. Minimum weight of rod assembly 133 grams. New stock performance CAST rod allowed. Crankshaft Requirements: Stock Box Stock crankshaft required. Machining, polishing, addition of material or other alteration of crankshaft is prohibited. Stock factory timing gear mandatory and must be installed in original location. Crankshaft journal diameter is 1.180” max-1.168” min. Stock Crank bearings only. NO ceramic bearings allowed. Camshaft Requirements: Stock camshaft cores only, ez-spin assy must remain as stock. Cam lobe base circle diameter .865”-.005”/+.10” Duration check for intake and exhaust lobes (taken off pushrod). Intake duration of 219 degrees at .050” lift/97 degrees at .200” lift. All checks will allow +2.-5 (minimum duration checks effective 03-1-2016) degrees for wear and gauge variances, Max intake lift on cam .225” -Min .215” lift taken at the pushrod. Max intake lift at the valve .238” taken on valve spring retainer as raced. Max Exhaust Lift at the valve .242” taken on the valve spring retainer as raced. Running lift should be checked in front of the rocker arm on the valve retainer. Preloading dial indicator not required for this check, check lift as run. Competitor/Tech may rotate the retainer 2 times max to achieve proper running lift. Once dial indicator has been set to zero dial indicator must not be reset until check has been verified. Blower Housing Assembly: Pull Starter must be present and remain stock. Pull starter may be rotated for a better crank angle. Color and finish of blower housing, valve cover and all sheet metal is a non tech item. Header Requirements: DJ1137 RLV SuperBox Header Only.
