2018 Sydney Colorectal Surgical Meeting Saturday 17 November 2018 | Hilton Hotel Sydney Invitation Dear Colleagues, We are delighted to invite you to the 2018 Sydney Colorectal Surgical Meeting to update you on continuing controversies, recent advances and future directions in colorectal surgery. You will have the opportunity of meeting some outstanding personalities including two international experts, Dion Morton and Brij Agarwal. Dion Morton is the Barling Chair of Surgery at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and Chair of the Research Committee of the European Society of Coloproctology. Dion has a major interest in clinical research and has been PI on many trials of which the recently concluded Foxtrot trial, looking at neoadjuvant treatment of locally advanced colon cancer is a prime example. Dion has also made major contributions to develop the quality and format of surgical trials. We are also fortunate to have Brij Agarwal who joins us from New Delhi, India, where he is Professor of General and Laparoscopic surgery. Brij has been a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in India but has also been instrumental in developing a holistic approach to healing in surgery. Brij has a keen interest in reducing the use of energy devices in routine laparoscopic surgery. Brij also serves as the President of the New Delhi Association of Surgeons.
