Our amazing community of dedicated walkers, Virtual Walkers, volunteers, and supporters take incredible steps in the fight against cancer by providing funding vital to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission. The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk continues to raise the most money of any single-day walk in the nation, an accomplishment the entire Walk community has helped make happen. virtual walker option For those who are unable to attend the Jimmy Fund Walk on September 22, you can still raise funds to conquer cancer as a Virtual Walker. Virtual Walkers can register at JimmyFundWalk.org. There is a $100 fundraising requirement ($25 for those 12 and younger) and all Virtual Walkers will receive a Jimmy Fund hat. Those who raise $325 or more ($125 for those 12 years old and younger) receive a Walk T-shirt and medal. Members of Team Energi West lead their own Jimmy Fund Walk in California. MEANING IN EVERY MILE Who do you walk for? dana-farber employees work together, walk together Each year, hundreds of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute employees, including doctors, nurses, researchers, support staff, and more, participate as walkers or volunteers in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai. Employees participate with colleagues, family members, friends, and patients to raise critical funds for Dana-Farber’s 50/50 balance of compassionate patient care and groundbreaking cancer research. For many employees, participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk is not only a way to honor their loved ones who have been affected by cancer, but also to support Dana-Farber patients and their families outside of the office. Keep an eye out for Dana-Farber employees on Walk day! They will be sporting a special ‘Dana-Farber Employee’ patch on their Walk T-shirts.
